are heading tomorrow and what is in store for upcoming weekend in just a few. >> lauren, thank you. it has been two weeks since septa pulled its entire fleet of the silver liner five cars out of service wreaking havoc on the commute and passengers. today septa officials invited to us see exactly what cause that had problem. "eyewitness news" reporter joe holden is live in west philadelphia at a facility that the cars are being repaired, joe. >> reporter: good afternoon to you. silver liner five is a household name at this point. the bulk of them being addressed here at overbrook maintenance yard here in west philadelphia. we have asked is septa at the very start of this for a tour just to see exactly the problems they are dealing with. well this morning they opened up the doors and showed us exactly how involved addressing the underside of this train really is. >> i'm sorry. >> reporter: getting the right piece under a train, not for those with tight spaces that is jim with septa holding the

flashlight. he is pointing out the notorious crack as long the equalizer beam, of the silver liner five train. >> everybody see the crack? it is pretty hard, isn't it. >> reporter: for the record i could not see it. few could. but earlier this month septa and expect or went digging for answers after a silver liner five was leaning and he found those cracks and asking how hard could it be? >> in that location it is incredibly difficult to see when looking at it about the size of the best card. you are an arms length away looking for a small shiny crack. >> reporter: this was stop one of the tour of the overbrook maintenance facility where the entire silver line's fleet out of service, septa wanted to show us why, on to stop number two. >> look at this huge piece of equipment, there are two on every septa train. lets go deeper and show you exactly where the problems are. it had within a crack in this little area that is very

visible to the high. >> to help us out septa used red dye to brighten the crack. it is still unknown how they saw it. >> if you do not see any lines it will be challenging but we will let everyone get up underneath it is a very dark line right at the weld. >> reporter: there it is, the crack in the worst case scenario could have led to a major accident, a situation that could have been much different if not for that alert inspector. >> there is a a lot of nooks and crannies all around here. >> reporter: now back live, all of the stake holders who have a part on this are at the table continuing to look over how they are going to fix this. there is still no solution, number one and number two the question remains, how did all of this happen. so streamliner five are here and other facilitieses or the streamliner four, the 40 year-old trains that are basely picking up slack in all of this. they are on an accelerated inspection schedule because of

beach, checking in on our live neighborhood network at rehoboth beach, beach packed there, a lot of people in the water, getting a cool off, extreme heat that is persisting down the shore as well as sea breeze has not picked up, so temperatures in the middle 90's the in the city. no 90's along the i-95 corridor. usually the beach and down the shore are cooler, not so today, 95 degrees right now in rehoboth beach. cool spot, 84 degrees in ocean city. 80 degrees in barnegat light house and feels like temperatures are just absolutely crazy. feels like 100 degrees in philadelphia a feeling like 104 in dover. feeling like 101 in wildwood. so aloft people have taken to the ocean today, dew points they tell us about that sticky factor when they are up in the 70's and bordering on 80-degree mark. it is so stifling, and humid, that comfort index we know if you stepped one minute outside, it is insufferable.

the as we head into the night tonight we will keep humidity around and through the day tomorrow as well that excessive heat warning in effect for philadelphia and a surrounding counties with heat index pushing backup into that 100-degree range as we head into tomorrow afternoon. that warning won't expire until 8:00 tomorrow evening. overnight tonight we have a chance of a passing thunderstorm, very isolated in nature, and that ac is running all night long dropping down to 76 degrees and more extreme heat mostly sun which a high of 94 degrees with the humidity to boot. storm scan three showing us a trend earlier, we did have severe storms rolling through northampton county, did damage in some areas bringing down trees and power lines but storms rolling through big apple down along long island and off shore quiet conditions on storm scan three. not even a cloud to see but as we head in the next couple hours we could see a pop up storm but for tomorrow dry conditions and story once again will be heat and

and summer hospital like. we will look at weather temperature 49 degrees in philadelphia. thirty-nine in wilmington. up at 89 degrees, in ac. and one of of the only ones suffering with this heat and humidity cross eastern seaboard, temperatures in the 90's. ninety-five in raleigh-durham and little rock temperatures in the mid 90's as well. dew point tell us about that sticky factor giving a bit of the break in the lehigh valley. dew points in the lower 60's, points south and east forget it, we will deal with the steamy factor that will stay with us through the night tonight. feels like temperature in the 100-degree range in philadelphia, down into wilmington, feeling like 104 right now in dover. because of those numbers we have a heat advisory in effect for entire delaware valley until 8:00 o'clock this evening, excessive heat warning in effect for philadelphia counting and in and around i-95 corridor and this doesn't expire until tomorrow evening the at 8:00 o'clock. we will have to practice this heat safety, both rest of the

evening and then again tomorrow, drink plenty of water, of course, avoid strenuous activity, we need to go for that jog maybe take a break again tomorrow. stay out of direct sunlight, wear light weight wait, light colored clothing and protect your kid. don't for get the pets and pavement. so hot in these temperatures as well. so protect their paws. overnight tonight we can see an evening thunderstorm but that chance is in the evening hours we will go, warm, humid, partly cloud which a a low temperature of 76 degrees. we are backup in the middle 90's mostly sun which that extreme heat. storm scan three, we did have severe storms rolling through did some damage, taking down trees and power lines. that weather storm rolled through big apple, but now, well up wind and in the bothering us and quiet across the delaware valley. looking at future weather we have a stay storm tomorrow afternoon, i think atmosphere will be too stable with the heat. we have a better chance of
