temperatures and we are sitting at 93 degrees, 1 degree off the high that got the to 94. eighty-eight in wilmington. ninety-two in trenton. ninety-one in reading. this time of the year, it is almost more as important as temperatures is humidity and dew points are rising. right now to point in philadelphia is 65. that is a steamy range. you can see off to the south we have dew points in the 70's already in wilmington, in millville and down in dover and wildwood dew point right now is coming in at 77 degrees. dew points climbing in the 70's tomorrow in philadelphia, putting us back in the oppressive range. so here's what to expect through the next couple of days, temperatures in the low to mid 90's, heat index values near 100 degrees, definitely check with stephanie you have to try to beat this heat any waste you can. drink water. avoid outdoor strenuous activity that is non-essential and working outside take frequent breaks, try to find a shady spot to cool off, and these heat can come up quickly. heading in the weekend things

a north wildwood family makes an impassioned plea to the thief who stole their american flag on the fourth of july. >> that flag had a very special meaning to the family, it flew in tribute to the loved one who paid the ultimate sacrifice. our alexandria hoff has the story. >> reporter: tom corkran does not have a flagpole in front of his home in north wildwood but he did have a flag in need of flying. so, many years ago he turn to his next door neighbor. >> he says, would you mind, flying my brother's flag, you know, from vietnam and i knew about it. i say i would be very proud. >> reporter: in june of 1969 patrick corkran a graduate of father judge high school died off the coast of vietnam when april australian carrier collided with their naval destroyer. he was 19. >> seventy-four sailors lost their lives. >> reporter: patrick's body never came home but folded

experiment, correct. >> we are indeed. this is, really to illustrate how dangerous this heat can be especially if you leave kid, and everything in the the hot car, 5:15 we sent justin drabick downstairs in the completely air conditioned vehicle, it was 60 degrees at the time. now it has been an hour and justin will check that temperature for us, hi there justin. >> that is right, we have been out here, in the shade and on the ground, we reached 130 degrees on the blacktop but here we go 94 degrees. this is hottest temperature of the season so far, this is taking a lot out of us right now but true test is the car. let this be a warning you hear to not leave children, pets inside the car without air conditioning, because things cranked up. lets check current temperature right now, i got, 123.8 degrees. that is some serious heat. when we hear that advice obviously we will take it, and this heat will continue really for next several days. this is within one hour. typically, the car will warm

up about 70 degrees in just five minutes and in one hour almost 50 degrees, no matter what conditions. make sure you have windows down air conditioning going. so everybody stay safe this summer, and have a good one, stay cool for the next several days. but there is relief as far as heat and humidity goes with the seven day forecast. >> i have to tell you ukee is celebrating because his guess was 120 and he was right on point with that, 123. >> wow. >> right on. >> i mean it is not something to celebrate but it is crazy how quickly that car went from 60 degrees to 123 degrees and cracking a window does not help, may help a little bit but not knocking a degree or two off 13 does not help at all. we have clear skies, no problems outside right true as we zoom out we will see showers and storms over ohio valley. these are making their way in tomorrow, tomorrow is a day like today but slightly more humid and features better chance for showers and storms especially in the afternoon.

today's high 94 degrees, making it hottest day so far, our average high 87, we are 7 degrees above average today. tomorrow very similar but we are going to go feel steamy, thanks to increase in humidity. highs today, we got to 92 millville. ninety-one allentown. ninety-four in philadelphia. twenty-nine in reading. this is not unusual, this is hottest part of the year in philadelphia but when we talk about heat index values like we are seeing tomorrow, this is still kind of heat you have to take seriously. tomorrow at 5:00 p.m. will feel like 100 in dover. feeling like 98 here in philadelphia allentown recording 78, that is because i'm betting showers and thunderstorm popped up on the model there and quickly dropped temperature and raises right backup again. future heat index friday afternoon still very hot with temperatures in the 90's and heat index, values near 100 degrees. the lets talk about those showers and storms, today as we have seen it is quiet. tomorrow starts off with sunshine but right after the lunch hour around 1:00 we will

see these hit or miss showers or storms pop up. any shower or storms could bring relief for april hour or two in the wake but any of these storms could bring locally heavy rainfall. little pockets of yellow, orange, we have moisture to work with and these could slow things down in the afternoon drive wraps, or at least from about the lunch hour through afternoon drive showers and storms will be around and they could be locally heavy. even at 7:00 o'clock heavy rain possible with any shower or then are storm. that clears out thursday night, friday looks like a quiet day, a few showers or storms that pop up here and there friday evening and friday night but tomorrow looks like not only hottest most humid day but you day with the best chance, this workweek at least for locally heavier thunderstorms. currently cloudy, muggy, 76 the low, feels like 80 all night long. thursday 94, hot and humid with scattered storms in the afternoon. we can see them down the shore 86 degrees down the shore tomorrow. better but boy is it humid even down the shore, friday,
