nice already for the area. jim has been looking ahead to the weekend? that's all i look at. >> and it really still looks very promising. if you have any outdoor plans, things look awesome, today still transition day, feels little muscle -- little muggy outside shall hint of wet weather rolling through portions of southern new jersey, delaware, new jersey, the latest colds front continues to not quite stalling, but it is still lingering nearby. so i always call these kinds of days transition days, not going to be any kind of wash out for you, rather, just left over shower at this point. the further north you go, you have actually cleared out nicely, see depending on location, actually going to see more sun than anything, but more of clouds breaking for sunshine situation the further south you go, stray shower sort of just left over at this point. we look at the area temperatures, right now, into the very warm low 70s, both at the airport here in philadelphia, but also, across all of southern new jersey as well as into dover, and the majority of the first state also into the 70s this morning, say for wilmington,

one sort of i would say oddball out. regardless still mild beginning to the day here, mount pocono checks in at 57 degrees, but even then, some of the more outlying suburbs outside of philadelphia off to mild start, willow grove checks in at 67 degrees, weather watch they are morning, actually coming in from willow grove. get to meet her later in the show. 65 degrees is the temperature in doylestown and again low 70s being reported out in palmyra. meanwhile, we take you around the region as whole today. other than the left over shower, specially this morning, we're going to ends up with these clouds starting to break for sunshine, up in the pocono mountains, we can expect to see nothing but sunshine throughout the day. 78 degrees, for the daytime high, mid 70s just because you have a few more clouds to work with here, down at the shore points, but i would still overall call it pretty decent beach day, and it only get better from here. brooke, jim, we ends up with real nice weather for the weekends which we'll detail a bit later for you in the show. back to you. >> let's take a look at traffic right now, a look at the vine street expressway. there was no overnight construction last night fortunately. all lanes are now open in both

directions. >> little bit of different story as far as construction right now showing you i95 at cottman avenue. the northbound off ramp to cottman was closed because of construction, but that's now cleared, and the ramp reopened. >> downed tree blocking both directions, route 322, at pottstown pike, in west chester, we'll let you know as soon as that is cleared. >> meanwhile, on to the news this morning, the worlds is react to go dramatic vote in the uk where residents have decided to leave the european union. fall out has been swift. stock markets across the globe are in turmoil. and british prime minister, david cameron, has announced plans to leave office by october. as correspondent tina krause tells us, the so-called referendum sets in place years of changes. >> made shocking decision to step down after the uk vote today leave the european union. >> i do not think it would be right for me to try to be the captain that steers our country to its next destination.

the european aoun tune get a trade agreement done. and uk's going to be in the back of the cube. >> britain part of the 28 nation block since joining 43 years ago, but formally separating won't be easy. the process is expected to take at least two years. tina krause, for cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> in other news right now, man in the hospital after police say he was shot three times while sitting in his car. this all happened in the 6300 block of magnolia street, east germantown, just before 1:00 this morning, investigators say the man was in his car when another man pulled up and shot between seven and eight times. the victim was taken to the hospital where he's now in stable condition. it is not clear what may have motivated the shooter but police say, evidence is suggested maybe drug-related. >> this morning, we are still waiting to learn what happened the moments before four year old girl was shot and killed in north philadelphia. it happened in a home near west montgomery avenue and north 20th street around 12:30

yesterday afternoon. her mom and three year old sister were at home at the time. the girl was pronounced dead at the hospital. police are still investigating. >> a funeral will take place later this morning, local 18 year old killed until the orlando night club shooting. taking place at eight monumental church and her funeral at 10:00. murray is graduate of west catholic high school. sadly she was killed during the mass shooting at the gay night club in orlando back on june 12th. >> aclu of pennsylvania is suing the city of philadelphia over its refusal to issue march permit during the democratic national convention. the poor people's economic is human rate campaign plan to march during rush hour from city hall to the wells fargo center down broad street next month. they applied for march permit, but the city's denied the application siting interferance with traffic and conflicts with another event. >> governor wolf's offers says no decision has been made yet on whether to call a special election to fill the vacated seat of congressman chaka

fattah. the 11 term democrat resigned yesterday after convicted this week on charges of racketeering, fraud, and money laundering. initially planned to step down on october 3rd, 1 day before he is scheduled to be sentenced but after pressure from congressional leaders, fattah resigned effective immediately. >> well, sixers fans are ready to begin a new era. philadelphia basketball. >> that's right, they are welcoming number one awe overall draft pick in last night's nba draft. sports director don bell tells us ball ben simmons. >> great near here at p come for the philadelphia 76ers, not whole lot of suspense, as suspected took ben simmons number one overall, after they made those selections we heard from brett brown and the general manager brian coangelo. >> exciting, goes to new level for me, because of the knowledge that i have of his backgrounds, and the respect that i have of how he was raised, and i think from a package standpoint, when you way it all up, this is a fantastic night for 76ers

♪ double down on your candy and coffee cravings with dunkin's new heath and almond joy candy bar flavored iced coffees. america runs on dunkin'. welcome back, new while fire destroyed at least 08 homes, forced hundreds of people to evacuate in southern california. officials say about 1500 more homes are under threats, north of bakersfield, the so-called fire has burned over four square miles. elsewhere in california, cooler temperatures have been helping firefighters gain control of wild fires that have been burning all week. those forced evacuations, but thankfully, the fire didn't reach any homes.

