day-to-day we're expecting another 90 plus degree day officially expect to go top off at 92 in philadelphia around 3:00 o'clock. it is partly sunny. but as we showed you on the radar south of philadelphia we could still see a shower or thunderstorm at some point to here today, that is the story of the day ahead but 90's are not ending just yet, i'll tell you when heat wave breaks coming up later in the show. >> sound great, thank you very much. look at outside you guys, look at this, this is i-95 south before girard, all of the morning commuters, meisha, save me, save me. i cannot save you guys but what i can tell you is give yourself some extra time you will need it. i-95 south before girard heading up to that checkpoint at 95 at the vine. significant delays here already and we were just seeing that more driving by, flashlights, blocking off that far right lane. they are moving on southbound but make note we have crews out there police checkpoints are in place this morning and it is certainly going to cause you slow downs. speaking have which, brings us

to our next checkpoint i-95 north near platt bridge, take a look, a sea of vehicles near the platt bridge, you will need extra time and by the way if you have a flight today give yourself extra time heading to that airport right around this, this will only get busier. left lanes are closed heading up to those checkpoints. third is eastbound vine at 95 and no vehicles over five tons getting through on these checkpoints, jim and brooke, back over to you. american history is made once again here in philadelphia. >> hillary clinton is now first female nominee of the major political party. lawmakers take that stage, well to day two more political heavyweights will be here first vice-president gentlemen biden and then president barack obama. their turn at the podium comes after former president bill clinton made a case for his wife last night. clinton now find himself in the unique role of both political clout and former command inner chief. his remark reflect. that he traced hillary's 40 year political and personal partnership. hillary clinton was officially nominated as democratic presidential candidate. it was an emotional night for the entire family. hillary clinton is first woman nominate by president for american, and, and her husband says she's more than ready for the job. >> for this time hillary, she's uniquely qualified to take the opportunities and reduce the risk we face, and she is still the best darn change maker i have ever known

tuesday afternoon, the group philly real justice began marching against police brutality in the temple university area and heading south in the early afternoon. at city hall another group protesting police brutality and economic injustice join them. those groups met up with others marching down broad street, that crowd calling for peace. this all happened as hillary clinton officially became party's presidential nominee. outside a anti clinton anti dnc chants as rallies descended outside wells fargo center, many believe that internal dnc bias cost bernie sanders the nomination. outside philadelphia police arrested four people, accused of scaling an eight-foot security fence, protesters, later set fire to flags and leaflets and in crowds of thousands there is was common ground. >> we have a social injustice issue going on, and most people realize. >> i any solidarity, we can win and one of the chants

check of storm scan wider level you can see a little bit of activity, even a thunderstorm there. we may see a shower at anytime south of the city, we are finding that in fact through southwest most new jersey, a look ahead to the eyewitness weather seven day will keep it going for a couple more days here and break worst of it by friday as more showers and thunderstorms start to rumble in, meisha, over to you. >> thanks, so much. looking outside we have been talking about the checkpoints, some closures, also taking a look at your roads but really what i want to call your attention to if you have to go anywhere near these checkpoints we will see penndot whipping these cameras around. ninety-five north, leading up to a checkpoint you can see airport off in the distance. the checkpoint is 95 north near platt bridge. take a look at this you guys because you have lost one left lane obviously. you have lost all of those left lanes leading up to the checkpoints but this is very, very slow moving. we saw this yesterday as well. you will need extra time for

to the vandalism spree. check this out from bustleton where several people had their car windows bashed in, paint dumped on them and tires slashed. now, this happened in the parking lot of an apartment complex at bustleton and haldeman, one of the car owners called our news desk with the tip. >> i'm just really upset to know that this is going on in the community. i did contact the police. they came out, but there wasn't a whole lot that they could do. they stated except for take a report. so i'm really upset right now. i'm just looking for to some justice. >> janet davis husband and son had their cars vandalized. in all we counted eight damaged vehicles. caught on camera a man washing his car at night when two men walk up, pull guns and demand his keys. >> he for the back though with the hose he was holding. take a look, it happened in louisiana. dash cam in his car caught moment he turn high powered

is there so much to talk about from last night though. >> rich from our sister station talk radio 1210 is live from the cbs-3 news center to help us break it down. you were there. let's start with former president bill clinton's speech. he tried to soften his wife's image plus talk about change. what are your take away from this speech. >> it is interesting that we're getting to august and we're still trying to make hillary clinton likable. her unfavorable are so high, about 65 percent. in politics would you say a candidate is toast above 50. saving her is donald trump un favorables are in the high 60's. goal this week toys make him less likable, more hated and to try to make hillary clinton likable. they bring out bill clinton. it was awkward, last night jim , he opens up in saying 1971, i met a girl. sort of punch line here. and then he leaves out a big chunk of time in his presidency called the late 90 's when it might have been a scandal or two.

him elect said they should have done that. no reason to make it one or the other. they made a lot of cops very upset last night. their strategy, brooke to bring police over to the democrats this fall is to bring out this bill, you have heard 9/11 police officers talk about first responders how hillary for the for the money to help first responders that is their strategy to get police vote. hey republicans tried to block this funding after 9/11. we got money for you. forget other stuff, that is all theater, what really counts for them is dollars and cents. that is their strategy we will see if that works. >> outside convention protests ramped up. there were arrests. do you see difference between protests here and those that occurred in cleveland. >> there weren't any in cleveland, jim, here in philadelphia you are seeing this unity on the convention floor although hundreds of bernie delegates staged a walk out last night and absent from the big convention. on the outside they are scaling the fences, and they

i-95 north, extra time, you will need extra time hiding to the airport. this is eastbound vine at 95. no vehicles over five tons. we are used to that information. but give yourself some extra time there. you need an alternate, this will be it. ninety-five, northbound, platt bridge, to 26th street to the schuylkill westbound, to the vine eastbound and then we will reenter i-95. need it from the southbound side you just literally reverse. make note of this alternate, probably one of the best ones you will get. septa, trenton in bound we have an extra train that left at 6:15 and running again tomorrow. septa buses has extra detours, patco speed line extra cars as needed, jim, over to you. we all know we are stuck in the heat wave right now and that is taking toll on first responders, working to secure the dnc. >> in this weeks addition of brotherly love a local organization is making sure that our police and fire fighters are properly hydrated
