breaking news this morning a teen shot, the motive behind the gun fire in the city streets that sent a 13 year-old boy to the hospital just a few hours ago. and, worse commute, if you thought your trip to work yesterday was rough get ready we will show you reason septa officials a say today will be even more difficult. mega mayhem new mega jackpot up for grabs after yet another drawing with no big winner. meisha and i are pumping our fists here. it is wednesday, july 6th i'm jim donovan. i'm brooke thomas. we have a lot to tell but including that breaking news out of the city and your reason your lunch options could be limited. lets get started with the check of the forecast with katie and check of the roads

here, 322 black horse pike at route 54 all lanes blocked and all lanes are block here until 6:00 a.m. you will to have use an alternate. route 73 or jackson road is your best bet and some more construction out here as well that we touched base yesterday, 495, north the ramp at edgemore road, it is block until 5:00 a.m. and ramp from hey road is closed until july 15th. jim, over to you. philadelphia police investigating shooting of two teenagers in two different incident. we got this picture from east germantown where a young girl was shot just a after 3:00 a.m. in the area of blloyd and east woodlawn street. that boy was rush to nearby einstein hospital in stable condition n word on the motive or suspect. philadelphia police think road rage is behind another teen being shot in hunting park. >> the victim in thins dentist a 13 year-old boy. year-old boy is now in stable condition here at st. christopher's, suffering from a gunshot to his right leg, likely fired police say in a fit of road rage, about 11:30 last night, 25th district officers pulled up to the 4300 block of darien street in hunting park where neighbors say 25 people ranging from two years old to young adults were outside enjoying the night and then that gunfire. police report at least eight shots fired from a large caliber semiautomatic gun, that 13 year-old was hit in his right leg just feet from his front door and was driven by loved ones in their car to st. christopher's. although shots were fired we are told from a newer model, vehicle possibly 2015 or 2016 honda. it is a car that witnesses and victim tell detectives that

they saw just minutes earlier. that first time the car reportedly almost struck a group of children playing on darien, that set off an argument between woman driver and pedestrians who were nearly struck. when that car return there was a man in the passenger seat and witnesses say he was armed. >> when the vehicle stopped at the intersection, of bristol and darien, the front seat passenger, the male, reportedly exited the vehicle and began firing shots north on darien street, just firing at a crowd, we know at least eight shots were fired. >> reporter: back live that 13 year-old boy is recovering and in stable condition when they say gunshot wound to his right leg, likely the victim of a stray bullet fired in a road rage incident. police at this hour are looking for a white newer model vehicle possibly a 2015 or 2016 honda, east detectives

are on the case this morning as well, and police say surveillance cameras in the area may have got a glimpse of that car. we are live outside st. christopher's i'm justin finch for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". thanks, justin. obviously solving issues. >> brace yourself, it is day two of the septa's regional rail problems and transit authority warns today could be worse for commuters. there were crowded platforms and packed trains on tuesday the first day back to work after the july 4th holiday. it is forced to run one-third less of a fleet. chaos could be more of a problem today when more use the rails to return to work after the long holiday weekend. our coverage continues on line, for a complete list of the septa's rail service changes plus more information about refunds septa is offering to some customers, head to cb. philly.com or use the cbs local app. this woman is in jail after police say she pepper sprayed a septa bus driver and passenger in a wheelchair. investigators say it happened when driver stop at fifth street in west olney avenue. they say driver was assisting a driver in the wheelchair when woman attack. that woman was angry because she thought the bus passed her by earlier. she ran away after the attack but officers caught up with her quickly. and take a look at this attack caught on camera near temple university. we have our hand on this surveillance video from last month showing a group of men knocking a man down on the 1600 block of cecil b more avenue and then punching and kicking him in the head. man told police suspect took his wallet and cell phone. police think all of the suspects are teenage boys.

