radio and 1210 wpht, on line with cbs philly.com and on cbs news and you're witness news team right here on cbs-3. new this morning a man is dead after being chased down and shot, just steps from a west philadelphia a firehouse. >> "eyewitness news" reporter justin finch is live at the scene where an investigation is underway, good morning, justin what can you tell us. >> reporter: good morning, brooke and jim. we have been moved back further from the crime scene here. this morning as that family grieves the lost of their loved one police are looking for the people who shot this man down in cold blood earlier this morning. the lets take you now to video from overnight just before 2:00 o'clock this morning, gunfire rang out on the 4200 block of vei yoel street. those shots officials say were aimed at a 22-year old man patrolling 16th district officers heard those shots and arrived to viola street and found that victim. he was pronounced dead on the scene here minutes later. a woman friend now a witness told investigators that the

victim park his black car on the sidewalk and went inside his home for a few minutes. whether he they came back out she was standing outside and watching in panic as he was chased by two armed men wearing ski masks, and white t-shirts who ran towards him, from a next door lot. shooting what police believe were likely revolver style firearms based on ballistics evidence. >> between witnesses both had guns, they chased after the victim, and they began firing shots at him, when the victim collapsed in 49200 block of viola, both of the shooters stood over the victim and continued to stand over his body, and fire shots from point blank range. >> and as you heard police say a a very deliberate attack here overnight, this morning and search is on for those two suspects, wearing ski masks and white t-shirts, that crime scene around the corner on viola street. loved ones are gathering at

that victim's home and that investigation is underway. witnesses are being taken to homicide detectives for more information. meantime, the medics who arrived to the scene who responded had a very short walk. we are here at belmont and viola at engine 16. they just was not enough to save this victim overnight. live from park side, justin finch for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". back inside to you. more overnight gun violence to tell but now a 20 year-old man was grazed by gunfire in west oak lane. police say man appears to have been a innocent bystander. they say he was hit in the neck and shoulder. investigators say shooting started around 1:00 this morning during an argument between one men near stenton avenue and north wistar street. a shooting in olney leaves a man in life support. we are told it may have stemmed from an argument over women. police tell "eyewitness news" it happened the back deck of the home in the 1500 block of west chew avenue. we're told gunman pointed a semiautomatic weapon through railing and struck the 22-year

old victim in the face. so far, no arrests. new this morning, fire fighters battled a large fire at a mushroom far in chester county. cell phone video shows bails of hey burning at modern mushroom farms in new garden township. fire fighters rush to the scene around 1:30 this morning. they had fire under control in a hour and a half n1 was hurt. the cause of the fire is under investigation. get ready to pay more to drive the pennsylvania turnpike next year. the turnpike commission approved a six digit toll increase for e-z pass and cash users. increase is set to take effect january 8th. they say the toll increase was needed for maintaining and improving the aging turnpike. a meeting will be held for people in montgomery county worried about water contamination a alarming levels of the chemicals have shown up in the water supply in horsham and warminster. they were used in fire fighting foam at formal naval air base. it will include a question/answer session and it takes place at williamson hall

at blair mill road in horsham. public reports say bill cosby is completely blind and confined to his home. new york post page six says that the 79 year-old comedian had suffered from an eye disease for years. a date has in the been set for his trial, on sexual assault charges stemming from 2004 case involving, former temple employee andrea constand. constand was first of more than 50 women who have accused cosby of sexual misconduct. authorities say a freak accident is to blame for death of the corrections officer and a inmate inside luzerne county correctional facility. twenty-five year-old corrections officer christopher move and inmate timothy gilliam got in the scuffle monday night. they smashed through a elevator door and plunge five stories to their deaths. officials say a third officer narrowly avoided falling as well. the accident is under investigation. well, philly rolls out red carpet for premiere screening of the movie equity.
