thomas. >> i'm nicole brewer. jim donovan is off this morning. we are getting your day started with a check on weather and traffic with katie and meisha. >> good morning, tough morning to wake up to, tough monday this morning, and i can tell you that we have a very serious accident on the blue route including one fatality. i'll get to that in just a moment. >> as far as the width is her concerned, at least things are pretty tranquility point, clear skies, no worries on storm scan3, all calm and it will stay that i way throughout the day. pretty toast weekends, sky rocketed 90 plus through the course of saturday as well as sunday, but at this point much drier air has new jersey dollars in, sole cooler air, as well, not quite as warm throughout the course of the day, and it will -- won't feel quite as steamy either. the current temperature at the airport, in at 60 degrees in both trenton as well as atlantic city, cooler by comparison going bit further off to the north here on the northeast extension, 59 degrees allentown, just northern communities outside of philadelphia, also, checking in to the upper 50's,

hint of breeze in the air as well, making it feel that much cooler. keep in mind you will see the sun throughout the day, 78 degrees, our eventual high in philadelphia, so, far cry from those very summer like temperatures that we experience dollars over the course of the weekends, that said, the sun will shine, humidity has dropped, despite the breeze all-in-all looks like very pleasant day. >> okay, good, nice to see that sunshine, thanks so much, katie. good morning to all of you, if you are just waking up with us, serious accident including one fatality. the blue route moving in the northbound and southbound direction near media swarthmore. all lanes are blocked. so traffic is being diverted right now onto baltimore pike southbound we have debris out there clearly we have the crews out there with all of the flashing light so if you are anywhere near this area of media swarthmore on the blue route just know northbound and southbound directions all lanes blocked again, traffic you can see right now being diverted onto baltimore pike southbound, more of that coming in a up little bit. also tweet tag information out for you. look at the construction area

we did have on 95 north and southbound, street road, all since cleared, so actually looking good in this area. vine not closed for overnight construction, looking good both moving in the westbound and eastbound side, overall we can see early risers, we can expect that to start early on, overall looking good, 59 south at cottman same story there, everyone traveling at posted speeds. >> learning more about the alleged gunman who killed 50 people and hurt 53 more in a mass shooting at gay night club in orlando. >> omar mateen on the fbi radar, been interviewed by an agent back in 2013. two of the people who were killed are from philadelphia. their names have not yet been released. news intern who is working in philadelphia, was shot and is expected to recover. craig boswell has the latest from orlando. >> family member of the victims cried and held each other after finding out about their loved ones. they had gathered at orlando

hotel waiting for news, for many, the news was devastating . >> police seo march mateen took an ar assault rifle into gay night club in orlando and opened fire leading to the worse mass shooting in us history. >> he was just swiping around, no specific purpose, like just kind of just shooting anybody and anything. >> among the victims, 34 year old edward sewed omare, jr., stomachly, and 22 year old ruiz svielma. he called 911 to claim isis, swat team decided to go in to the bathroom. mateen was killed, one officer injured, his helmet credited for saving his life: >> the fbi investigating the massacre as act of terrorism. mateen was a security guard,

born in new york, his family ily moved to florida and attended this islamic center. bus had i ex-wife said he was short tempered and abuse. >> i've was mentally unstable and mentally ill. that's the only explanation i can give. >> friends, family, searched hospitalization for people in the club. but many now know their loved ones did not survive. >> craig boswell, for cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> again, president barack obama addressing dollars the nation following this deadliest shooting calling it act of terror and act of hate. >> this is sobering remind their attacks on any americans, regardless every race, ethnicity, religion, or sexual orientation, is an attack on all of us. and on the fundamental values of equality and dignity that define us as country. >> the president also commented on the gun control debate saying this is just another reminder of how easy it is to get ahold of a gun and kill people.

>> meantime, we know some victims in the shooting are from our region. >> the sitly come together tonight to honor all every those impacted by this horrific impact. jan carabeo live at city hall where crowds are expected there later today. jan? >> nicole, brooke, that's right, as you mentioned, we now know that two of the victims are from the philadelphia area. their names have not yet been released. we also now know that a news intern working in philadelphia was there in orlando on sunday was shot but is expected to recover. in the meantime, a candlelight vigil is scheduled for this evening right here at city hall. take a look at the video, flags are flying at half staff this morning, as well, as philadelphia mourns the lives lost, and the dozens who were injured in orlando one day ago. the lgbt community supported in force yesterday during philly pride, the crowds were cheerful and colorful during the parade and festivities afterward, many saying they could think of no better way to show their support.

but what happened in orlando was definitely on everyone's mind, especially folks at i candy, the own their is friends with the owner of pulse in orlando. >> some of my staff actually knows staff that work there, have been in contact with them, so it was a shocker. >> while we all stand together, and find ways to celebrate, we also are grappling with mourning and looking for answers. >> there is so much hate out there and this was supposed to be a beautiful day, everywhere, with people celebrate love and pride. and just, you know, but we're not going to let that bring us down. there are haters and there are lovers. let's be lovers. >> back out here live in center city this morning, that candlelight vigil will be held here at city hall at the north apron right around 6:30 this evening, reporting live in center city, jan carabeo, cbs-3, "eyewitness news", nicole, brooke, back into you. >> meantime philadelphia's muslim community has denounced

