lifting from the south. we felt increase of humidity this morning. the our next storm is moving from the west. actual cold front is still way back here. see this line of showers and storms over northwestern, pennsylvania. they could get in later this evening in the overnight hours but should not be quite as strong as to what is happening right now. worst of it the is right around new york city metro area. all that hamptons traffic getting it worse then we are, with our shore and poconos traffic, you can see heavy thunderstorms, lots of lightening. for our area we are dealing with mainly scattered showers, and also a few stronger storms. one right now just moving in northern delaware this one right here does have a severe then are storm warning associated with it around hockessin and pike creek. heavy rain, lightening and risk for hail. we got a new warning in the weather center for this cell over cumberland county right over millville and you can see this is throwing shrinks down along ac expressway. i have a feeling that stretch is pretty blocked up with traffic. the is there ubiquitous 7s for shore goers, all of this wet

death and her mother a's boyfriend has turn himself into face charges. now to a showdown on the atlantic city boardwalk ahead of the big holiday weekend. hundreds of union workers walk off the job amid a contract dispute between the trump taj mahal and atlantic city's main casino union. "eyewitness news" new jersey reporter cleve bryan is in atlantic city with more on what is keeping both side, from reaching an agreement, cleve. >> reporter: workers say that the taj mahal will not offer them benefits, that are comparable to what workers are getting at other casinos in town. the talks have broken off, and now you can see that here on the boardwalk, marching as they strike. beating the drum for better benefits and wages, hospitality workers at trump taj mahal, walked off the job this morning to go on strike. unite here local 54 represent about a thousand cooks, food servicer and housekeepers at the taj. they say thursday night when

everybody else during the busiest time of the year. workers at taj say the offer should be the same as the other casinos. >> that makes me feel like they are not willing to step up to the plate for me. sure, we will lose tips, but you know what, it has to be done. >> reporter: last time there was a casino labor strike, more than a decade ago it lasted for 34 days, again, the union saying there have been no more talks since yesterday, the taj mahal says that they have a contingency plan in place to stay opened for guests. reporting live from atlantic city, cleve bryan, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> cleve, thank you. a major drug trafficking ring is busted in philadelphia a pennsylvania attorney general kathleen kane announced at rest of the 18 people today, all allegedly involved in the trafficking of cocaine, crystal meth, heroin, marijuana and prescription bills. andre wilson the leader of the ring allegedly traveled from philadelphia to los angeles to organize the transport of

those illegal substances. >> wilson also used ups and fedex to ship money and drugs back and forth a cross the country. the drugs would come from los angeles, into philadelphia, and then monday would i ship from philadelphia back to los angeles. >> wilson is a accused of laundering roughly four million-dollar, that investigation began in 2009. we now know the date of the special election to fill the seat of the former congressman shack a fattah. vote will happen on election day november 8th, winner of the special election only holds the position until the start of the new term in january. voters will also, select fattah's permanent replacement on the same day. fattah resigned last week after his conviction on federal corruption charges. many questions still remain days after attorney general loretta a lynch met with bill clinton. >> now lynch is talking about how she will handle her involvement in the investigation of the hillary clinton moving forward. cbs correspondent craig boswell picks up the story.

officials in turkey say they have more than a dozen suspects in custody in connection with tuesday's airport terror attack. >> they also have an idea who organized the suicide mission, correspondent holy willis is in istanbul with more on the investigation and also new video from inside the airport. >> reporter: new security camera video shows terror in the departures area. one of the armed attackers went looking for victims. one of the suicide bombers is thought to have been a russian citizen from the north caucus region. two others from yous beck tan and kurd is stan. it is estimated that several thousand fighters from russia and a former soviet republics have joined isis. the neighborhood where the attackers apparently hold up is popular with people traveling to and from syria. >> this is the local plumber and told us when one of the men asked him to fix a leaking pipe a few days ago, he

noticed a strange odor in the apartment. i asked the man what it was, he told us, but he just waved me away. explosive experts believe it might have been a chemical precursor, used in the suicide vest. turkish media and u.s. officials say that this man was the organizer of the massacre, ahead charterev a isis commander from checnya. turkey has been accused of not doing enough to stop foreign fighters from passing through its territory and joining isis in syria. it seems that some of those foreign fighters may have targeted turkey and its biggest airport. holy williams, for cbs news, istanbul. president obama reveals more than 100 civilians have been killed by drone strikes and other u.s. operations overseas. the this afternoon the president announced up to 116 civilians have died between 2009 and december of 2015.

that number only refers to strikes in pakistan, yemen and africa it does not cover iraq, syria or afghanistan. president signed an executive order to limit further civilian casualties. evacuations have just been lifted in oregon as a wild fire burning, east of the area threatens home. >> fire started at 5:30 and spread quickly and at least 40 people were forced to flee. they are returning to their homes tonight, fire fighters are working very hard and they are not the only ones battling the flames. >> my husband is out the here fighting fire and i just look with the other farmers out there with themselves and the water tanks. it is something that just comes with this area and you pray for the guys to fight all these fires. >> we are told the fire is 60 percent contain and burned at least 3500 acres. the cause of the blaze has yet to be determined. >> that video is incredible. >> um, um. >> we have got thunderstorms moving through right now.

