"eyewitness news" in olney right there where a 15 year old boy was shot multiple times last night. it happened, and police say the victim hit in the arm and and, ran to nearby police, delivery driver drove him to einstein hospital. investigators found 21 shell casings, at the scene. >> homeland security and the philadelphia police bomb squad are investigating after a threat was made against the

former ago secretary, tom billsack. we are now just ten days away from the start of the democratic national convention in philadelphia. >> well, several cities in new jersey responded by fast and powerful storms yesterday. they dumped several inches of rain in minutes, flooding roads, winds reached 06 miles per hour bringing down tree limb, power lines, at the peak the area storms were bringing 4 inches of rain per hour. and 300 lightning strikes per hour. >> we've been lucky here. crazy weather around the country. >> so luck. >> i it is true, a lot of times you will see the worse of the severe weather outbreaks, that take place back into the plane states, just geographically speaking that's it. that's where you see some of the best opportunity with the gulf as well as the mountain ranges. just the way it is

geographically set up. still, we obviously have seen some of the fair share of thunderstorms, were severe yesterday, as quickly as they rolled through, retreated. even saw in the video flooding still there, but the sun was back. today at least, no storms. we are expecting nothing but sunshine. it is hot, however, and it will be another very steamy day. i mention the air quality alert earlier in the broadcast, specific to the garden state. so, if you are going down to the shore, or maybe hitting one of the state park, keep in mind, that it is an air quality that's less than healthy for the sensitive groups, if you have any rest tourist problems this isn't the best day for you, because we have so much heat with the sun baking the surface, that it really sort every just bakes together, the pollute and the, that's where you can get the high level every pollution and oh, son. talking water temperature, still going to heat up, starting to get little more comfortable with every passing week here, you're into the upper 70s, in atlantic city, 73 degrees up near the atlantic city area, cape may

more like 77, so the further south you go, usually the better it is, even long branch, 78 degrees. that particular buoy, not bad at all. if you are hitting the shore, generally looks really good the next couple of days, nice little three day weekend, but very likely be spotty shower, thunderstorm to dodge specially sunday, today's going to be a hot one, though, pair of eight's for the daytime high. meanwhile back in the city of philadelphia this is in the highs expecting the next few days here, we are far from cool in the days ahead, but at least we can see the worse of the humidity easing up this weekends, although there will be the scattered pop up variety of showers or thunderstorms pretty much any day, so saturday, sunday, possibility, more than anything, looking at dry weather, but one of those things do you have at least allow for. >> yes, if we're going to get rain, make it sunday, hunker down. >> everyone has to go back to work. >> it used to be school. >> parent so mad. summer. only few weeks away.

"eyewitness news" was at the busy camden county communication center in lindenwald. in march, 911 dispatchers there unveiled the new technology. they used gps to pinpoint the location of the text message. >> we received a 911 text that ended up being domestic violence incident in one of our towns, we were able to dispatch the police department and the matter handled appropriately. >> dispatchers say call 91 is if you can, but if you can't speak text your emergency, now available throughout new jersey 21 counties.

>> news crew in california stumble on quite a story, a deer on the loose, in busy streets sacramento, started following it and filming. deer eventually ran into construction site, not what those workers were expecting. the deer then took off and disappeared. the news crew contacted fish and wildlife, in hopes they could take the deer to a safer neighborhood. ya, good idea. >> oh, and so frightened. >> obviously. >> it would get to me, too. >> yes, glad they were trying to get it. >> oh, poor thing. >> get him back where he belongs. >> back to the inned owes, yes, and actually one of those days where finding a wooded area wouldn't be the worse idea, find the shade, stay little cooler, some of the more remote parts of the

delaware valley, great idea, start it off with a look at the eyewitness weather watchers, finally generally speaking mid 70s, and even upper 70s across the map, little just concentration of 77 degrees, as we head into the northern region here. we are going to zoom around, take a look at some of these. seventy-three in from dolores, full sunshine start things move newark, and really feeling quite steamy already. and just careful in the heat. absolutely smart, right? you know, we zoom it in to the cherry hill area, we have actually two observations, but we'll take a look at jenny's here, full sunshine, out again in cherry hill at 74 degrees, dew point is 70, and we're already at 74, when it comes to the heat index, so very, very sticky start to the day there. let's go one more, if we can, we will go a little further off to the north. take it back over into pa, jeff is reporting a little mixture of some sun, couple of clouds, higher humidity however, and he is reporting from hatfield. meanwhile, let's take a look at what the heat is really going to mean for us out there.
