this is cbs-3 eye within news this morning. >> horror again has struck. >> france ravaged by its thirds attacks in two creeks, a truckloaded when guns, grenades, plows through a crowd during a bastille day celebration in the resort city of nice. more than 80 people are dead, this morning, learning more about the horror and about the victims, including two americans, as investigators work to determine who is behind the attack. >> and in the wake of that attack, donald trump announces he's plans for presidential pick. most people think they know who it is. >> looking at another day of excessive heat. little relief on the way. when you can expect it, coming up. >> today is friday, july 15th, good morning, i'm jim donovan.

tina krause has an update. >> forensic teams in nice examine the bullet ridden truck overnight, its driver mode down dozen every people celebrating bass toll day hours before. one eyewitness captured the truck picking up speed as it barrelled down the prom made. mike lives in nice and heard the screams as people ran for cover. >> we looked out our window off our balcony. there were people, you know, streaming down the pedestrian wall, making over the tables of the cafe. >> father and son from texas shot, were among those killed. captured this video as he and others hid in the storage roof of the restaurant. he said the driver opened fire on spectators before police eventually shot him. >> just firecrackers going off or fireworks, but it became clear that there was something more than that.

>> hours after the attack, french president francois alan declared terror had hit the country again. president obama also condemned the attack. french officials are looking into who else may have played a role. so far no group has claimed responsibility. tina krause, cbs news. >> thanks, teen a the tragedy in france wade heavy on the mind of people celebrating brass teal day in philadelphia. french alliance still gathered to mark the holiday. took time to remember those killed. >> you know, this is supposed to be a happy event under the stars, and we did that, but, you know, there was also something in the background, and we had a minute of silence for the people who died today. it was very sad. >> the french alliance has deep ties to philadelphia. it has had a language arts and cultural center here since the early 19 hundreds.

>> today would be a good day to bring out your cbs swim east, jim, i know you have though. into the baby pool, whatever you have to do. finds a way to cool off today. good news about today, i don't think we're talking about any kind of wet weather issues, generally hot, steamy, sunny. so it is a good excuse to cool off by the pool at the beach or whatever you are feeling like. so, today is a good day for t let's go ahead, look at storm scan3, not much to report. but there is still moisture in this atmosphere, very, very palpable humidity once more, so it does actually feel warmer, even with the sun not being up, than the thermometer reads. current temperatures made up of 70s, couple of 80s out there, actually feels about four, 5 degrees warmer than this, now, eventually we will top off again into about 94 degrees here in philadelphia. but generally the low mid 90s in the sunshine, hot, steamy, and we are going to start to thankfully see the worse of that humidity easing up, through the course of the weekend. but, obviously, meisha, a the
