relatively quiet. we have wet weather which we will show you here on a second here. we will start off with a pretty picture outside we will go to the live neighborhood network and kutztown area middle school, on a nice clear day this is one of my most favorite cameras but even that the sunnies up we are not seeing it because we will have more cloud cover healing it. 71 degrees, currently notice win direction it may not be a noticeable breeze out of the south/southwest and we will start to bring in more moisture and warmth and that turns its pattern on a more unsettled note here. storm scan had at least in the last hour or two been showing scattered showers over new castle count and most notable across salem and cumberland county and this is a picture of what you'll see rest of the day. scattered variety of the shower or thunderstorm and we hoped it might not reach shore but anyone is fair game for shower or storm. if you have outdoor plans i'd keep them. just be on the look out for

the schuylkill westbound at city avenue. certainly a lot of vehicles getting out there and starting to slow down a bit. forty-two freeway north bound at creek road, i would say this is, pretty much holding steady and looking just like this all morning long. overall in new jersey 42 freeway we are looking good. calling your attention to this accident here boulevard northbound involving a down pole and injury at horning road past woodhaven road that out are drive is closed. clearly take inner drive. just take note that is out there on septa, new interim schedules are in effect, cynwyd line is busing and still expect overcrowding, over to you. as community mourns a teenager killed after a basketball game in southwest philadelphia, police continue to look for his killer. >> "eyewitness news" reporter justin finch is live with the latest on the investigation, justin. >> reporter: brooke and jim, good morning. police believe trigger man, is not only a teenager himself angry about a basketball game when he gun down tyhir barnes

and his friend monday night at 60th and baltimore avenue. vigil tuesday, calls for a killer to come forward. >> you took a life. you were man enough to take a life. why don't you be man enough to turn yourself in. >> reporter: grief washing over this crowd of family trend and others mourning death of the 15 year-old tyhir barnes one of the three teens shot just before ten monday night in what detectives call an ambush style attack. >> he fired ten times from the semiautomatic weapon. >> reporter: earl any their probe decks say the gun man is also likely a teenager, spurned over a basketball game loss last week. barnes team recently had a buzzer beater win over a rival team. that resulted in a fist fight and then monday a tragic turn. barnes and his friend were shot and rushed to penn presbyterian where he died. >> we know you you are and we will find you and justice will be served.

board blames theobald for a 22 million-dollar short fall in the financial aid budget and for removal of a top school official. now the board will vote on whether to fire theobald next thursday. there is a hearing for three people accused in the murder of the philadelphia woman allegedly over an unpaid debt. body of 26 year-old toy bryant was discovered last month in fairmount park. she was handcuffed, stabbed, and then shot to death. police say bryant owed 39 suspects with $800. paula cues an also has a hearing today, 409 year-old cuss an shot his wife, pamela with a cross bow inside their home on willits road in the northeast last month. the couple was married just nine days before. a group that calls themselves back to blue plans a pro police rally with think evening. they plan to meet at 6:30 at frankford and cottman. they invite people to bring flags and signs and to wear blue. they say on their facebook page they want to show police that they care. looking for work, and have

of four tornadoes touched down, across the area, the national weather service, fortunately, no reports of any injuries. also this morning we are getting a look at what nasa's juin spacecraft is seeing. you will recall it made to it jupiter. check it out it sent its first pictures yesterday and showed planet surrounded by three of the four largest moons. juno was 3 million miles away when it snapped these photos. >> wow. >> that is incredible for being that far away. >> amazing stuff. >> well, you just talk about that severe weather out across minnesota and that very same frontal boundary starting to move in the great lakes. we are going to end up with wet weather, at home but i don't think we have to worry about any kind of severe weather threats, thankfully but there are a a few things, starting to go uphill, temperature, humidity levels, that is also potential for showers and storms. we are back into what is very

typical for july. last few days when we had low humidity and full sunshine, that was what we would typically fine. they are used to the humidity and these speckles of showers and storms firing up on storm scan, right? that is what we're getting back to here. excuse me. while we come back here, and, salem county, we have been dealing with showers for last half an hour, those will continue to pop up anywhere, through the rest of the day here because we are having instability to work with but through p.m. hours, for most of you as we tart to heat up. here's dew point stand, upper 60's down i-95. in the 70's this dover. very muggy, by comparison and we will continue to see those values go up. outside we will dough to beach patrol in margate, it is all calm, quite to it kick start the day. there is 1lone person down the beach, such a good beach day, watch for a stray sure tomorrow also a spotty shower or then are storm.

more. ninety-five south at cottman around that s curve and i would say it is looking, fairly typical. would i almost say that this looks like it is lighter then what we see monday through wednesday especially on i-95 at this exact same point but overall holding steady here. it is heating up, here, and recommend giving you couple extra minutes on i-95. i-95 north at 452 this gorgeous shot, looking good, everyone traveling at posted speeds, at 55 miles an hour, just as we want inch. 422 ease wound, this is what we are looking at 422 right now looking nice around oaks and schuylkill territory in the eastbound direction approaching the conshohocken curve. in franconia another accident at creamery road we will have more on that boulevard accident coming up in a little bit, back to you. well, new you this morning police say a suspect believed to be involved in a plot to kill baton rouge officers may still be on the loose. investigators say they have arrested three people including a 13, 17, and 20 years old. they are accused of planning

to kill police officers using guns stolen from a pawn shop. so far six of the stolen guns have been recovered and have not yet identified that fourth suspect. meanwhile funerals for three officers killed in the dallas snipper attack will be held today. yesterday president obama, and george w. bush spoke at a memorial service in dallas. five american flags sat in empty chairs to symbolize five officers kill. they have been working in a protest rally thursday when they were shot and kill. president george w. bush told the crowd that americans should remember they shared commitment for common ideals. president obama praised officers around the country saying they had help keep us safe. he urged americans to help work end racial tension but police and community that they serve. >> my faith tells me they did not die in vein. i believe our sorrow can make us a better country. i believe our righteous anger can be transformed into more