>> yes. >> what do you do. >> it looks like it will clear out eventually. >> there is a cold front associated with what is moving through right now. cold front is back across western pennsylvania. we have to get that push to get all this stuff out of here to clear humidity from the eras well and then we can sit pretty for a couple days. but today is a bumpy start to the holiday weekend. it has been a mess on the roads on and off. the these showers and storms have been coming through quickly, though and leave heavy downpour and then pops out behind it. now we are seeing showers and storms sit in one place for a little bit longer a and we just got word is there a flash flood warning right now for portions of couple cumberland county. never drive through standing or rushing water on the roads. lets look at city. we will take a live look at sky cam three looking toward center city philadelphia a looking ominous right now. we have had heavy rain about 2:00 o'clock. then it cleared out. sun came back. we have been in and out of the dark cloud all afternoon and it looks like the sky business to open up any minute with more wet weather.

we have a little bit of rain falling around the city right now. take a look at our live neighborhood network from the beach patrol headquarters in margate. it is not a great beach day. cloudy right the now. couple of showers moved through but look at this group at bottom of the screen. you can see a big family or group of people sitting in the circle enjoying this day regardless of the ugly weather. i'm happy to report, we will have much better weather for sitting out on the beach for the next couple of days. storm scan three shows it is still active. now the storms over portions of new york and down into maryland and virginia are stealing the thunder from frustrates, no pun intended so that means we don't have that much severe weather happening right now. that is a a good thing. anyone of these storms could produce a very we have localized downpour this one popped up a new cell over portions of southern chester county as this previously warned one has moved way. right where we have a flash flood warning east of vineland and millville, this storm has not been moving for past half an hour to an hour dumping heavy rainfall. is there so much moisture in the air we have to watch for

those quick ponds on the road and risk for flash flooding. you can see enhanced threat for north jersey, on up in the hudson veil. we are still in the slight risk for severe weather in philadelphia, but that is area under a tornado watch at the moment and few severe thunderstorm watches near new york, our area scattered showers and storms and we have some pretty nasty storms in portions of coastal virginia as well. so we are not going to get the worst of it but we have to watch out for these showers and thunderstorms throughout the rest of this evening at least until we will get that push from the west and get them to move out. that doesn't really come in the later tonight. still some scattered showers around at 8:00 o'clock and then we will start to see that actual cold front make its passage right around midnight, finally clears out and once it clears, it will clear quickly. we have a beautiful day tomorrow. right now you can see spots, rain cooled, lower 70's, trenton, millville. eighty-one in philadelphia. eighty-four at the moment in wilmington. to point, very high, dew points in the 70's in many spots, it feels soupy outside right now but that is not going to last through the daze

right now on "eyewitness news" we're continuing to follow, strong storms, that have hit the area. they have fired up earlier this afternoon. we're still under a severe thunderstorm watch tonight. thanks for joining us i'm jessica dean. i'm's ukee washington. the lets check with meteorologist kate bilo tracking the severe weather for us tonight, kate.

>> this comes a head of the advancing strong cold front which will bring about big changes for weekend but before that front comes you this we are dealing with the messy afternoon. the front is back here. before we get that to sweep through and clear southeast storms have slowed down, they are not moving very quickly and that means we run risk of heavy rainfall as well. lets look at the current set up, you can see a few storms in the region this one here over cumberland county is severe. we don't have any other severe warnings but we are watching these storms over portions of chester county a and pretty nasty cell over sussex county delaware as well. lets zoom in here seeing a heavy downpour over portions of chester county just west of east marlboro down toward hockessin delaware and moving in new castle county. as we zoom up in lower bucks county where we will fine lightening, thunder around bordentown, 295 levittown and up toward portions of mercer county new jersey near trenton where heavy rain is falling. worst storm on the radar right now is this one over

cumberland county new jersey. you can see a hook here, just got wind report of the 46 miles an hour in cumberland county. severe thunderstorm warning in effect with this storm and hasn't been moving very quickly at all. some radar reports indicate that up to 3 inches of rain has already fallen in this area with this particular cell. we have a flash flood warning to show new a moment. the here's severe thunderstorm watch for the region that goes until 10:00 o'clock, tornado watch to the north and east over long island, new york and into connecticut. right now over one severe thunderstorm warning and that one over central, northern cumberland county in new jersey and we have a flash flood warning in effect for this entire area until 8:45 tonight, from cedarville, millville, commercial, up towards south of vineland and that flash flood warning. that means flooding is occurring right now, up to 3 inches are have fallen and still raining here. the we say turnaround down drone do not try to drive

through any flooded out roadways. it could lead to a life threatening situation. i know some folks were out there shore traffic through that part of the region. taking an alternate route please be safe if you know of anyone heading down the shore, send them a heads up and let them know to stay away from that area, pretty dangerous stuff there. through the next few hours still we have a chance for scattered strong to severe thunderstorms. these are not every where. these storms are strong, producing wind as high as 60 miles an hour, blinding downpours, and again risk for ponding and flash flooding on the road. we have had reports of frequent lightening and hail with these storms as well. 1 inch diameter reported in hainesport, also reported in lumberton earlier and hail remains a threat through tonight, later tonight we will clear it out and i have got much better news as we head into tomorrow and we will have that coming up, jessica, back over to you. safety is on the mind of millions of americans getting ready to go out of town this fourth of july weekend. triple a expects report number of people will be traveling
