philadelphia all just came from a basketball game. >> a solid neighborhood with good basketball program with a lot of people involved. >> detective are hoping those possible witness cans help track down the shooter. police say of the basketball games ended around 10:00, the teenagers 14, 15, and 16, walked eason baltimore, when they encountered group of males at edgewood street. one of those guys, police say, a gun, and for some reason, opened fire on the teen. police believe the boys were targeted, but don't yet know why. >> this just looks like kids, caring something from a neighborhood here, just had an opportunity to go after these young men leaving the court, and took an opportunity to shoot them, which is unacceptable. >> the 14 year old was hit in the arm, the 16 year old hit in the ankle 15 year old was shot in the face. the 15 year old eventually pronounced dead. tuesday morning they searchedment shooting scene for clues, scene not even

block away from where teenagers at one point were having a good time playing basketball. positive program that works well in the community. call for tips to get the individual off the street. >> the two other teens shot and injured are currently in stable condition, this morning, and meanwhile this investigation continues, unfortunately, detective don't have a good description of the suspect, only to say, one is a man, possibly, five-nine, wearing white t-shirt, black shorts, the other is a male with a red t-shirt and wearing a bandana, anyone with information is asked to call police. we are reporting live outside southwest detective, this morning, jan carabeo, cbs-3, "eyewitness news", jim, brooke, back into you. >> thanks a lot, jan. >> in other news, philadelphia police say threats have been made against several district, that investigators say the threats are not credible or realistic. at least right now. authorities released a statement reading in part: obviously, we're taking this seriously, and it will be thoroughly investigated, in

order to ensure the safety of not only our employees but the residents who live in the aforementioned districts. the police investigation is snot over. we'll bring you updates when any new information comes into our news room. and, this morning, homeland security investigation is underway, that is after two people were found on the roof of the hyatt at the bellevue in center city last night, around 7:30, in the evening, that's in the 200 block of south broad street, police say the two had smoke bombs, and camera equipment. no word on the charges they're facing. >> later today, barring last minute appeal, new details may become public in the case against former penn state assistant coach, jerry sandusky. judge gary glazer is expected to unseal documents, from an insurance lawsuit that could contain allegations that a could, that in 1976 san did you kiss molested details about claims penn state assistant coach south inapropriate contact, sexual contact between sandusky and a child, in 1987, and 1988.

hey, we could always use the rain, right? had couple of dry days inbetween, spells every wet weather. now, as early as tomorrow, notice, the time stamp 10:00 a.m., most of us, at least through new jersey and delaware, for the most part, in full sunshine. cloud deck starts to nudge in here with the approach in advance of the warmfront. tan does look to me as though i say the western third, that sliver of the delaware valley, could see shower or thunderstorm, through the p.m. hours of tomorrow. and then by thursday, start to see more widespread, more numerous chance for granted scattered showers and thunder storms, but they will affect anyone at that point. starting to run short on time so i jump you ahead to the seven day, give you sense what lies ahead, generally speaking, it is just going to get hot, steamy, un settle. looking ahead to the next couple every days, some disparity on the computer model as to when things will shake out, still just a chance for showers saturday, even friday, looks like just chance, thursday, looks like it is the best shot, though, across the region.

you take this all the way up to the airport, that's what you are looking at, gorgeous shot. fifty-nine south at cottman, starting to heat up, come around the s curve moving into center city, so might want to give yourself couple of extra minutes in around this area, accident in conshohocken, overturned, conshohocken road closed near old elm street. you will have to use a local detour, jim, over to you. >> thanks so much, meisha a this morning, investigators say an inmate who fatally shot two bailiffs at michigan courthouse briefly took hostages before he was killed. it happened at the city every st. joes ever, about hour west of kalamazoo. authority say the prisoner was being moved from the jail cell for a court appearance, when the inmate grabbed a gun from an officer. police say he killed the two bailiffs, and wounded a sheriff's deputy, and civilian, before two other bailiffs shot and killed that prisoner. >> well, president obama, vice president joe biden, and former president jw bush will speak in dallas today, remembering the police officers killed last week in the ambush. last night, in dallas, more

than a thousand people lit candles in memory of the five officers killed in the ambush. each officer was remembered with speeches and prayers, from the chief of the dallas police department. three of those officers will be laid to rest this week, meanwhile, police continue to investigate the background of shooter micah johnson. >> today bernie sanders set to appear with hillary clinton in new hampshire. he reportedly plans to endorse, aligning himself with some of the sanders positions, in recent days, she is announced new policies on higher education and healthcare. party platform also shows sanders' influence with a commitment to a 15-dollar an hour minimum wage. and tougher language on the climate change. >> meanwhile, donald trump is set to have fundraiser in chicago today. that is a day after he said he is the law and order candidate during stop in virginia beach. he said the crowd there hostility against police must end now. he says i'll support police while fighting crime in the nation's inter cities.

