weather. for those out and celebrating what will it look like. >> it will be good. we have to check calendar to say it is july. >> so pleasant. >> we have had 40's in the mountains early this morning. >> wow. >> yes, that is jacket weather in the even of july. pretty crazy. we will talk about rain chances towards the upcoming holiday itself. certainly at nighttime hours but until then we're looking good for the most par. we are waking up to clouds and one area to our south has showers. we will talk about that as well but overall, not a bad sunday. so generally mostly cloudy right now in philadelphia we should see more sun this afternoon but very pleasant 69 at the airport. light breeze out of the north at 3 miles an hour and humidity staying on the low side. there is the rainy was talking about initially. we have to go south of dover delaware, lot of it not reaching the ground but we will go in sussex county delaware down toward maryland beaches, we have got showers there, maybe a shower or two into cape may county early this morning. it will improve this morning in the afternoon and then see

more tonight because nothing says fourth of july weekend in philadelphia like a free concert by the philly pops. take a look behind me as you can see there are the barricade that are already being put up, the stage, platforms and light are being assembled in advance of the concert. where an estimated 20,000 people are expect to gather here outside of independent hall. it is perfect for fourth of july eve, a free patriotic concert performance by 65 piece pops orchestra and voices of the pops ensemble. if the music from last year is any indication of what is to come it will be a hit. students from the school district of philadelphia all city jazz program will perform tonight at the historic philadelphia block party right here, the at fifth and market streets. be ready to hear familiar sound including music by philadelphia bread stars like chubby checker, boys two men and jill scott. tonight's pop concert is just part of the several days of

entertainment, including multiple fire works displays, leading up to tomorrow's fourth of july celebrations that will begin with the parade on ben franklin parkway and culminate with the party on the parkway, at fourth of july jam. tony award winning actor leslie odom, o.j.'s and others will perform, filled by the grand finally fire works at 10:00 p.m. of course, you can see preparation for that stage are already underway on the parkway. of course, it is expect to get extremely busy in this area outside of independent hall and as you can see folks are already lining up at the independence visitors center. it is unclear whether they will be in attendance at tonight's concert but you know this area will be crowded. so if you plan to attend the pops on independence hall tonight that begins at 8:00 p.m. get here early. historic philadelphia a block party begins earlier then that and city orchestra will perform at 7:00 p.m.

catch the route 15 bus but got caught under the rear tire. the victim's name has in the been released. new jersey marine police are investigating a watercraft collision that killed a father and his young son and third person suffered a wrist injuries. it happened on the creek in atlantic county. "eyewitness news" reporter trang do picks up the story. >> reporter: horrific accident took the lives of the father and son inside somers point. witnesses say pair was on the jet ski when it collided with another jet ski just before 5:00 p.m. on the creek. and melissa splendido was bringing in her boat when she saw police, tow boats boats and police rendering emergency aid to the father. >> very unsettling tonight knowing what had happened and we came upon that i'm thinking about them and their families, and, you know, hoping that everyone is doing okay tonight. >> reporter: medics took the person on the other jet ski to shore memorial hospital, their condition is unknown. no word on the cause of the accident but state police are

investigating, and meanwhile that family and friend tells us that the father and son were visiting new jersey from out of state. in egg harbor township atlantic county i'm trang do for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". we're following developing news out of baghdad this sunday morning, iraqi officials say that a car bombing in a busy shopping district has killed at least 78 people, and wounded 160 others. in an on line statement the islamic state group claimed responsibility for the attack but the statement could not be independently verified. second bombing in eastern baghdad killed five more people and wounded another 16, both areas were packed with families, after breaking fast for ramadan. three students attending american colleges are among 22 victims in the terror attack and hostage crisis in bangladesh, one from florida. wendy gilette brings us up to date on the investigation. >> reporter: amateur video captured gunfire and explosions when commandos moved into end the ten hour

investigators are trying to find out what caused a house fire that killed a delaware county couple, theodore and barbara fine, both 58, flames destroyed their home in the 600 block of cedar lane in morton. fire investigators say it started on the rear deck but what they are still trying to understand if a slow cooker being used to prepare for fourth of july party may have caused the fire. the fine's owned slack's hoagie shack on baltimore pike in springfield and owned a catering company. shocked employees say the couple was very involved in the community. >> great people to work for, very good hearted, shirt off your back, they always gave to this community, soccer teams, springfield, the football team, springfield lacrosse team, always donating. >> employees say their death is a huge loss. dramatic video from out west where wild fires are destroying homes and

triggering more evacuations. fire fighters have been battling this fire in sent will rally with california since friday. and it has burn nearly 3,000 acres and only 25 percent contained. the fire shut down a major highway for a while but it has since reopened, causes under investigation. now to san bernardino where three fire fighters were injured fighting this fast moving fire. flames erupted on a hill side and quickly burned five homes. several others are in danger catching fire, neighborhood has been evacuated, more than 100 fire fighters are battling these flames. turning to our region, justin it has been nice but we will be able to dodge the showers this weekend. >> i think so, yeah. >> really tomorrow night, but that is not good timing, the fire works, concert on the parkway, that is up in the air, later we go in the evening better chance to see those showers. >> but consistent, scattered. >> it will pick up in intensity. hopefully we will luck out here but throughout overnight definitely steadier showers tomorrow night.

