tell us about the farm? >> mom and dad bought the farm here in 1953, dad got out of the service and started in the sweet corn business, then early 60s when mom pulled the first retail wagon out of the corner of church and hartford road. the rest is history. >> been here quite a while, many, many years, you serve the community not only here in medford, but delaware valley and even further? >> yes, actually, second farm out in jones ton jones ton, one on the way to great adventure. >> were you telling me i had asked how far you had gone, how far you had sent this corn before. i mean, were you going nationwide at one point; that's correct? >> yes, now can ship their own, but we ship to every state in the continental usa. a lot of folks retire and head that way south, and mom calls and gets son or daughter to ship the corn down to them. >> not bad. >> so tell us little secret we need to know about sweat corn.

i heard, i don't know if this cents a rumor, but keeping it on ice works best? >> known for. that will we call it johnson's ice corn. and, again, mom and dad start that when they first got in the retail business. what happens is the corn, sugar of the corn naturally turns to starch so to slow that process down, it get to the cooler right away. if we have it on display we have little ice on the display, even offered for the bag for the trip home to keep the sugar from turning to starch. >> as we walk down i'll pick some corn, but i ask you, eric, we all love good corn in the summer. what's the best way to cook the corn? >> we recommend just take your pot, put an inch or two in the bottom. get the water going. throw the corn in, let it steam. and my wife likes to say when you can smell the corn it is done. typically that's about three, four minutes. >> there there it is, perfect. how do we pick these things? >> we like to say twist and
