matter how your travels will be unfold being, whether taking the rail, driving the roadways, you've got to give yourself extra time. always so tough a just getting back to work for the first day back for so many of us, but after a holiday kind of slow starter. but yes, it is a soggy start to the day here. and even you can still see if you look real close, you got to look closely, very high rainfall intense tip, so showing up yellow. there are some yellow lightning strikes embedded within this pocket of heavy rain. so cape may, cumberland county getting hit hard. flashflood watch posted there until 10:00 this morning, actually most of the region in the flashflood watch until further notice. where you have got some of the heavier rain falling, you also have flood advisory, just for this torrential rain that's falling. it will lead to ponding, and standing water on the roadways, you will be slowed down by this. so, even if you can't get out the door extra early, expect that you might be running late here. flashflood watch, we mentioned, till posted until 10:00 this morning, essentially region wide, places you don't have that watch are in the far inland

suburbs, also, headed up toward the lehigh valley and poconos, where it is just not the placement isn't quite right. so you don't have that rain falling in those locations quite as heavily. here's where we stand temperature wise. what's so often nice about summertime rain is that it bridges for the refreshing air mass. that doesn't happen this time. we are off to very warm, very muggy start, and it will stay that way for the remainder of the next five to seven days here, eventually lower humidity, but this will start a string of not just very warm days, but also, very humid days, and it is actually hotter today than it was yesterday. 88 degrees our eventual high, thankfully skies will start to clear. meisha? >> we were just talking about that, katie. welcome back to the real world. you are waking up this morning, and i can tell you, it is wet roadways. we all know cracking into the 5:00 hour what wet roadways on busy monday or tuesday will mean it, will mean problems. take a look at this, accident,

i-95 penn's landing put all the way off blocking right and left lane, right shoulder and left shoulder. what's happening is one of the vehicles had spun out. actually facing the wrong direction, facing oncoming traffic plus all of the stuff. satisfying brake lights go off there more than normally see cracking into the 5:00 hour in terms of volume levels, in terms every vehicles already on the roadway, so a the love you maybe took the day off yesterday. get jump start today. and it is looking wet, and it is looking a little bit messy out there. so this is is the schuylkill at the boulevard, both directions see it is just looking wet, looking hazy. what happens a lot of people think they can casino of gas it, a lot of vehicles on the roadways, they can hit a puddle and hydroplane, that's when we start to see the problems. ninety-five south at cottman, what you are looking at, see the headlight glaring on the roadway, how how wet it is out there. another accident out there. this one is in hopewell new jersey route 29 river road southbound before fiddlers creek road, all lanes blocked in this area. those of in you that area make note. we also have construction out

there delaware, 495 northbound, the ramp from hey road closed this will be closed until july 15th. also, what we are talking about all morning long, septa regional rails running saturday schedule because a third of the fleet are defective. you can expect over-crowding. you want to take the buses, high speed or trolley. also, make sure to check septa.org for all of the latest and greatest information. jim, over to you. >> thanks so much, meisha a well it, could be a tight squeeze today if you are riding septa's reginald rail. >> structural problem has side lined more than 100 cars. and that's expected to cause big problems for commuters. now, our team coverage begins with "eyewitness news" reporter justin finch live at suburban station, what's going on? >> reporter: brooke, jim, good morning, for many, suburban station is a final destination, but getting here today will not be an easy as it was just last week, as septa scrambles to keep up service now minus 120 of it regional rail cars. for at least the summer, septa will run a modified saturday schedule with extra rush hour

service. running as close to every half hour as possible. however, what these trains reach capacity, they'll bypass other symptoms. so, septa officials urge riders near center city to explore subway, trolley, bus options. the market frankford, broad street, norristown high speed lines, and route 101 and 101 trolleys will all expand rush hour service in the morning and evening. extra parking has been secured near philadelphia area septa transit hubs, and fees may apply. for septa, this is the new normal, until they bounce it back from losing 120 silver liner five cars brought on line between 2010 and 2016 their cost about $274 million. and now their lost bridges daily capacity down by 50% by some estimates. by chance friday, a septa inspector found cracks on local bearing beam, then similar cracks were found on more than 100 silver liner five cars. the fleet now pulled from

service and the trickle down we are told will be felt. >> we've already seen a lot of outreach from businesses in the area that have told their employees, you know, the challenges that you will have with coming in on regional rail. we do expect crowding conditions. >> it is even packed now, when you have seven cars going to trenton, so, i mean, have to leave earlier to go to work. >> and back live, again it, will not be assisi, very likely, for many people to get to suburban station this morning. pass holders keep your july fares. septa is working on fare credit system. septa is also in touch with manufacturer of their silver liner five as hyundai on finding part, how much, it will not be a quick fix. we are told a solution could take several weeks, meaning, the repairs could last the summer. so if you are traveling over the next comings weeks, months, on the regional rail lines be be sure to go on line
