venue. we will talk to katie live on the skydeck, you have important news, because the heat can actually be dangerous. >> absolutely, another day of excessive heat out here, still quite warm, even at this hour, and the sun has not even yet risen over the horizon, once it does, it will be very efficient heat that takes place here, yet again we expect to sky rocket back to the 90s here at the local level. quick peak what's happening on storm scan, at the moment, thankfully, not too much taking place right now, you have got a hands full of clouds here, there, but generally speaking it is just a quiet start, all be it very muggy start to the day. here is a look at the excessive heat warning once more, we do still have it in effect until 6:00 tonight across the i95 corridor, and all point to up mercer county from basically new castle, right up to mercer county, so, still the same zone in for the worse of that heat here today. temperatures, as they stand right now, low mid upper 70s, being reported across the region, dew points still very, very high as well with this, so again, very steamy start to the day, and steamy day just in general.

i would call it a good start to the day if you want to hit the pool. but later on today, there will be some showers, some thunderstorms that begin to fire up. and coming up a bit later, i'll tell you exactly when the storms are likely to arrive, and will the what impact will be. we'll sit in some spots in slight risk for severe weather. more details later in the show. >> katie, thank you so much. guys, i want to pull your attention to this very serious accident, the boulevard northbound at ridge avenue. all lanes blocked, looks like far left lane just opening right now, and it sounds like this accident is involving a motorcyclist. never good. this is the season when we are jumping on motorcycles, so just make sure we pay a tension to that, again, that's what this accident is involving, it looks like they are just starting to open the far left lane right now, but you can see, crews, it will really slow you down, not only are they going to be remedy the situation, but also you'll get a lot of gaper delay because of it, especially whenever we have this many crews out there. so again, accident happened

here, boulevard northbound at ridge avenue. and it looks like that far left lane is only lane getting by. going to be slow there. blue route, taillights moving in the southbound direction, this is at ridge pike, looking actually okay, out there, when we look at the schuylkill, this is what you are looking at, there tail light moving in the eastbound direction past king of prussia, 422, tail light moving in the eastbound direction near the turnpike looking really nice, on 422, another accident outside horsham, not yet cleared, take a look at this, if you are just waking up with us, county line roadblocked between blair mill road and meeting house road. we have downed pole and wires. you will have to use an alternate. right now it is street road there. construction new jersey turnpike southbound between burlington mt. holly at route 73, two right lanes block, indeed, still block, haven't cleared early, and also more construction route 422 westbound between sanatoga and arm around hammer boulevard. overall two accident what i mainly want to point out for this traffic hit right now, boulevard northbound at ridge avenue and also the second one in horsham. i'll let you know as soon as

those clear. that will construction still lingering out there, as well, brooke, over to you. >> more on the breaking news we're following this morning, downtown dallas texas is a crime scene after police say snipers shot and killed four police officers and a transit officer. >> the gunfire errupted during demonstrations over police involved shootings in minnesota and louisianna. justin finch is live in our cbs-3 sat center with details on the ambush and courage of civilians, justin? >> jim, just minutes ago, from poland, president obama called the ambush vicious and twisted and promised resources for dallas a law enforcement advocacy group said it was the deadliest attack for law enforcement since september 11. dallas mayor is: asking is the it i -- city to come together, what he calls the worse nightmare for dallas, four dead, six wounded, there is also word a civil yan was injured, shot trying to shield her children from gunfire, she was hit in her right calf.

those shots rang out close to 9:00 p.m. thursday, fired as a rally in support of alton sterling every louisianna and philandco castile of minnesota. both men died in police custody this week. dallas. >> reporter: those were fired from high platforms, targeting officers below. crowds ran for cover. then, hours later, came report after gunman holdup in a highrise parking garage, took his own life. three other suspect are in custody, two men and one woman, police chief, david brown, says, there could be more out there. >> we still don't have a complete comfort level that we have all of the suspects. so we will continue a very, very rigorous investigation and search of downtown, we are likely to be working throughout the early morning hours of friday until we are

satisfied that all suspects have been captured. >> and, this morning, the fbi is working with dallas police on the investigation, as you heard, downtown dallas remains a crime scene. officials expect to reopen buildings and streets in the area slowly over the next several hours. jim, back over to you. >> thank up, justin, if you watch it. >> v coverage of the shoot cents last night or followed along on social media, you likely saw picture after man named person of interest in the shooting. >> it turns out, it was a mistake. this picture was plastered all over the place. the man, his name mark hughes, he attended a rally in dallas, he was wearing a camouflage shirt and caring a large rifle which is legal in dallas. overnight police questioned hughes, and released him clearing him of any wrong-doing. >> hey, i mean, i don't know what to say, i can't believe it, i can't believe it. >> crazy thing about it, i was down here, i couldn't get to my vehicle because.

roadblock. and in hindsight 20/20 i could have easily been shot. >> mark went on to say he was interrogated for 30 minute, now afraid for his own life after receiving multiple death threat. >> well, in other news, the state department is re-opening it investigation into hillary clinton's use after private e-mail server, while secretary of state. the move was expected, fbi director james comey testified about the agency's investigation yesterday, on capitol hill. the state department probe will focus on whether current employees should be punished for how they handled clinton's emails. >> in the presidential race, hillary clinton returns to the campaign trail today, will be in our area, vice president joe biden will make his first appearance with clinton in his hometown every scranton this afternoon. clinton also has family ties to that area. the presumptive democratic nominee then makes her way to philadelphia, she'll deliver the keynote speech at the conference for the african methodist episcopal church tonight at the pennsylvania convention center. she is also expected to address the police-involved

shootings in baton rouge and minnesota. on the republican side, donald trump is expected to make a policy speech today in miami. this follows a contention us meeting he had with republican law makers in washington on thursday. after the meeting, trump tweeted: it was a very interesting day. later, former rival, ted cruz, saidel speak at the republican national convention in cleveland over a week away, texas senator said no discussion of any endorsement. septa commuters are in for another hot morning on packed rail cars. delays and crowded trains have been the norm for the commuters this week, while defective rail cars get emergency repairs, some trains have bypassed crowded platforms, also running slower because of speed restrictions caused by the excessive heat. also, uber and the philadelphia parking authority have a deal to help travelers during the septa rail crunch, and the dnc. the two sides put the brakes on their bitter regulatory battle yesterday, and actually shook hands during news conference. the deal allows the ride sharing service to offer in
