talking hundreds upon hundreds of beach umbrellas lining the shore towns here, and that's going to be the theme i would say through the next couple of days. couple safety tips, all common sense type stuff. wear light colored loose fitting clothing, the benefit of climb al controlled studio like i do, but just keep that in mind, really good way to help beat the heat, keep that waking off of you, drink plenty of water the beverage of close. draw the blind during the day, if you don't have the benefit of air-conditioning, just keep in mind, too, if you park on the path specially indirect sunlight your car will turn into an oven in a matter of minutes. makes sure to check on the elderly, they can't regulate their temperature quite as easily, all important common sense type stuff. we always like to remind you. looking at storm scan, actually little round every thunderstorms that rumble through the southern most delmarva peninsula, did barely clip sussex county but pretty much out of here at this point at the scene. in the midst of weak area of high pressure keeping things bright, sunny, and toasty.
12:21 pm
in the meantime, some pretty nasty thunderstorms currently errupting across central missouri eventually going to see some showers, some thunderstorms though in the days ahead, to help cool some of you off. the course, jet stream well off to the north keeping us very far away from any cooling that will take place, will take couple of days, easily mean spike to the 90s with no problem the next few days, factor in the building humidity that comes along with it, it feels like closer to 100 folks the next couple of afternoon. so when you look at dew point like this, six a, remember, that's your benchmark where it begins to feel muggy outside. 60s pretty much across the board here, not as harsh just yet, or pressed, up at mount pocono, you have dew point of 75 both wildwood, dover, and that's sticky conditions, will continue in the next couple of days. another side effect of this kind of pattern is air quality that's far less than ideal. we do have alert out for those
12:22 pm
would be falling into the sensitive category that's little unhealthy for you. elderly, children, and if you got any casino of respiratory illness because basically the summertime sunshine and heat bake the pollutants together at the grounds level, and then you have unhealthy levels of grounds level ozone. that's where that comes from. so we have hot verb coming up the next couple of days, hey, are we approaching records? not quite. it will feel close to record territory. won't count but will feel like it. mid 90s the next couple of days, break the heatwave by sunday, and by that point, as well, humidity thankfully starts to lessen. couple of scattered showers, storms along the weatherer cool few every us offer, won't be terribly widespread either. not everyone gets that. >> thanks so much, katie. >> ten recalling 10,000 hoverboards because the batteries inside can over heat annex provide. recall affect some of the most popular brands like swag way, officials say there have been
