seat of the victim's car when at alleged gunman made his getaway. infant was recovered unharmed about a hour later in another state. good afternoon, i'm ukee washington. aim jessica dean. child was found safe in philadelphia more than 30 miles from where his father was shot in pittsgrove, new jersey. our cleve bryan joins us live from the shooting scene with the latest on this investigation, cleve? >> reporter: jessica, police still cannot say why, one man and another got into a fight here on the street in penns grove. but he shot the first man, and then temporarily took his son. >> terrified. >> reporter: saturday afternoon ti theagea johnson heard gunshots and a scream outside her penns grove home she will never forget. >> girl screaming, we were outside screaming. >> reporter: across south broad street yasminute was with her boyfriend who was slum and begins the cemetery fence bleed to go death. police say just moments ago ingram exited the driver side of the volkswagen and got in the argument with hakeem

williams who shot ingram multiple times. when taylor got outside to help williams stole the car and drove off with the couple's one year-old son. police began tracking the car using gps on ingram's mobile phone still in the stolen car. they got a location near frank behind square in philadelphia and about to issue an amber alert when philadelphia police got a call from the woman who spot the car with the baby in the back seat. >> it breaks my heart. that poor baby, you know, i'm glad he was/kay. >> reporter: taylor and his son were reunited but inn gram died. williams turned himself into philadelphia police and will face a extradition hearing later this week. if he waves extradition it could be several weeks before he faces murder, kidnapping, and other charges here in salem county. >> it is just something that you do not want to see. but when like it is like this. >> reporter: police say that williams is behind bars in philadelphia, on one million-dollar bond, and, that

yasmen taylor's family says that the child is doing okay, they plan to have a funeral later this week for ingram. live from penns grove, cleve bryan, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> all right cleve, thank you. an early morning protest snarled traffic throughout center city philadelphia this morning. chopper two was overhead as the philadelphia chapter of the showing up for racial justice took to the streets. the group stopped at city hall where they called on mayor kenney and city officials to take a stand for black lives, following the recent shooting deaths of the two plaque men at the hand of police. "eyewitness news" reporter greg argos takes a look at what organizers are hoping to achieve as philadelphia police are responding to the protesters, greg. >> reporter: jessica, this protest this morning marks the sixth straight day of protests here, in the city of philadelphia, and with the dnc just two weeks away commissioner richard ross says his officers, his men and women will practice patients with protesters, who will demonstrate, in the national

some protesting were pushed back by an armored vehicle and arrested. officers got the protesters who were in the middle of the street demonstrating against killing of the 37 year-old alton sterling, last week. meanwhile funeral arrangements have been announced for some of the five police officers killed by a snipper touring a protest in dallas on thursday. investigators say gunman had planned for a even bigger attack. danielle nottingham has very latest from dallas. >> reporter: police officers held a moment of silence outside dallas police headquarters at the memorial to the five fallen officers. police say gunman micah johnson had been planning an even bigger attack, cbs news that is learned that johnson had hundreds of round of magazines attached to his body, indicating he was ready to try to kill more people. bomb on a police robot killed him. >> this wasn't an actual dilemma for me. i would do it again, you see. i would do it again to save our office are lives. >> reporter: dallas police chief david brown praised his

department. he says he is committed to community policing and encouraged those who have problems with law enforcement to be part of the solution. >> get out there and protest line and put an application in. we will put you in your neighborhood and we will help you resolve some of the problems you are protesting about. >> reporter: wakes will be held for three of the officers tomorrow, with funerals planned for later in the week. detective margaret is part of the department's honor guard. >> it still even seems unreal almost like we will see them again but once we start getting to the funerals, and that is when everything will come crashing down and that is when it will be very, very real that we will never see them again. >> reporter: president obama is scheduled to speak at a memorial service for the officers on tuesday. danielle nottingham for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> septa says more trains are needed in addition to the fleet of already leased trains to help with overcrowding. third of the regional rail

coming on the heels of the last weeks heat. yesterday turnout nice once we got rid of the cloud in the afternoon but today, it has been perfection from start to finish. lets count down the ways, that this has been a perfect summer day. we have had comfortable temperatures, low humidity, sunny skies, light breeze and you just can't beat today. low humidity this time of the year is crucial and that is what we have got. temperatures are right about seasonable, in fact maybe a couple degrees below average. eighty-seven is normal. we are at 85. eighty-four in reading and allentown. eighty-four in millville. here's the big piece of the puzzle dew points are in the 50's. dew point is 65. wilmington 57. that put us in the pleasant range and we're not really feeling an increase in humidity tonight so maybe be able to give that air conditioning a rest but it is back to heat and humidity later this week. i will time out when we will get to the 90's and when thunderstorms could return, coming up, back to you. >> we will see you then. a philadelphia fire fighter is out of the hospital this afternoon after being treated for injuries he

received in at row home fire in overbrook. that fire broke out in a two story row house in the 5300 block of west berk street just after 1:00 this morning there was heavy smoke on the first and second floors, but fire fighters have that fire under control in less than a half an hour. the cause of the fire remains under investigation. police need public's help tracking down a thief stealing packages from homes in the society hill area this surveillance video shows suspect approaching residents in the 600 block of addison street. the suspect removes a package from the front steps, and then takes off on a blue ain't white bike. this is second theft involving the suspect who struck on south 26th street, both incident happened on june 30th. philadelphia police released this surveillance video of the male caught stealing a cell phone. it happened at 7-eleven last month. suspect enters on delaware avenue. male is scenery moving a store employee's cell phone as employee behind the counter walked away. suspect left in a white nissan

agreements on higher education, health care and $15 an hour federal minimum wage. some of those policies are in a draft of the democratic party's platform. we are just one week away from the republican national convention, in cleveland and several committees will spend this week working to finalize the parties platform and convention rules. the chairs for rnc platform committee are expected to hold a news briefing on today's meeting at 7:00 o'clock tonight. meanwhile donald trump made his first campaign appearance since canceling an event friday in the wake of the dallas police killings. presumptive republican nominee took to the stage, to discuss veterans affairs issues, but most called for an event for violence begins our nation's police officers. in a ten-point plan to serve veterans trump vowed to implement a hot line for veterans complaints that will go straight to the white house. >> that will take place, 24 hours a day, to ensure that no valid complaint about the va and its wrongdoing falls
