conditions, currently 77 degrees in philadelphia, that will be our morning low, knew that the sun is up, temperatures will rise and feels a couple degrees warmer then that thanks to the humidity in the atmosphere wind are north at 7 miles an hour. weather headlines, heat wave number three we will kick that into gear today with the third day in the 90's but some relief is in sight. we have a chance for spotty storms in the forecast the whole time and we will time them out in our main weather hit the but first we will take a look at temperatures around the region, and some spots are comfortable this morning. allentown at 67. lancaster at 68. we are seeing those numbers start to rise, now that the sunnies up and dew points are in the 60's, it is a steam bat h outside this morning if you are getting your morning jog in, that is a good idea but expect to be sweating out there today. you're witness weather day planner 58 at 9:00 a.m. ninety at noon. ninety-three will be our high today but a few pop up thunderstorms moving in this afternoon, coming up, as time roams out with future weather and when that relief makes it

back in the forecast. for now, back over to you. we will check back with you in a moment. new this morning an attempted robbery in philadelphia's oxford circle neighborhood end in gunfire. police say a man was entering his home on the 5900 block of loretta avenue when someone tried to rob him but shot him three times. victim is in stable condition, and police are new looking for the gunman. a triple shooting in north philadelphia has left one man dead and wounded two women, this morning police continue to look for the gun man and try to find out what the motive was. "eyewitness news" reporter anita oh is live at police headquarters, a neat, what can you tell us. >> we know that victim is a 64 year-old man, two women were taken to temple university hospital, police say this all happened last night around 8:35 near ninth and somerset streets in north philadelphia, they say that at least 11 shots were fired from two semiautomatic weapons, a 48 year-old woman was shot in the chest in critical condition at temple university hospital, and a 15 year-old girl was

shot in the lower back and that teen remains in stable condition. and because of the very age range of the victims it is in the clear who the intended target was and police say it is possible that in of them was the target, investigators also believed that the suspected shooter has had two guns, one of the victims may have tried to fire back and we know at least within of the guns used was large and of high caliber and investigators say there is something else that may help them piece this all together. >> based on ballistics evidence we know 11 shots were fired from two separate caliber weapons. we found 11 spent shell casings on the highway. >> reporter: right now though going through security footage that they may have found at one of the shops on ninth and somerset streets. witnesses described the shooter as a male wearing dark clothing and timber land boots and he actually pulled that gun from his shoes and then ran away from the scene of the shooting. so at this time no arrests have been made. live from police headquarters, anita oh for cbs-3 "eyewitness

nice, france. short time later, isis claimed responsibility. investigators say the attacker was a terrorist linked to radical islam. he haded a record that included road rage but nothing that would have suggested anything as serious as this attack. president obama offered his column dance answer and says france is one of the united states strongest allies. >> we need to stand with our french friend as we defend our nation as begins this scourge of terrorism and violence. >> at least two americans a father and a son from texas are among 84 people killed by the attacker who drove a truck through crowd celebrating bastille day in nice. more than 200 people were hurt. and office of the french consul here in philadelphia is planning a vigil to day for victims of the bastille day attack. many in our area have family and friend from the terror zone and at least one eyewitness has local ties. we spoke to her about the chaos. report so many in the southern french time of nice it was

supposed to be a night of friend, family and fire works. >> we have summertime all year long. we just could not expect it to happen here. >> reporter: bastille day celebrations ended with dozens dead, video shows as the crowd along busy prom men nate ran for their lives. this woman lives in nice but spent six months in conshohocken in 2009 for an internship was among the terrified. >> we just knew we had to find shelter. >> reporter: she and many others hid in restaurants when given all clear by police a scene all too familiar she says. >> scary thing i would say, it was very scary, is that we were, we actually, we were running in the par ace tax. >> reporter: michael skullon had been speaking to those in our region and tells "eyewitness news" that the philadelphia area has a sizable french population. >> we have about 5,000 french people living in the region. we have about 65,000 visitors

per year. so, at anytime, a portion will be here. >> reporter: crowds thursday night were turned away from the promenade after the attack, she didn't realize until she got home and turn on the tv just how deadly the night became. a night started in celebration, but ending, in tragedy. we are also hearing from a french teacher, with local ties who is an eyewitness to the terror. the former chester academy school teach's laura neagle was blocks away having dinner. naig he'll tending a summer language seminar said crowd started to pour in the square she was in and said many people tried to shield their children. >> pushing children behind pillars to shield their children. they didn't know for what but they were rushing to get the strollers behind the pillars. >> neagle said she didn't realize the extent of attack until she returned to her hotel. there is much more to come on "eyewitness news" including

cps3 "eyewitness news". philadelphia police are looking for clues, that would lead them to the gun man who killed a man and wounded two women. "eyewitness news" reporter anita oh is live with the latest on the investigation, hi there, anita. >> rahel police say what is surprising about this case is victim was a 64 year-old man, two other women, only 15 years old, was taken with injuries to temple university hospital. police say the triple shooting happened around 8:35 last night, and ninth and somerset streets the in north philadelphia. the police say a 38 year-old woman was shot in the chest and is in critical condition while that teenage girl was shot in the lower back and is in stable condition. that because of the various age range of the victims it is not clear who the intended target was and police say it is possible that in of them was the charges. investigators believe 11 shots were fired from two different semiautomatic weapons and police are investigating whether the suspect shooter had two guns or whether one of

killed by police, including alton sterling and philando castille. sterling was killed in louisiana. castille was shot during a traffic stop in minnesota. both men, sparked this nationwide. they say they organized the event as a call to action to end racism, discrimination and police brutality. well, a simple encounter with the police officer at a local convenient store inspires two little girls to do something sweet for men and with men in blue. "eyewitness news" natasha brown shows how their super act of kindness won the hearts of the entire police department. >> it first started at 7-eleven getting slurpes and we saw police officers and we started to hug them. >> reporter: it began with the hug from the cherry hill police officer, ten year-old gina howell and her seven year-old sister kane a new they wanted to do something special for the police department. >> we got this idea of for a thank you note for their

service, and everything they have done for us and we decided to give them a cake. >> reporter: they pick out this cake posted on the cherry hill police department's facebook page with a simple message. >> it says thank you for your service. >> reporter: girls with the help of their grandmother delivered the cake this week, bringing the smile to the faces of officers. still reeling from the loss of five of their brothers in blue killed in an ambush attack in dallas. >> it makes you feel good, and proud. >> reporter: officer renee houl hand found out who they were and surprised them at their home, bearing police novelty gifts and gift card for that are favorite drink, slurpes, are. >> as a veteran community affairs officers she knows all too well the importance of establishing bonds with the community. >> it is important to try to give back especially after the tragedy that happened in dallas. we can't to keep positive reenforcement with the police and community. >> i want them to grow up and respect and realize what they do for our community.