the orlando shooting. >> we are muslim but we are americans, as well, so we are american muslims. and we want everyone to feel like we are fellow citizens and, you know, we feel the same sadness in our hearts that everyone else feels, as well. >> but islam tells us that you cannot take a life un justify fully. it is very clear in the standing in the holy car a.m. >> the muslim community was established in the united states in 1921. the idea of non-violent is one of the group's core principals. >> shooting has prompted the presidential candidates to adjust their schedules and shift their focus, vermont senator bernie sanders called the attack horrific and unthinkable. >> isis must be destroyed, and that we have got to do everything humanly possible to prevent these types of tragedies from occurring again. >> hillary clinton has

postponed a joint campaign appearance with president obama on wednesday, in a statement, she wrote, the gunman attacked a lgbt night club during pride month. to the lgbt community please know that you have millions of allies across our country, i am one of them, we will keep fighting for your right to live freely, openly, without fear. hate has absolutely no place in america. donald trump is changing the subject of today's speech in new hampshire to terrorism. in a statement yesterday, he demanded that president obama resign because he didn't use the words radical islam in his comments about the shooting. now, he went on to say if we do not get tough and smart real fast, we are not going to have a country any more. because our leaders are weak, i said this was going to happen, and it is only going to get worse. i am trying to save lives and prevent the next terrorist attack. we can't afford to be politically correct any more. >> and we will update the orlando night club shooting in just a moment. but there is much more to

was shot to death friday. evesham township where grimmie grew up is holding vigil at the township memorial complex tonight at 8: 45, grimmie shot and killed in orlando, as someone shot her. she appeared on the voice in 2014, considered rising star in the music industry. >> new this morning, police are looking for the driver who hit a man on a motorcycle then fled the scene. this happened around 11:30 p.m. near the corner of cottman avenue and glenloch street in talcony. fire medics transported the driver of the motorcycle to area health torresdale with possible spinal injuries. there is no description yet of that car. >> in camden county, firefighters were on the scene after house fire in the 1400 block of hillside terrace in pennsauken. the fire broke out just before 12:30 this morning. pennsauken fire provided the these photos you see on your screen here, no injuries were reported and the fire was put under control. >> inferno involving several

cars in a wal-mart parking lot. happened in montgomery county. at least six cars caught fire outside the store in harleysville, firefighters believe a cigarette butt lit fire which quickly spread to the files. it was very windy but there are no report of anyone hurt. >> firefighters have contained a forest fire in woodland township, new jersey as well. this is an area covering about 400 acres on the edge of the pine barens near salve/boulevard. we're told no homes or businesses are at risk, and route 72 has been reopened. >> all right, it is 4:44 right now. katie is here with another check on your forecast, katy? >> guys, yesterday's wind real did i mean business. we had relative humidity lowering very, very dry air to work with, wind gusts peaking as high as 45 miles per hour, so if we ever give you the heads up hey the winds will be like that and the fire weather risk is elevated always throw those cigarette butts out n proper re except calls, keep your eye on your grill, just

good morning, everyone, happy monday to you. we are looking at a very serious accident here. this is the blue route northbound and southbound, all lanes are blocked right now near media swarthmore, see traffic being diverted onto baltimore park southbound, debris in the road, crews obviously out there, this accident is involving one fatality this morning. so very serious here, again, traffic being diverted from the blue route northbound and southbound, all lanes block near meade with a smart more, being diverted onto baltimore pike in the southbound direction. this is a look at the, dry roads will help us, new jersey, 42 freeway, first looking at jersey at creek road, looking good approaching 295. everyone traveling just as they should. still very early out there. a lot of lights here, ben franklin bridge moving in the westbound direction, beautiful shot. nice and calm roadways for those of you just anything about leaving your homes, in your good company. that, another accident here, norristown, main street, just

what we saw yesterday in the nor cast, today won't be anywhere near as windy but i will still notice there is a breeze out there. we keep the sunshine, also keep the relatively low dew points, relative humidity means that it will be very comfortable day, storm scan, nice and quiet for us once more. there is still a breeze, that is noticeable, looking at current wind speeds, basically straight up out of the northwest or the north at this point, anywhere from upward of say ten to at least at least ard 15 miles per hour, give or take, might even be little bit breezier than that. but you're not going to experience it much higher than that throughout the day. so not going to be contend with the vicious winds. tomorrow hit 80 degrees. lot every sunday once more, by wednesday into thursday specially we will see the next system moving in here, the humidity goes on uphill climb, clouds begin to rebuild, also tracking some showers and thunderstorm, specially on thursday, likely lingering into friday morning, before skies begin to clear out. and we will hold tough into those low 80s for the upcoming

planned in our area tonight. >> good morning to you, today is monday, june 13th, i'm nicole brewer in for jim donovan. >> i'm brooke thomas. we are learning more this morning about the gunman behind the worse mass shooting in american history. at least 50 people are dead, and 53 more are hurt. omar mateen was on the fbi's radar, been interviewed by an agent back in 2013. his ex-wife called him mentally unstable. investigators say, mateen walked into the crowd at pulse club early in the morning caring assault rifle, then sprayed helpless crowd with a birrage of bullets. in the close quarters it was hard to miss his target. >> he shot at police and also took hostages, investigators are still removing bodies at this hour from that club. some family members still trying to find out if their loved ones are dead or alive. now, two of the people who were killed are from philadelphia. their names have not yet been released, and news intern who
