news in the world of traffic. we have fatal crash in mt. laurel i'll get to, all lanes block on 295. >> unfortunate to hear that. at least things now are pretty quiet. tranquil weather to report, eventually rain starts to move in for the area, right on out to storm scan, starting signs of life, far off to the south. moisture starting to creep ever closer through new castle county might have quick little shower moving in. when we put things into motion here, just starting to see the atmosphere begin to moisten up. a lot of what you see is not actually verifying at the grounds level just yet. that is going to change with time, how much, as the rain starts to build in from south to north. we have been talking about this now from last week, time something everything, flight we can handle some clouds. but if the rain comes in it could certainly lead to damn inning of your outdoor plans here today. so 68 is the current temperature at philadelphia international airport. sixty-six in wilmington, mid 60s generally across all of southern new jersey little cooler by comparison up at mount pocono. outlying suburbs, also in the

50's, it does at this point still feel pretty darn comfortable most locations, dew points still relatively low, starting to see the clouds start to bill owe n generally what you can expect here today. mostly cloudy skies, later today, especially tonight, not only some showers, and periods of rain, but also some embedded thunder and lightning. we are going to track the timing of all of this. get a sense where it is moving in, does it actually affect the timing of the fireworks, get all of those details coming up a bit later in the show, meisha. >> wonderful, thank you so much. good morning, guys, looking outside, i'll get to the crash in mt. laurel in just a moment. construction 202 northbound between route 30, route 401, vine open last night, vine you are looking pretty good. we look at route one, headlights moving in the south direction at fox street basically what you are looking a do have early risers on our holiday today. make note it might get just little busy, not as it normally would, could get busy today regardless.

thousand party goers, the concert starts at 5:00 p.m. tonight. and will feature act including leslie oath em, jr., from the hit musical hamilton, brotherly love, o.j.'s, philly pops, many, many more. after the concert the fantastic fireworks show. this year, that starts at ten tonight. it will be a fitting way to cap off the fourth of july holiday, nearly 10,000 people already got into the patriots i can spirit last night, as the philly pops played outside independence hall. the crowd enjoyed the patriots i can music in the shadow of the birth place of america, the concert also followed full day of events on the mall, including, a gigantic block party. it was abut full day for families who came out for the first time, for those who make the trip a tradition. >> it is not enough patriotism in this country today, and to see people say hey, i want to go out and see this, i'll enjoy the celebration of our country's birth, i think that's terrific.

silver liner five cars out of service after an inspector found one of them leaning. later engineers discovered cracks in the train's main suspension system. septa says it won't and problem on weekends and holidays, but tomorrow, and every other weekday, will be a headache. >> this is an all hands on deck situation for septa, we understand the profound weighs in which this will adversely affect our loyal riders. >> so the 120 cars make up about one third of septa's regional rail fleet. it is working with the train's manufacturer on affix which may not be completed until august. >> septa says the silver liner five cars arrived between 2010 and 2013. with those cars out of service, september happen will now rely heavily on it silver liner four fleet, in use for 40 years. >> our coverage continues on line, you can watch the entire news conference at cbsphilly.com. justin finch will also have more on the impact on commuters coming up at 5:00.

>> this morning, teenager dead after overnight shooting in grays ferry. this happened near the corner of moore and 31st streets around 12:30 this morning. a 16 year old boy was with a group of people in a backyard when shots were fired. he was transported to children's hospital, western he was pronounced dead. police have not yet released a description of the shooter or says what may have led up to the violence. oakland police are investigating a collision involving a car and a pedestrian. it happened early this morning, on the 800 block of the white horse pike. no word how the person who was hit is doing. >> right now, investigators are looking into possible arson spree in south camden. seven firefighters were hurt battling those fires, 12 times broker out over the course of the weekends, mostly in empty buildings. one of the fires even rose to two alarms. they all happened quickly which took its toll on the firefighters call to get them under control. >> some of them were because they were physically exhausted, from going from one

fire to the next. most of the fires went one right behind the other. >> and arson aoun sit now looking into those fires, investigators are asking anyone who may have seen something suspicious to give them a call. >> learning new details about a water craft crash that killed a man and his young son at the jersey shore. investigators say the boy who family friends tell us was just nine years old was sitting closest to the jet ski's controls. they're now looking into whether that may have played a factor in the crash. this all happened saturday afternoon, just before 5:00 in the patcongress creek. witnesses say two jet skis collided, the man on that other water craft was taken to shore memorial hospital. police say a homemade fire work likely caused a blast in new york city central park on sunday. it seriously injured a man who step on it, investigators do not believe the injured 19 year old or his friends took part in constructing the explosive. they are asking anyone with information to come forward. officials say the injured man underwent surgery on his left

welcome back, at least 140 people are dead after a truck bok explodes in baghdad, more than 200 others are hurt. >> is a.m. lake state claiming responsibility. then as correspondent wendy gillette tells us, the suicide bomber targeted busy shopping area just before the end of the muslim holiday, ramidan. >> flames inside a shopping mall lit up a dark baghdad neighborhood after a bomb in the back of a pick-up truck exploded early sunday. the carnage was substantial. more than 100 dead, including

at least 15 children, ten women, and six police officers. almost 200 other were injured. hours later, in daylight, crowds gathered to see the burned out building where most of the victims died. the suicide bomber struck just after midnight. in a popular commercial area lined with stores, and restaurants, in the downtown area. this man says after the bomb went off, people couldn't recognize their relatives because they were engulfed in fire. pope francis offered prayers for the victims, as well as for those killed and injured in the bangledesh attack friday. the islamic state has claimed responsibility for both and for an attack at istanbul's airport last week. >> this was the deadliest bombing in baghdad since also july. wendy gillette, for cbs news. >> for that young musicians from across the country joined the philadelphia orchestra from special performance

