this is cbs-3 eye conditions news this morning. now, in week two of septa's train troubles and some relief may be here. we're live with the changes in store for riders on the regional rails this morning. >> in the street for a fifth night demonstrators in philadelphia voice their frustrations with the recent fatal police shootings in louisianna and minnesota. coming up we'll tell you about another protest planned for this morning. >> and "eyewitness news" on the keen at the fast moving fire sends a philadelphia firefighter to a hospital overnight. well today is monday, july the 11, good morning, i'm jim donovan. >> i'm brooke thomas. we're getting your day started as always with a check on weather and traffic with katie and meisha a good morning. >> yes, good morning, here we go, guys, monday morning, starting off a brand new week.

anchoring itself over our area, beautiful day unfolding because of it, so gone are the muggy days, at least for now, starting off on pretty mild note in most locations at least from i95 on southeast. dairy say actually cool headed up toward the mountain us terrain, going to be one of those nice excuses to get outside today. just absolutely beautiful. poolside is a great place to go, uv index is up there, so sun block required, but you will not have to deal with that oppressive humidity, in fact, it is very low, with the lighter winds, and the sunshine, meisha, i'll go ahead and say it, it looks like a great hair day. so go for the under cat hairstyle. your hair low looks lovely, by the way. >> katie, your hair always look lovely. thanks, katie. good morning, everyone being happy monday, great news, for a loft house care about our hair washings it looks like maybe moving out the door. but for the rest every us the roadways are looking great. we have a disable truck, blue route, upper darby, won't

cause too many slow dawns, still very quiet. that's would we can expect at 4:30. monday heat up fairly quickly. vine open, it was not closed overnight for the construction, so looking good, both moving in the westbound and eastbound directions. ninety-five south at cottman coming around the s curve see how nice and quiet it is still looking this morning, we do have a first accident out there this morning, norristown, main street franklin street, for those of you in and around that area, not going to cause too many slow downs either. construction delaware, the on ramp for route 202 is closed until july 20. jim, over to you. >> thank so much, meisha a finally good news if you rely on septa trains to get now work. things should, should, be a lot smoother today. septa released new schedule with more trains, now you know it has been a week since septa pulled third of it rail fleet out of service. "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo live in glennside, where the first train to philly was supposed to leave few minutes ago, jan, what's happening? >> reporter: brooke, jim, good morning, septa is promising bit of relief poor regional

rail rider today. they have added 1700 seat, thanks to leasing agreement with other transit agencies. first side left this glennside station, downed for center city on time at 4:22 this morning, but it is not this part of the commute that has seen problems. it is the morning rush. that really picks up around 6:00. soap, we'll have to see how the morning commute develops little later. but starting today, septa regional rail is operating an interim weekday schedule. septa is adding trains and stops and departure times just as lightly, as well. changes will possible through lease agreement with amtrak, nj transit, mark and maryland. septa has access to three additional locomotives, 18 more passenger cars. added capacity will hopefully provide relief to riders who have been frustrated for about a week now dealing with crowded coors, delays, bypassing trains, septa is still figuring out how to bring 120 side line silver line rail cars back to service. they've been taken off because

of structural defect. with them, about 13,000 seat on regional rails. while most ride remembers happy septa caught the problem before something serious happened, many say the issue has been more than a little inconvenience. >> they caught this before anything serious happened to anyone, and that of course is the good part about it. it would have been nice if they checked the trains regularly and discovered this little sool err, but at least nothing happened. >> i have to get up at 5:00 a.m. every morning, i am a walking zombie. >> now, septa is urging riders to check the new schedule frequently, because it could change and of course we have a link for you for every change on every line on cbsphilly.com. for now, reporting live at the glennside station, jan carabeo, cbs-3, "eyewitness news", brooke, jim, back into you. >> thanks, jan. >> new this morning, philadelphia fire fight is her hurt in a overnight house fire. >> fire happened in the 5300 block of west berk street, in overbrook, just before 1:15

have morning, firefighter quickly got it under control. one was taken to the hospital, luckily, with non-life threatening injuries. no word yet on what caused the fire. >> city hall will be the backdrop from protest this morning, over deadly police shootings. it is sponsored by predominantly white group called showing up for racial justice. it will start at 8:00 a.m. >> last night, demonstrations continued in philadelphia, over the police involved killings of two black men in louisianna and minnesota. dozens march from 40th and market, in west philadelphia, to penn's landing. "eyewitness news" caught up with them near 24th and market in center city, that protest was peaceful. >> in baton rouge, demonstrator toss add trash can at approaching swat teams, as protests continued over the fatal police shooting of alton sterling. police arrested up to 40 people in a unscheduled protest late last night. police have made over 100 arrests there since friday. >> president obama will travel

to texas tomorrow to visit with the victims of the dallas police massacre. this is new video of the president arriving at joint base in maryland, cut his european trip short. meanwhile investigators are pouring over more evidence in the home of shooter micah johnson there is includes his journal. dallas police chief calls them ramblings. also, why he scrawled rb in blood before killed. they believe he was planning an even larger attack. >> civilian victim shot during the massacre cried sunday as she thanked dallas police. taylor was at the black lives matter protest with her sons when the shootings started. >> i saw another officer -- i saw another officer get shot. >> taylor said she will continue supporting the black lives matter movement and she wants to see the police and

convention. the convention committee scheduled news conference to announce plans to showcase philadelphia's tech community, while the democrats are in town. press release from the committee says the announcement will include what it calls unprecedented technology efforts. well, a close call at a spa in the northeast after truck went right through a wall. >> this happened at the hand and stone massage and facial spa. it is inside shopping center at grant avenue and blue grass road. the driver had just left the parking lot of nearby giant and for whatever reason he went through an intersection and right into the building. spa manager was inside and felt the impact. >> you know, we felt the building shake, we weren't sure what was happening, i assumed it came from outside. so i ran outside, and that's whether i saw the guy in a truck and bleeding. >> fortunately, no one was in the room at the time. the driver was taken to area health torresdale. police suspect the driver may have had a seizure right before the crash. the wall is expected to be

are going to feel super fresh. they just came from one of our many nearby farms. we're focusing on fresh so you don't have to guess. my giant. >> berry is in a hospital after he apparently chanced during a concert. >> this is video posted on instagram. watch as he rests on the edge of the stay stage near the drums, eventually, walking back stage where he then collapsed. the band played on after perry left. he was performing with the group the hollywood vanpires which includes singer alice cooper and actor johnny dep. sixty-five year old was taken to coney island hospital. alice cooper late dollars tweeted he was in stable condition. there is no word on the extent of perry's illness.

>> it is always tough your first day back to work, but a day like this, it makes it easier, comfortable want to expect here today, light winds. pretty much doesn't get better than that, right? courtesy of high pressure hooking us up with the nice fair weather. we'll keep the pattern going at least for a day or two before we begin to see any kind of up tick in humidity. for now storm scan nice and quiet as you might expect. meanwhile, what you can expect for the early part of the week, easily today as well as tomorrow, low humidity, dry conditions, seasonable warmth, so still talking mid upper 80s, here, but that's exactly where we should be. it is basically the height of the meteorological summer season right now, lot of sunshine to go along with it, here's how it pans out, looking at the seven day, slow creep on the thermometer with every passing day, by wednesday, starting to heat up certainly here. there will eventually be some clouds out there as the day progresses but we do flirt with 90. notice bit of up tick in the humidity, and officially hit the 90s on thursday, friday, and both days it looks like
