traffic. >> it will affect the a.m. commuters and p.m. commuters and everyone in between we have check point and closures and different roads all over the place. we'll get to all this all morning long. >> busy. and certainly thankfully the storms are outer out of here. thankfully the humidity is dropping off as well. it will be a hot day. but at least it should not feel as uncomfortable. yesterday was oppressive right. you walked out the door and it was there you go, brook, proverbial pea soup. yesterday it hit 97. that did break the record. we were on point with what we forecasted and sure enough a new number for the record books. now, at this point it's still very muggy outside. now we can see even the clouds and leftover showers starting to retreat off to the south and as a result of that we're clearing out the atmosphere a little here and in wake of a cold front we'll see dew points drop off. so it's still muggy and

in south philly. and officers say it all came to crashing whepd the suspect smashed into several cars 4800 block springfield avenue west philly and it called happened 12:30 this morning. police tell eyewitness news two men on bikes walked up to the victim when she got out of the car, pulled guns and demand keys. they drove off and police quickly spotted them and gave chase. that's when the suspects lost control and hit eight parked cars. they ran off and still have not been caught. >> and check out this kind gesture to thank the philadelphia police department out in the heat during the dnc. >> this shamrock number pens port dropped off cases of bottle water and snacks. the police department said thanks tweeting thirsty, we may never be again. >> this morning there's a recall underway for an item you probably have in your pantry. >> after cdc found ecoli.

tracking retreat of this humidity even within most southern delaware you are tracking thunderstorms and they continue to retreat south as skies continue to clear with time. high pressure is building in place and it will help influence a much -- just not as oppressive kind of outcome here for the rest day. what did i tell you? dew points are pretty high. it's muggy outside to kick start the morning with dewpoint 3 currently in philadelphia. it's awfully close to where actual temperature is air temperature. so that basically means you have a pretty saturated air mass. those levels are dropping over the further south travel. that will be that downward drop that we see take place through the course of the day north to south. while it is not necessarily oppressive or even insufferable today it's going to be somewhat of a steamy day. by comparison to yesterday we'll take this i want to you take care as you head out in this.

oppressiveness that we had to deal with with the high dew points. let's get you out there storm scan nice and quiet and eventhon loop a retreat of showers across portions of sussex county in the last few hours. we had a couple showers to dodge. those are all narrowly retreating and that will be the theme through the day. lots of sunshine expected and yes, it's still hot. you still need to be smart about being out for extended period of time in this and taking frequent breaks and drinking plenty of water and thankfully it's less humid and uv index as you might imagine nice and high. so sun block is highly required here. if are you going to be signature pool side. low 90s continuing tomorrow and thursday and both days feature son and at least potential for showers or thunderstorm and friday lows look numerous and temperatures are finally not in the 90s. and how about that for a change. that will be nice for the first time in i while, meisha, majority of 7 day is not in the 90s. >> i never thought i would say
