justin finch continues our coverage at suburban station, hey, justin? >> brooke, jim, good morning, regional rail ride letters likely finds their commutes today bit more crowded than usualment some may choose to change their route altogether, this, as septa and it riders now adjust from losing about one third of their regional rail car service. let's take you now to tape here. today we are told septa is down about 13,000 feet, on it rales, so to adjust, septa is running a modified saturday schedule with rush hour service running as close as they can to every half hour. and once these trains are full, listen, they will bypass other stops. so septa officials urge riders, near center city, to explore subway, trolley and bus options. the market frankford and broad street lines, the norristown high speed lines, and route 101 and 102 trolleys, are expanding rush hour service in the morning and evening. you will also find extra parking near philadelphia area septa transit hubs, and fees

there could apply. for septa, this is the new normal until it restores 120 silver liner five rail cars brought on line between 2010 and 2016. costing about $274 million. their lost bridges daily rail capacity down by 50%, by some estimate. by chance, we are told, friday, a septa inspector found cracks on a load bearing beam, then similar cracks were found on more than 100 other silver liner five cars. >> i've been with septa for 26 years, in different capacities, and have never seen it from the standpoint where it was a fleet wide issue that would take that much, take that many vehicles out of service at once. this is unprecedented. >> reporter: as you heard, that septa officials ron hopkins say this is un precedent in the his experience here, back live here at suburban station,

we're en route to center city philadelphia this morning, and i got to say not a whole lot of people waiting on the platform. we were joined by about dozen people finally making our way to the city. one of the people, peter rocket here from lawrenceville. peter, were you expect to go see more people at the train station this morning, because there was only about dozen people who hopped on this train? >> i certainly was, especially with the weather, and some people are going to drive in, may have decided to take the trains, even though expect expecting crowded conditions, and usually get here right at 512. i was about 15 minute late this morning. i don't know if they were waiting for more people to show up, because many riders as they could on board, there is usually only two, three carson this train. this morning they have approximately five cars. and anticipation of the crowds. so far so good. >> so far so good. and as the septa officials have been saying, we expect very crowded conditions going closer to the city. when did you usually start to see these cars get really crowd in the when did you start to see this pick up?

after 2:00 a.m. police say the 27 year old man was shot once in the face. now, we managed to stagger half block before collapsing. officers returned in him to temple where he was pronounced dead. a car also shot twice. investigators are questioning eyewitnesses. >> also, this morning, philadelphia police are investigating the collision after suv in a car in east oaklane. investigators say, the suv driver had just left an argument when she hit the karat health end ham avenue and cover inning ton road. the man in the car was not involved in the argument, but did break his leg in this. >> and here is a warning, from police, in newark, delaware. they say a man has tried to abduct two women. the first attempt was late sunday night at the colonial gardens and the on east main street. a few hours later police say the manna tacked another woman outside main towers. both times the man grabbed the women from behind, but he ran away when the women fought back. police say they do have a vague description of the suspect. >> audubon new jersey now has 911 memorial.

we will, eventually, here talk about the dew point temperature, coming up. but i also have to check in with the eyewitness weather watchers, i must say, there are some folks really taking this in stride. you know, really is, i'll say it, uncomfortable outside. the amount of rain we saw is wonderful for our garden, and i eileen echoing that sentiment. right now overcast, 95% humidity, she said she ended up with inch of rainout of last night's system, just what her gardens and the lawns needed and she is thinking mother nature for that. now, i can't say that everybody is necessarily feeling that. it is, again, i use the word soupy. and that's exactly what david dutch said too. he has almost complete saturate, 99% humidity, dew point at 72. ya, it is really muggy outside. let me take to you just one more, we go further north in new jersey, 73, comes in this morning from peter. and he's actually got a little bit every rain falling, he sends this report within the last 15 minutes, so, within that range of time, we still had some rain pushing through central and northern new

jersey. at that point portions of the state still have flashflood watch posted. not everyone at this point southeastern pa has been taken out of the flashflood watch. but it remains for the rest of our region as a whole. dew point right now, okay, remember there is the lower that dew point gets, the drier the air mass, these are incredibly high dew points, in the low 70s, that's just feels so uncomfortable out there right now, and it will continue to feel that way. this is not a system that bridges with it refreshment, rather, we're only going to see humidity climb, and temperature dot same. so as we measure that moisture content it, will actually feel more oppressive than anything today. that will be running theme for us looking ahead. quick check on storm scan, we got to get you that, thankfully it looks like the worse of this now moving out to sea one left over heavy pocket across cape may county then start to see things wind down with time, and eventually, actually see these skies clear out nicely. so, it is more partly sunny as the day goes on, but look at the heat that builds here, low to mid 90s for four straight days with feels like values
