allentown, reading, trenton, 13 degrees for both of those spots. cooler by comparison then this same time yesterday. we are more level in ac, millville. bottom line is as we transition away from this frontal boundary we are not only going to brighten up but see worst of those dew points dropping off, humidity begins to drop off as well. mid 80's expectation as we go throughout the course of the afternoon here. eighty-six for daytime high which is where we should be, with that sunshine and a couple cloud, nothing more but coming up we have talk about that possibility of the fresh round of severe storm potential. i'll tell you when to expect it and when you want to keep umbrella at the ready coming up. >> it is coming back. katie, thanks very much. good morning. looking outside 422 headlights in the ease bun direction past oaks, a bird eye view there, it is looking good. i would say just the buildup starting new, just holding steady. overall looking good. vine is looking good as well, looking very busy.

also tell us they are so grateful for their closeness, as they helped each other get down that fire scape and down to safety this morning now all of those neighbors are out of their homes. "eyewitness news" viewer snapped this photo the owe showing fire raging from the windows of this corner apartment building, at beyondel and west third street. neighbor danielle harold, went inside. >> it is if in the for your neighbors thinking of you and likewise you could have been possibly worse. >> it definitely could have been worse. i was in a deep sleep. i heard people screaming out tron. i was than the paying it in mind until i heard get out the apartment is on fire. >> reporter: chester fire fighters were dispatched around 12:30 wednesday morning arriving to save a family of five as they stepped to safety down a fire escape. all were rushed to crozer-chester er for evaluation. >> having a building this size with limited manpower that we have on duty, that is why the

second alarm was struck. crew did his an outstanding job. >> reporter: by 2:11 fire was knocked down abe the investigation began. officials quickly note that had no major injuries were reported working smoke alarms would have been a big help. >> if it had smoke alarms, obviously, somebody would have been alerted, sooner, and there is a very good possibility that the fire would not have extended, as far as it did. >> reporter: and back live, no working smoke alarms but working fire escape was difference making this morning helping several people get down to safety. police and fire officials believe as many as three people may have had lived in that apartment this morning. we can tell you that the red cross is braced to house as many as five families including that family that was hospitalized. the cause of the fire remains under investigation this morning. we're live from chester, i'm justin finch for cbs-3 "eyewitness news".

brooke and jim, back inside to you. thanks for the update. it will be a day of clean up in cape may county after a powerful storm knocked out power to thousands and left a lot of damage behind. heavier rain and strong wind, uprooted trees and knocked down power lines. and when it was all over, dozens of homes, were damage. >> just got home from work and saw my neighbors had trees down and my tree fell in my other neighbor's yard. so, i have to get it cleaned up for them. >> excuse me. thankfully no one was hurt but more than 15,000 ac electric customers still do not have power this morning. chopper three flew over more storm damage in cape may county, the strong wind flipped over a small plane at cape may airport. the roofies gone at the wildwood public works garage and the hotel in wildwood also had some roof damage. take a look at this picture from wildwood, strong wind picked up a small boat and carried it in the greater wildwood yacht club. fortunately no one was hurt. pennsylvania congressman chaka fattah awaits his punishment after being

convicted of racketeering charges. a jury found him guilty of laundering federal grants and non-profit fund to pay back an illegal one million-dollar campaign loan. fattah's lawyers say he was unaware about the illegal scheme. he is free, on bail, until sentencing in october. he is talking to his lawyers about what to do next. >> it is a very tough day but we're going to confer with my lawyers and figure out what our next steps are. >> today's verdict makes clear that the citizens of the eastern district of pennsylvania expect their public officials to act with honesty and integrity. >> fattah can remain in congress but house rules ban him from voting on any legislation. police are investigating an altercation in the city's mayfair section that ended with a car crash. police tell us two groups got in the fight last night at lincoln football field and at least one of the groups was from saint hubert's high school. during the fight man reportedly showed a handgun and investigators say after the altercation one of the girls from saint hubert's ran

home to get her dad and they went looking for the other group. officers say they spotted a guy that looked similar in the pickup truck, chased him and shot at him. both vehicles crashed. police took two people in custody. take a close look at these five men police are still looking for them. they are wanted for a beating of a man outside of geno's steaks in south philadelphia on june 11th. the whole thing was caught on camera but police are only releasing a portion of the video. they say the fight was too violent to show. patrick kane was injured in the attack and it started after one of his friend asked one of the men for a cigarette. this morning fire cries continue to battle two wild fires burning about a mile apart in california's san gabriel mountains. the san gabriel complex fire has burn more than 4900 acres and as danielle nottingham reports it is only 10 percent contain. >> they are taking it control. >> reporter: air cries in california continued water drops above the san gabriel mountains to keep two raging wild fires from joining

the ground about 5 feet away from the alligator which measured 8 feet long. man had injured to to his leg but is expected to recover. this happened about an hour away from where that little boy was sadly killed by a gator outside a difficulties necessity resort. clinging jelly fish are multiplying in new jersey waters. if you head down to the shore, don't worry, this type shows up in rivers and bays but jelly fish carry a painful, sometimes dangerous sting. in extreme cases it can lead to kidney failure marine biologist captured some hoping to figure out how fast their population is expanding. >> summer season begins, if you are in one of these areas that might have high abundances you will increase potential oven countering them and getting a pretty big sting. >> the doctor says the pain doesn't subside but escalates upward, that is within of the major signals it may be time to seek medical treatment. >> yeah. >> look at them. >> yep. >> i love a good chlorine
