mount pocono, 69 in palmyra, 66 in willow grove. big drop in the dew point temperatures, which gauges the humidity, 11 degrees, cooler, than this time yesterday. indicating the dry air mass, current dew point, yesterday in the 70s, that was tropical air mass, now dry, this is nice for summer. these will continue to drop through the day today. get outside and enjoy it, 83 for philadelphia, 08 at the shore, in the sun, mid 70s, in the poconos, as we head to the fourth of july itself, we're going to see more clouds, and there is a chance for some showers, especially, south of the city. we will talk about that a little bit more in detail when we check out the seven day forecast in a few minute, also, a big warm up, too, in our seven day. you don't want to miss that coming up. rahel, back to you. >> justin, thank you. police in bangledesh have stormed a restaurant ending ten-hour hostage situation, with terrorists. police say the extremist killed 20 hostages, and at least dozen more were rescued, though. six gunmen, two police officers, were also killed. and intelligence group says isis has claimed responsibility for the attack,

but, that hasn't been verified just yet. >> investigators in turkey say they've detained 13 people in connection with tuesday's airport terror attacks, three suicide bombers killed 44 people at the main airport in istanbul. us officials says isis commander from check nia organized the massacre. some are now accusing the turn i shall government of not doing enough to stop for infighters from passing through its territory, then joining isis and syria. >> new this morning, someone has stabbed a woman in north philadelphia, and police are now looking for who did it. it happened just after midnight on the 1800 block of inning err saul street. when thinks arrived on the scene they saw the 40 year old woman stabbed in both legs. she is in stable condition this morning, so far no suspects and no motive. new jersey state police are trying to determine what caused a fatal crash on the garden state parkway in monmouth county. a van caring 14 people flipped over around 7:00 last night, near exit 117 in holmdale township.

two of those people have died. they believe a tire may have popped right before the crash causing the incident. and as you can imagine, people who live nearby are shaken. >> it was very scary, and very upsetting, because you're hoping that everybody is okay. >> all northbound lanes of the parkway were closed for a short time. they've since reopened to traffic. >> to our big story of the day, the july 4th holiday weekend is fun for almost everyone at the jersey shore, the strike against the taj mahal casino hotel, how much, is in its second day. mostly over healthcare and the pensions plan, and "eyewitness news" reporter natasha brown has the story from atlantic city. hours after hitting the picket line friday morning, hospitality workers at the taj mahal casino continue to demand better benefits and wages in the most visible and vocal way possible. unite here local 54 represent about a thousand cooks, food servers, housekeepers at the taj. when the casino refuse add labor contract, similar to

other agreement reached with casinos, hundreds of workers saw no other option than to strike on one of the busiest holidays of the summer season. >> we are working without any benefits, no insurance, no nothing. >> all of the other casinos have offered fair contracts, and this is the one who refuses to talk over the contract so we'll fight until they do. >> workers want health and retirement benefits restored, casino officials say they're negotiating in good fate but employees of the bargain committee seem hell bent on trying to close the property. they are hurting their own and everybody else during the busiest time of the year. meantime, beach-goers continue to frolic in the ocean, enjoying the start of their fourth of july holiday, in the shadows of this ongoing labor dispute. >> once in a blue moon we just do a girls day, and we just come down, and we have something to eat and then we play a little and then we go home. >> we love coming down to the beach. you know, and when our one year anniversary. >> what do you like about the

beach? >> the beach has water. >> atlantic city is certain to be packed with visitors during this holiday weaken, meantime, the taj mahal does remain open for business. in atlantic city, natasha brown, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". okay, now, to our big story of the morning. there is no better place to spend the fourth of july holiday weekends than philadelphia. the spectacular fireworks show lit up the sky at penn's landing where more will go off tonight. and that's where we find "eyewitness news" reporter alexandria hoff live to tell us all the way philly will celebrate the fourth. alex of course you know as a native nobody does the fourth of july quite like philly. >> no, there is no where else to do it, i mean, the station was founded right here. so there is no better way to pay homage to that and to celebrate. now, last night at 7:00 p.m., fireworks kicked off in camden and then once the sun went down they went right back up here in penn's landing. the sky was brought to life last night on both sides of

the delaware river. something that some spectators have been waiting weeks for. >> boom. >> boom. >> there were more than a few booms, as hundreds aim their eyes and phones toward the sky. the display brought to life with the sounds of philadelphia orchestra. on the other side of the river, another fireworks display will go off in camden at 7:00 p.m. the battleship new jersey being one very patriots i can pot to watch the show. back in the city, welcome america celebration this year's party on the parkway fireworks display will be the largest since 2011. that will take place on monday, along with big name musical performances. something to keep in mind, is that our media partners at "kyw news radio" will be broadcasting the sound tracks every monday fireworks, sync with the show, great way to watch analyst friend your car, or maybe even rooftop party. but, we ran into one couple

