importantly the heat, it is big issue, that is big weather headlines. we will start off here, excessive heat warning in effect as well as heat advisory at noon time today. worst of that heat, core of the heat happening across the i-95 corridor through urban areas. but go in the more outlining counties and heat advisory will take effect. core of the heat we will have values soaring to 100 or above at the height of the day, very, very toasty stuff. here's a look at that deceptive radar. we have had some showers and then are storms that has since fizzled away but we will check with our eyewitness weather watchers they are still report something mist and some fog out there. there is a lot of moisture to work with in the atmosphere and you have to flip the wipers once or twice. that said current temperature readings are definitely not terrible f we had cry air in place this would feel comfortable but we are off to a warm start and with the humidity in place it is only going to get more steamy from

neighborhood. we start to talk about other programs that we can produce out of this recreational sent that are can impact whole community and other folks learn the values of it. >> state representative thomas says there have been 135 homicides in the city of philadelphia a and that is a 4 t year. horsham township is getting a ten million-dollar grant to help clean up its contaminated water. public water systems in horsham have been contaminated by chemicals. they came from fire fighting foam used in the old naval base. the it comes from the pennsylvania infrastructure authority. montgomery representative todd stevens will announce more details later this morning. count down continues. we are just 11 days from the democratic national convention right here in philadelphia. and the last call for alcohol may be later then 2:00 a.m. while that convention is here. during the convention some philadelphia bars will be allowed to stay opened until 4:00 a.m. bars will to have apply for a permit and show they are related to the convention.

especially over riverbeds and valley region. if you are traveling in these spots keep in mind you might run into poor visibility locally. but again, in the less. over last couple of hours we have had a heavy thunderstorm. this totally fizzled away. because it is a soupy air mass you may find some, missing because there is so much moisture to work w now that the sunnies up it will scour out that low lying cloud cover and we will be to suck in the sunshine for the bet are part of the day helping to heat things up. so very common sense ways to take care of yourself. lots of fluid, water is preferable. avoid strenuous activity. stay out of the sunlight. 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. wear light colored and loose fitting clothing and take care of each other, kid, pets, everyone needs to stay safe. the way you do that is to stay cool. ninety-four for today. heat advisory. oppressive heat warning. tomorrow not as bad, it will be as hot on the thermometer but humidity starts to ease up, weekend, still hot but it

is summer. it is a bit more typical. >> yes. >> very, very warm. okay. all right, katie, thank you so much. looking outside on the roadways this morning, you guys, it started off nice i will say. but then we have construction and just a string of accidents. we are seeing what happened when fog came in so the roadways were getting wet and it spiraled from there. right now we have four accident outside. let me show you first schuylkill westbound at city avenue. that fog is lifting a little bit. visibility is getting better but take a look at how busy, it is on the schuylkill westbound at city avenue as we jump off the boulevard. this is, we're only a quarter past six right now so it will only heat up. we know pushing toward 7:00 o'clock hour our main hour of the rush hour we know how busy, it will get w that being said give yourself some extra time this morning. speaking of the boulevard take a look at this fog as you push toward what you were just looking at on the schuylkill. again give yourself extra time, you will need tonight valley forge, blue loose, moving in the eastbound

my staff call them a much say don't come in today because it is so hot right now. >> that is right. >> some things we were talking about. >> if you were out there in the hot weather what are signs you might be experiencing a heat related illness and if you are what should you to right away. >> lets go to heat stroke. >> we have different types. heat cramps, heat exhaustion and heat stroke that is most dangerous. that is a medical emergency you have to call 911 for. symptoms are, a really hot and high body temperature. body temperature over 103 degrees, hot red, dry or moist skin. your pulse, wrapped and strong. this is the big thing is the consciousness of the person. they might be dusty or confused. they might seem off or unconscious. any of those signs is a warning to call 911 to get someone out of the heat if you

have to go out when should you go out. >> we say to avoid the hottest time of the day. from 10:00 in the morning until 3:00 in the afternoon. it is steaming. up though i say avoid ten to four, the truth of the matter is during these days it is really hot at 7:00 in the morning and sometimes at 7:00 at night. use your best judgment. stay out of the direct sunlight. wear sun screen. wear a hat these type of days to be mowing your lawn at 2:00 . >> it is important to stay hydrated. how do you know. >> sometimes we don't need to know we're dehydrated. temperatures especially if there is humidity in the air it is difficult to know if you are dehydrated. drink plenty of fluid. if you have heart, lung, kidney problems check with your doctors just to make sure you know how much you can drink. >> okay. doctor general, she says check