and, hillary clinton is bringing her campaign to at atlantic city toy day. presumptive democratic nominee campaigned with president obama for the first time, yesterday in charlotte. today clinton will make a noon time speech in front of the boardwalk hall. she plans to highlight quote the destruction of donald trump's business dealings caused in the sea side town. on friday she head back to pennsylvania where she will campaign alongside vice-president joe biden in his home town of scranton where she also has family ties. meanwhile donald trump is campaigning in cincinnati, ohio with former house speaker newt gingrich, he is reportedly on his vice-presidential short list, and trump is criticizing the decision not to prosecute clinton saying it is proof, the system is rigged. well, there is more mega in the mega millions jackpot. >> there is no winner for big prize last night jackpot is now 508 million-dollar. the next drawing is friday

happening right now oscar pistorius was just sentenced for the murder of his girl friend back in 203. judge ordered the former olympian known as the blade runner to spend the next six years in prison. pistorius was facing a much longer sentence but sentenced to six years in prison. city of chicago passes an ominous threshold over the holiday weekend, more than 30 people were shot in a span of

just 15 hours. that brings total number of people shot in that city this year, to 2,021. in all of last year, 2,988 victims of gun violence in chicago. parts of the the twin cities are under water after severe weather drops rain and hail. storms that moved through yesterday, also, had wind gusts, some of which were 70 miles an hour. one of the affected cities, morris to the west of minneapolis received 5 inches of rain. 125,000 customers were in the dark just last night and crews had to rescue several people from their cars which were caught in the floods. all right. this is a setback for philadelphia's food truck industry. on june 6th, the fire started in one of the trucks parked in the warehouse that houses a economist czar any brewerytown. blaze destroyed some trucks and damaged others. while some trucks were spared they cannot operate without a cert fight working commissary. commissary's owner says land

driver ended up looking inside to try to find his id to return the bag. that is when he he saw the money. >> i saw 40 bundles, with piles, all bun also of 50's and hundred's, yes. >> he then drove to police headquarters and turned the money in. it turns out it was part of the inheritance police track the man down, the passenger and guess what the driver got for a reward? >> give the cabdriver a tip? he said, yeah. he pulled out 100 of that pile, one little hundred dollar bill and gave me the hundred. when i got in the cab police officer said wait a minute you want a ride back to the motel. >> my goodness. >> that is sad. >> hundred dollars. >> i would not take you on vacation but would i give you more than a hundred dollars. >> redeeming yourself. >> that is unbelievable. >> wow. >> crazy. >> but that is a good news.

>> great man. >> good things will happen to him good karma. >> paying it forward in a big way. let's give the guy more than a hundred bucks. we switch gears and talk about the weather, heat is a main weather head line here, humidity, very steamy couple of days here. looking outside on storm scan we are promising to start off on a quiet note here, beautiful sunrise anticipated. we can expect more sun then anything all day to day but with that the sun gets strong this time of the year and will heat things up efficiently and we will get in the 90's here today, and it will start to feel more so like triple digit territory in the height of the afternoon. all is calm for now, there will be a couple scattered showers and thunderstorms which we will get to. as we look at feels like values, we are on par with the actual air temperature is in most locations. what you see is what you get. it is steamy outside but once sun comes up those feels like values will change. i have to show you how it feels though even right now,

wave? >> it looks that way. >> it does look like that. >> the good news is roadways are nice and dry but we have one accident that popped up a and construction out there. we will get to that in a moment. this is time of the day that is so perfect for construction because we have to deal with the heat, humidity and in the a lot of volume on the roadways. perfect timing for those guys, as meisha mentioned it should get out of the way relatively soon. one thing that is not going anywhere is the heat. we have nice clear sky on storm scan what will happen as sun comes up you will heat up out there. it will heat up efficiently to the point that we're easily in the 90's today and several days beyond this point. storm scan may be quiet, it is looking awfully innocent right now but we have these side issues of the heat and humidity to make it awfully uncomfortable. here's your excessive heat warning for 95 down to new castle county and count that is flange it, as far inland as eastern chester count which heat index values of a hundred degrees. th
