"eyewitness news" reporter jan carabao is live at the train station in ardmore as septa tries to find its return its side line railcars to service, jan, good morning. >> reporter: brooke and jim, good morning. the passengers are happy to hear today's commute could be worse then yesterday. there was frustration out here on the platforms ape surprisingly we only have a couple people here this morning. i just check into one woman sitting and waiting for this train. she came out earlier today because of the frustration and waiting yesterday. first train that comes through ardmore station here is expect to depart right around 5:06 a.m. in a couple minutes. these stations closer to the city as anticipated are feeling the biggest impact of

the regional railcar shortage during peak hours of the yesterday's morning rush passengers saw trains roll right past them filled to capacity. commuters also reported a number of delays and evening commute was no better, platforms were absolutely pack. this comes after septa pulled one-third of the regional rails off the tracks late last week after a structural defect was found. crack equalizer beams on the silver liner five cars are being repaired, those cars were built back in 2010 at hyundai rotem facility in south philadelphia. transportation workers union local 234 released a statement accusing septa officials about knowing about those defects for at least a month, septa spokesperson, however shot back with the statement refute ago this charge. now unfortunately septa says fix will not be a fast one. regional rail will be operating on this modified saturday schedule until further notice. officials encourage riders to

caught her a few minutes later and placed her under arrest. more on the breaking story, philadelphia police think red rage led to gunfire in hunting park. >> "eyewitness news" reporter justin finch is live to bring us up to dayton this investigation, justin what is going on there. >> reporter: brooke and jim, good morning. police are saying that the victim is 13 year-old boy in stable condition at st. christopher's suffering from the single gunshot wound to his right leg. police do not plea of he was intended target but they say likely struck by a stray bullet and what appears to be a road rage incident. lets go now to video from overnight by 1:30 last night 25th district officers were on the scene on the 4300 block of darien street, called to report some shots fired. east detectives would soon follow. on that hunting park block neighbors say some 25 people were gathered ranging from two to young adults in their mid 20's and then several gunshots were fired.

the 13 year-old was hit in the leg just feet from his home and driven by loved ones to st. christopher's. he would have a single gunshot wound to his right leg and witnesses say those shots were fired by a man riding in the newer model white vehicle possibly a honda and they saw that car minutes earlier but he was not inside. five to ten minutes before they say the car reportedly almost struck a group of children playing on darien, that set off an argument between would the man driver and pedestrians almost struck, moment before the shots were fired that car came back, this time, with that man and his gun. >> i was putting trash out and i just heard gunshots. i ran around the corner. >> based on ballistics evidence we know that at least eight shots were fired from a large caliber semiautomatic weapon. >> and again that victim here is recovering at st. christopher's hospital in stable condition with a single gunshot wound to his right leg

and only 13 years old. that woman identified victim as a unk toll her grandchildren. she says he is a nice guy, well known and loved on the block and believes this was a case of him being in the wrong place at the wrong time. again east decks are investigating hoping to find surveillance video that will give them a look at the car involve in this incident. we are live from st. christopher's i'm justin finch for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". jim and brooke back to you. a teenage girl is in critical condition but expected to survive after she was shot while her friend were playing with the gun. fourteen year-old girl was shot inside a home on the 5600 block of boyd street in ease germantown around 3:00 this morning. police recovered a handgun and rifle from the roof of the home nearby and investigators are searching for friend involved in that shooting. happening today there is a preliminary hearing for two women charge in the murder of sandra boyd bryant.