hour. most have these areas dry, with the exception of the stone harbor south where we have light drizzle early this morning. now how will it feel with the humidity? once again like yesterday it will be please an. pleasant today, noticeably more humid tomorrow, still not bad though and then tuesday is when we start to bring back that steamy conditions and that is the trend, wednesday, thursday, friday, even all the way through the upcoming weekend. we will move into that typical mid-july summertime weather that you would expect around here this time of the year. shore forecast today, shower early, cloud around upper 70's tomorrow, some sunshine early in the day. watch out for showers coming in during the evening hours, temperatures in the mid 70's and morning rain on tuesday and then possibly some sun for the afternoon. then we will warm up even at the shore in the mid 80's. thinking about jumping in the ocean water, feeling better, this weekend, upper 60's to lower 70's for new jersey and delaware cher line, further south you are, warmer there at 73 off the coast of delaware.

frontal boundary to the south, there is rain, moving off shore as we head in the early morning have afternoon hours. high pressure for the most part dominates our weather. that keeps us dry. areas showing fire works tonight we will be good. partly cloudy skies. initially tomorrow, dry and justin creasing clouds, then we will get these showers in here late afternoon initially scattered, then they will pick up in intensity through the overnight into tuesday morning. then tuesday afternoon we will dry out. the lets zoom in closer here, and you can see just some clouds, giving way to some sunshine tonight partly cloudy, tomorrow we will start off dry, with some showers, trying to move from the west. they will have a tough time doing. that for most of the afternoon it looks good. if you have pool or barbecue plans and then here's 11:00 o'clock we will see rain moving in. that is not good news around the city for the fire works and there will be steady rain too over half inch of rain by the time we move into tuesday afternoon. that is the good thing. we could use the rain. as we head through time temperatures will warm up but that jet stream on the move,

so if you like that typical summertime weather we will like this forecast. today partly sunny, please an fire works 76 degrees with the the showers arriving, with that extended forecast, 80's now and surgeoning in the lower 90's by end of the week. >> warming up, thanks justin. right now 8:18. time to check the road. lets go back to ann evans in the cbs-3 traffic center. i know were you track ago this breaking news this morning. what are you seeing now. >> the accident is still there it is a terrible accident. the driver was ejected from the vehicle they cleaning it up now. this is schuylkill westbound in the conshohocken curve and blue route. right lane is block by this accident, as you can see, they are getting that what is left of that car crash, they are towing it, remind they are weekend that you will have a lot of company on the roadways, so, drive very carefully out there. give yourself every advantage on the highway, wear seat belt, don't speed, all of the things that you should do. eastbound lanes here looking okay, they are moving, again we have had emergency vehicles blocking eastbound lanes but they are no longer doing. that the westbound lanes,

right lane blocked and we have traffic delays. again, on the schuylkill westbound from the conshohocken curve and blue route and we have unfortunately what looks like a fatal accident there. we will move the traffic cam to much more pleasant picture of the ben franklin parkway. ben franklin parkway is closed outbound and inbound in the inner drive, between art museum circle and 20th street through welcome america festival preparations for tomorrow night's concert and great fire works happening here. we will move the traffic cam within more time to the ben franklin bridge, shore bound no delays, 42 looks good, so does 55. no problems on the ac expressway or parkway. that is latest from the traffic center, i'm ann evans now rahel back to you. very good reminder there. would you call your child a dare devil? if so a local camp is letting them test their aerial skills this summer. the philadelphia school of circus arts in germantown is opened to all ages, and promotes firer points of performing. >> this is with the the year 2,000. i started off with adults actually. now we have grown to the point where we have 400 students a week during the school year. >> reporter: they pride itself as a stepping stone for those interested in furthering their skills in tightrope, trapeze and whatever this is called but it is a fun alternative for sports cast for children during their summer breaks. >> today circus education is huge, a great access point for kid with all will physical abilities, shapes, sizes who may not be into sports or for whatever reasons. they stay active and pick up skills that develop all sorts of what we call physical literacy. >> we have bunch of students that come here and just have a good time. kid that are not natural athletes who would focus on their library and their parents want them to do something physical and they difficult cover it is fun to

>> around 5:00 a.m. those plans were lost with so much more. >> there is word that there were two victims trapped inside the house. >> reporter: crewness morton delaware county were called to a home on the 600 block of cedar lane, where heavy smoke and fire had consume the rear end of the house. >> we're investigating that the fire may have gone in the second floor in the house in the rear. >> reporter: they are investigating a slow cooker being used as a possible cause, neighbors say that the home owner, theodore fine was a talented chef. he and his wife barbara were pronounced dead at the scene. neighbors say that the couple was very security minded and that their lock required a key from the inside to get out. fire marshals says that the couple's bodies were found just feet from that store. the fine's who just celebrated 35 years of marriage were as good as neighbors as they come according to those who lived around them. >> they were good people. i'm just very sad at the loss.