"eyewitness news" was right there at the 23rd street armory in rittenhouse square. the 14 to 17 year old, are part of the national youth orchestra. they are working with the philadelphia orchestra to fine tune their skills as part of the two week, intense i have summer training program. i think that's pretty neat. >> fine tuning, they're there. that's awesome. >> well, it is 4:43. >> sure is. katie is here with another check on your forecast, katie? >> yes, enjoying my nice little three day weaken here, now back at it foreign dependence day, mother nature's own fireworks very likely to start rolling in here, with, un for the lip, less than ideal timing. so we walk you through hour by hour, step-by-step, start things off with live view, very tranquil right now, out across spring garden and the broad street intersection, taken live from our very own station headquarters in the spring garden section of the city. but very tranquil right now, although clouds are starting to build in, and you see it waiting off in the wings here,

moisture starting to lift in from the southwest, as it fills in i think later on this afternoon likely be just spotty shower out there. see that in future weather. really the heaviest stuff looks like it waits until tonight, into the early morning hours of tomorrow. soap, here's what's going on, you have got warmfront lifting north. when this really lift north, not only is it bringing back the moisture content of the atmosphere, but in turn, the humidity and it turns awfully steamy the next couple of days, wait until you see the seven day it, get hot. some spots start out with plenty of sunshine for the first half of the day. but as the day progress, 8:00 a.m., nine, ten, 11, charts store rebuild, by say 3:00 some of could you pick up quick shower, through the state of delaware. then start to see the fireworks displays taking place, depending where you are, you may not have anything for good portion of the display, but right over philadelphia, right at 9:00 p.m., we've got some

>> we will eventually see wet weather overtake the region over the fourth of july. you hate to be the bearer of bad news, but looks like unfortunate timing for the fireworks displays, look what's happening first and for most, the moisture just beginning to build into the atmosphere, a lot of what you are finding out there, that's coming in in terms of the green speckles that you see on the radar, not actually verifying at the ground level yet. what it does show you the atmosphere is starting to moisten up, eventually will probably see little fine mist floating through portions of the delmarva pen inches last up by i95, clouds overtake the region and the rain does begin to do the same. so, as we look ahead to the fireworks forecast here, talking for philadelphia specifically low 70s at best here, for say the 9:00, 10:00 show here. thundershowers are going to be developing, how much, and placement is everything. looks like it won't be just a wall of rain that pushes in, rather scattered variety, but not looking ideal at the moment. so, the radar is going to be monitored for sure.

traffic flow will go, into the 6:00, 7:00. right now certainly are out there. 422 headlights westbound at trooper what you are looking at, there looking okay, but i want to pull your attention to this area. if you are in mt. laurel listen up, fatal accident. 259 at route 73. all northbound lanes are blocked right now. you will have to tuesday alternate around this route 70 west marlton pike, it will be your best bet. so again, very sad news this morning, coming out of mt. laurel, also we have some construction this morning, so 295 both directions between route 42 freeway and route 168. we do have a traffic shift in place, make note of that for those of you in and around that area. also take a look, we have some event closures because of the festivities today. outer drive of the ben franklin parkway is closed both directions, between art museum circle and 20th street from 5:00 a.m. today, until 5:00 a.m. tomorrow. so you will have to use alternate, girard avenue, the vine, jfk boulevard or market street will be your best bet, and i'll be of course tweeting this information out as well, joe, back to you. >> thank you very much.

>> the proclamation. >> oh, good morning, you guys, i have to say it is busy in the world of traffic, and we have some sad news coming out of mt. laurel, too, we have fatal crash on 295, all northbound lanes are block, i'll get to more of that in just a moment. >> so unfortunate to hear, starting the morning off. as you guys mentioned, things starting to shift in terms of the weather pattern here, so we start things offer by looking at storm scan3, take you out to the radar, things are definitely starting to moisten up in the atmosphere. a lot of times what you see not what you get when it comes to radarment sometimes you won't see anything, and it is actually raining at the ground level, sometimes you will see stuff that's not actually hitting the ground. that's what we're finding some of this out there. little hint every moisture granted, but maybe fine mist at worse at this point. that's as the clouds are starting build in across our area, as well, vinyl of things to come. zoom it out further, see steadier rain pockets beginning to creep up in, just approaching the west virginia border at this point, eventually will all lift in our