>> flood waters are rising in west virginia, forcing people to leave their homes. this is video from the town of richwood, where the water is said to be nearly 3 feet deep. a state of emergency is in effect there, and officials started evacuating nursing homes. elsewhere in the state, the famed green briar resorts golf courses are underwater week before its scheduled to host a pta event. >> take a look at this incredible video showing flaming debris swept away in rushing flood waters. this happened in whites silver strings west virginia, amanda carper and her family stranded on a road as flood waters rose, she posted this video on facebook, says the debris is actually a home and it broke apart against some trees before plowing into the road. >> terrifying. west virginia storms also created a light show. this is downtown charleston, the moment lightning struck the at&t building there, sparks can even be seen flying off the top. >> wow. >> the time now, 4:42. >> katie is here with another check on your forecast, katy?

>> those storms were exactly the same system that affected us yesterday. we got just glancing blow from the same storm, but yes, those thunderstorms were vicious. just off to the south, through the southern portion of the delmarva peninsula, maryland, virginia, again got to dealt with glancing blow out of that, still lingering showers popping up here through the southern most branch of the area. delaware, southern new jersey, getting hit with that, the rest every us can basically say okay, you're done with the system, but the front itself is actually still drawing itself off to the south, here, so back toward tennessee, portions of north carolina, still finding some lingering showers at this point. but this is a transition day for our area. as we start to really see things clear out, we are actually finding some vast difference, when it comes it dew point temperatures. in other words, the moisture content in the air. remember, this is your benchmark for wet whether it feels humid outside. very important number in the summertime, when you are above 65 or so, you feel that humidity, and you definitely feel the humidity still in philadelphia. it is down right soupy this morning in dover.

but it is a breath of fresh air. the further north you go, you're in dew point in the 40's in mount pocono, so very different scenario depending on location this morning, so, yes, we always talk about these micro climates in our area there is will be one of those days you really notice that difference, low 70s still calm winds out of philadelphia, atlantic city, not too much after breeze even up at mount pocono right now, but definitely more comfortable for you there. meanwhile today again stray sprinkle, but pretty much done with the system as skies start to clear out nicely for more and more sunshine. later tonight, 64 in just couple of clouds, still staying mild, we look forward in the nor cast, though, the weekend promises to be just stellar summer weekend here. but we see the threat for couple of thunderstorms returning to the forecast early next week. guys, back over to you. >> thanks so much, katie. we take a look now at the traffic. >> yes, this is the vine st. expressway, there was no overnight construction last night, all lanes are open in both directions. >> now, there was construction, how much, on route 73 southbound, at route 322 in new jersey. one to two lanes will be

exchange, jill, big news, britain december significance to cause the eu, but causing half okay world-wide. >> reporter: yes, and it is having ripple effect here in the united states, so one point tonight, futures pointing to 700-point drop for the dow at the open. stocks have since made up some grounds, so now looking like four, 500-point drop. global markets are asia to europe are plunging in germany, almost 10% within minutes of the stock exchange opening, no country's ever left the eu, so this is really unprecedented, and market hate uncertainty. so, it will be interesting, see how it plays out, can take at least couple of weeks for stock market to stabilize, brooke, jim you. >> don't want to panic looking at your 401, i went to bed market up, oh, okay, things are going well, came in this morning, i'm like i'm not looking at that 401k at all. >> thanks, jill, big news this morning. >> you know what, for whatever reason, for whatever reason, investors really thought this would go the other way, so that's been priced into the market.

judge still in transition mode, watch the disturbance full away. further away you go, the nicer day it will be, in other words, brighter sky, a lot more sunshine, also a lot more comfort settling in, as dew point start to gradually drop off. but the further south go, you may still find a little bit of wet weather. now, here outside our live neighborhood network, 71 degrees the temperature at palmyra cove nature park, looks little steamy, haze still present for us, when you look at storm scan3, yep, still couple of showers, some locally steady, across portions of our area this

morning. but, this is, again, as our storm system pulls away officially. so it is going to be a day that gets prague rhett i havely nicer and nicer at the shore towns, as well, turning out mostly sunny for the weekend as a whole, beautiful shore weather, certainly anything else you have got going on here around the greater delaware valley. looks like a go for outdoor plans this weekend, in the city of philadelphia, mid to upper 80s both weekend days in the sunshine, and we will gradually start to see an up tick in terms of not just temperature but also humidity looking ahead to the early part of next week. that will be when our next cold front starts to make it slams, so allowing for shot of shower, thunderstorm, as early as monday, especially p.m. hours. looks like we will also have to dodge a bit of wet weather on tuesday, as well. pat, good morning. >> good morning, katie, all of that good stuff on the map, not so much here, though, this is over in new jersey, admiral wilson boulevard, there is one lane blocked, and there is a reason for that. because as you head from admiral wilson boulevard, to route 38, there are gas main repairs, route 38 block between route 130 and route 70, three lanes are block there, until 9:00 p.m.
