more than a hundred septa cars are now out of service as structural defect were found. eyewitness news reporter joe holden cecity's commute could be rough for rail riders. >> reporter: just after midnight friday septa officials say an inspector note sister silver liner rail car was leaning. the problem more serious than first thought. cracks were found. >> this is an all hands on deck situation for september t we understand the profound ways in which this will adversely affect our loyal riders: at a rare holiday weekend news conference septa manager details actions. all silver liner fives were taken out of service. make up about a third of septa's entire regional rail fleet. >> with one third of our fleet out of service, however, tuesday is the challenge. and unfortunately, it will be rough on our railroad customers. >> reporter: 95 of 100 silver

liner cars inspected were found to have a crack in a part of the suspension system. we asked the worse case scenario if left un addressed. >> at high speed you could have a derailment. >> reporter: it will be complicated transit authority is working with the trains manufacture which may not be completed until august. >> every rush hour train is going to be very crowded. there are going to be passengers who are passed by. >> reporter: matthew mispickel with delaware valley of passengers septa riders should brace for significant. >> when you have to pull the entire fleet out of service and that fleet is one third of your entire railroad system it's a very serious effect. >> reporter: septa officials will be reaching out to new jersey transit and amtrak to try to consult if they have any trains to add to ease the passenger load. as for that rush hour coming tuesday morning, we expect