up tick in humidity, you know what, it is july, it is what you would expect and franklin pretty much going to be very typical sunny summer day. so, let's take a look what's happening on storm scan, as you might imagine, not a heck of a lot. we have the satelite composite over top of us, featuring nothing more than few clouds, thin vale over us. here at the cbs-3 headquarters nothing more than the ever so finest little vale of cloud cover overhead, it is real a nice start to the day here. as we move things forward, it is a clicker cooperate, temperatures country reading low mid 60s, cooler by comparison mount pocono as is typical, up and down the shore point, you have anywhere from mid 60s to the 70s, so bit of variety pack there, more of on shore wind flow, as well, so that see breeze will make it feel little cooler, as the day progresses, and that said, around the region, talking sunshine across the board here, low 80s at the shore, more like upper 70s in the mountains, but here in philadelphia, certainly warm up most readily talking about 87 for daytime high in the

sunshine, and it really does look like noise day. enjoy it. now, the problem is, we eventually need to see change in the pattern, that is going to start to come in the form of up tick in humidity as well as an up tick on the thermometer in the days ahead, of course with the next system on the move, also, the return of some stormy weather, in our forecast. so i'll tell you coming up a bit later until the broadcast when to expect any hint every wet weather. sounds good, katie, thank you for. that will good morning, everyone, looking outside, actually looking pretty good. i will say we are starting to heat up in most areas, near jersey, one of those, 42 knee way northbound creek road, what you are looking at behind me, see this is certainly starting to heat up in this area. has been over the past 15, 20 minutes. but, it is kind of holding steady here, so actually looking okay, just make note, you will have to give yourself couple of extra minutes in most areas right now, the schuylkill, headlights moving, in the eastbound direction, at the boulevard. you can see, slowly starting to slow down here, as well,

eastbound actually looking okay, when you look over to the westbound side, you can see how slow moving that is already starting to get. make note of that, for those every in you and around that area, downed tree branch on the ramp from 340 to 3040 -- 340 westbound, have to swerve around it, see this vehicle just did, that you can also see those markers out there letting you know that it is still out there. accident overturned truck here in conshohocken. conshohocken road closed, near old elm street. make note of that for those of in you and around the area. overnight construction, want to pull your attention to 422 between trooper and first avenue eastbound between seven p.m. and 5:00 a.m. westbound side, nine p.m. to 6:00 a.m. one lane open, both directions, and this is going to be lingering out there until thursday. brooke, over to you. >> thanks, meisha. investigators are on the scene of two early morning fires in our area. the first broke out in a home on lewis avenue east lansdowne, delaware county, started around 2:00 this morning, and firefighters controlled the fire in about a half hour. there are no reports of injuries, and investigators are searching for the cause. this fire, at the short

hills restaurant and deli on east evesham road, cherry hill, broke out around 2:45, under control in little more than a half hour. firefighters say the flames started outside the deli, and spread inside. cherry hill fire and ems tweeted pictures as they battle the fire again, here, there are no reports of injuries, and investigators are also searching for the cause. >> meanwhile, an investigation is underway this morning, after a volunteer firefighter is killed during a delaware air rescue team training exercise. the accident happened at delaware coastal airport in georgetown, when volunteer firefighter fell from a helicopter. the 46 year old victim was pronounced dead at the hospital. the man's name is not being released. >> philadelphia's homeland security unit wants to know why two people were on the roof by the center city hotel last night. >> they are concerned because of what those suspect had up on that roof with them. talking about camera equipment, as well as smoke bombs. now, all appears back to normal here at the hyatt at the bellevue hotel, though it remains part of the focus of homeland security, philadelphia police here, no word yet on charges for those two people who were found on this roof, with those suspicious items last night. chopper three, with a birds eye view of those two individuals being placed into waiting cruisers, philadelphia police telling "eyewitness news" they got the call about 7:30 last night. arriving to this block to find two unidentified people, atop the hyatt, at the bellevue roof. and, finding them with smoke bombs, and camera equipment, not much more known at this time. again, looking live at the hotel, return to routine this morning, though at last check those two individuals do remain in police custody. again, no word yet on any charges, and the police also taking this investigation quite seriously. live here in center city, justin finch, cbs-3, "eyewitness news", jim,