justice and more peace. >> house speaker paul ryan says bipartisan group in the house will examine america's policing issues. he intend to release more information later today. sources say presumptive republican presidential nominee donald trump will name his running mate this friday. indiana governor mike pen ce is latest republican to make the cut. new jersey governor chris christie and former house speaker newt gingrich is also in the running. on the demies side, hillary clinton is considering retired admiral james, senator elizabeth warren is another possibility. warren addressed the philadelphia democratic national convention, on the first night. this morning the clinton campaign is planning an event on the independent mall. her campaign obtained a permit from the national park service for a public assembly on july 29th. that is the day after after the democratic national convention wraps up at the wells fargo where she's expect to get the official nomination from her party. speaking of the dnc everyone was treated to a preview is

are talking about what some police officers did in the boro of homestead. >> it started in a restaurant. "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabao joins us to explain, what happened. >> reporter: this is a positive story, you guys, getting a a lot of attention on social media. we know tension between police officers and many communities across the country have been high in the wake of the last weeks violence but this group of officers just outside of pittsburgh was able to turnaround an uncomfortable, awkward situation and they did it the through a simple act of the kindness. it was a typical friday night here at eat on park and homestead allegheny county, or, so these four officers thought. >> we were sitting down waiting on our food. i heard talk. glanced over. there was a couple coming in the restaurant. >> reporter: officers are regular is here, usually greeted with handshakes and gratitude, this night was different. >> this guy was like no, i don't want to sit here. >> i said, it is okay, sir, you don't have to worry about it, we won't hurt you.

cool our weather is not necessarily that way. we will heat up here in the next couple of days, that is where we will turn our focus, not for today but rather thomas we go to the graphic, excessive heat watch is in effect at high noon from basically new castle county by i-95 toward mercer. all of the counties included in the last, excessive heat warning, and right now it is just a watch but we will be shocked to see that get upgraded toia warning as we get ever closer. but regardless the heat is on the way. now, you can see even in the last hour or two, a little speckles of green in kent county and salem, cumberland counties there just a few showers, this is what the radar will look like, very the scattered showers, and thunderstorm. everyone is basically, fair game to see shower or thunderstorm as we row gress through mid afternoon. seventy-two currently at the airport. very modest breeze but basically right out of the south. it will help shelf that warmth and humidity that way. it is steam toy daze and also

starting to slow down ever so slightly now but overall still looking good there as well, and the boulevard, dealing with that gorgeous sunshine headlights in the southbound direction the at wissohickon avenue. great news on the boulevard along this area where we did have this accident, all clear. jim, over to you. a man is in the hospital after being shot four times twice in each leg. police say it happened around 3:00 this morning on the 2400 block of bouveer street in north philadelphia investigators collected six spent shell casings from the the street but they say the 25 year-old victim is not cooperating in the investigation. possible eyewitnesses are not providing much information as well. the gun man got away. it has been a month since the orlando nightclub shooting and philadelphia's lb gt community is paying tribute. dozens of performers performed for eye candy nightclub in center city last night. organizers say tragedy brought community together and closer then they have ever been before. donations, and tips from the event are going to the families of the people killed

and hurt in the shooting. a 28 year-old man from new jersey is now charged with trespassing, after he and another person were found on the roof of the hyatt at the bellevue in center city. ivan wong the had smoke bombs and a camera. they say the incident does not appear to be connect to terrorism and may have been an attempt to stage a photo shoot. a second person has in the been charged. count down is on, we're just two days from the opening gavel of the democratic national convention at the wells fargo center. philadelphia's mayor jim kenney says law enforcement will work to protect first amendment rights of the protesters at dnc. both in philadelphia and nationwide are not changing how they will handle security at the dnc. also this morning, the faa says it is imposing a in fly zone here in philadelphia as well as cleveland, for the republican and democratic national convention. that no fly zone will span 34 miles over each event, secret service director guess

philadelphia's museum of the american revolution opens up next spring but the artifacts will be moving in just a couple months. >> jan carabao joins us for a sneak peak of the secret location where artifacts are spending the summer.

>> thinks a very rare look at a collection of artifacts that some say has been in the works for more than two centuries. the museum of the american revolution takes you on a journey from the end of the french indian war to the days of the constitution and early republic, for a look, we will take to you a not so average storage facility, somewhere in the delaware valley. talked away scott stevenson and the team are hard at work. they are looking for the new museum of the american revolution. >> this is a fortress of solitude. >> reporter: in a rare look behind the scenes, stevenson walks us through many rows, collection includes 3,000 piecees from excavated artifacts and weaponry to find art and some of the most important documents in our nation's history. >> that is the announcement of the birth of the united states. >> reporter: the short article is found inside a bound addition of the pennsylvania evening post, a paper printed in olde city, philadelphia, four days later the paper would be the first to print the declaration of

independent. another philadelphia connection, these george washington camp cuffs made by a silver smith. >> they worked at second and market street by, christ church and they were made for general washington in august of 1777. we had a radio to list hen in on the conversation with those cups, it would be absolutely fascinating. >> reporter: museum will showcase not just well known, but take the-of samuel dudley an average solder. >> war often leads to people doing things like getting tattoos or engraving the horn, and they will have whimsical little foulke art, engravings on them, it has a moose and calf which are kind of charming. wonderful little doodle. >> reporter: in september it will move to third abe chestnut street. during the museum's excavation they found a ship's bowl. soon it will be home to the 118,000 square foot facility and it is a place in america's most historic square mile.