services scheduled for today for the four year old girl who died last week after accidentally shooting herself in the face. last night many mourning the child's death, added new stuffed animals to the memorial outside of her home. student, teachers, parents released balloons in her memory during graduation ceremony at her day care. the child's mother and her mother's boyfriend are both now facing charges, in connection with her death. >> tighter security greeted customers last night at bucks county carnival. one night earlier, it was forced to shutdown and fight ended with stabbing of several people. "eyewitness news" reporter greg argos with more now from tullytown. >> the same michael attacker angel carnival has been a staple in the tullytown community for more than six decades. >> fun place to come. you can enjoy it with your children, plenty of good food. >> but thursday night after an argument broke out on the fairgrounds, police closed the event around 10:30, and crowds

migrated across the street, to the wal-mart parking lot. that's where a fight broke out. three people were stabbed, and four other arrested. >> in the 63 years of the carnival's existence, this is the first time that we've ever had anything like this, anyone being injured, we're very sorry to hear that, we pray for them, hope that they'll recover. >> police say those injured are going to be okay. and father michael dior yo, the pastor of the church, says he hopes this incident doesn't hamper attendance at the fair. >> i do a lot of praying. i'm hoping that that doesn't happen, because what that would do would be taking away some of the extras possibly that we could give to certain children. >> see, every cents of profit from this annual fair -- >> every single pen. >> i goes toward offsetting tuition costs for low income families in the area. >> and, in some cases, there are children whose tuition is actually pick up by the carnival. >> i know he says he believes this is isolated incident which happened outside the carnival grounds, he still is taking additional precautions

waking up comfortable temperatures from our weather watchers, inning joying the low humidity, some opening up the windows, in the 60s right now from many of the backyards, down in newark, delaware, dolores lee checking in at 67 degrees, cherry hill, new jersey, lynn at 69. sixty-seven in lawrenceville. and in willingboro, new jersey, mid 60s chester county, nottingham, and similar numbers newspaper allentown, julia upper 60s, mid 60s in willow grove, and gilbertsville, eileen murray at 62. so we had great sunrise this morning, coming in, couple of shots here, this is out of cherry hill, lynn springer showing mostly sun skies, few left over mid high level clouds out of here over the next few hours, nice shot with the nag there, happy fourth of july week friend gilbert ville looking at clear skies. so we go full sunshine today, maybe up in the poconos, enjoying nice trip up to the lake. check it out. live look from the big boulder resort there, looking at the lake, and nice view in the sunshine, today, it is nice, in the 50's right now, topping

off into the 70s in the sunshine. up in the poconos. it will stay dry throughout the entire holiday weekends in the mountains. so here are holiday weekend headlines. today a lot of sunshine, low humidity, take advantage of it for early july. you don't see this too often. tomorrow still pleasant, just going to see more clouds stream in. then for fourth of july itself, we could run into few showers, especially monday afternoon into the evening, especially from the city on southward. so best chance will be in new jersey and delaware, talk about that in just a bit. no threat of rain today though. yesterday, storms, well off shore, high pressure builds in, look at that, clear skies over the ohio valley, and mid-atlantic. seeing some showers break out across the center of the us, that could impact us, later on monday. until then, enjoy it, great night for baseball, first pitch tonight, with the royals in town at 5:50, get another fireworks show today, headed to the game, 08 degrees at fish pitch in the sunshine, low humidity, maybe hitting the beaches, jersey shore, delaware beaches, in great shape. mostly sunny skies nice off

shore winds, water temperature dropped off the coast of new jersey mid 60s, low 70s, delaware, uv index running very high, so make sure to have the sun block handy. high pressure in dominance today. again, continues remain over us, for your sunday, so we keep it dry, just some clouds trying to stream in. watch the system, it stays just to our south and west. but enough moisture could work it way far enough north to get couple of showers in here for monday afternoon, especially into delaware, and south jersey, and the shore points. that could impact fireworks displays specially delaware, new jersey, and the city, maybe a shower early in the evening, i think the nighttime is should be dry. so today, in the sunshine, tomorrow, you see partly sunny skies, returning, and then we head into monday, some of the showers trying to stream in from the city on south and east. today, though, pleasant, low 80s for the warm spots, upper 70s, north and west, and then tonight another comfortable night, 50's to 60s, low humidity, keep the windows open, give the air-conditioning a break. because you will need it
