the seven day forecast, for sure, this evening though you can see showers and storms are firing autopsy cross majority of the region from the poconos , down through our far western suburbs and even, over portions of delaware. lets take a look at this line of storms pushing through mount pocono, and lightening, with these, and, right now we have problems with the storms all weekend long producing heavy rainfall and they are not moving fast at all meaning rains dumped over a particular area for hours on end. as we zoom down to portions of delaware and southern new jersey cumberland county we are seeing another storm crossing in cumberland county around maurice river and dover , this storm was previously tornado warned around ocean city and has push out to sea but again, another active evening filled with these heavy thunderstorms. biggest threat to the north, here's flash flood watch, this has been extended until 6:00 o'clock tomorrow morning, that means these storms could be around with us overnight and through overnight hours, this is in effect for bucks, montgomery counties and berks

the clean up is underway, in ellicott city, maryland where flash floods, claimed the lives of two people. that area got more than a month's worth of rain in just two days. cbs reporter earl barnett has more on the challenge is a ahead. >> oh, my god. >> reporter: this dramatic cell phone video shows people in ellicott city linking arms to save a woman from her car. it was being washed away by force of the flood. >> we all started yelling get out of your car. >> reporter: david was recording the rain sweeping through main street art gallery, he owns with his wife he came upstairs and saw people taking refuge in their foyer. that is when they spotted the stranded driver. >> get out. get out. >> water went from just above the curve to 20 inches higher in the street and, just a couple of minutes.

happens. >> when a storm sits and dumps inches of water it does not take long for to it start erupting like that. it takes 12 inches on the road to lift a car and truck. very dangerous. we have been dealing with it all across the northeast since last friday. >> yes. >> threat continues unfortunately for some spots that have gotten flash flooding in the past few days we still have a flash flood watch in effect for this evening and tonight and yet another round of heavy, slow moving storms, push's cross the area. it is a cloudy damp day, very, very humid outside, all that moisture in the atmosphere heating these storms as they develop off to the north this evening. lets look outside. we will take you to the poconos where it is raining heavily here. this is jack frost big boulder ski slopes there not looking snow covered but rain covered right now. you can see camera lens covered with rain drops as rain comes down heavily. we have a line of stationary thunderstorms moving in the poconos right now. our area in the city has been quiet so far today because of

mainly cloud cover, atmosphere very stable, we did have a few breaks of sun here and there but cloud have won out. keeping things cooler, at 78 degrees but still very humid and still the chance for showers and storms to pop up later this evening or overnight but it does look like biggest threat will remain in our area to the north up across poconos, lehigh valley and portions of bucks and montgomery counties as well. storm scan three shows these storms firing up few more in maryland an and an area that has heavy rain. we have rain over central delaware in south jersey and this line of storms one to watch over poconos where flash flood watch remains in the effect. i showed you that it just has not moved much, in the past half an hour or so. any spots across carbon, monroe counties eventually down into the lehigh valley we will see these heavy storms later tonight. take a peak here, these storms are not every where, problem is that they sit and just dump rain over one particular area we will possibly hours on end that leads to the threat for flash flooding.

8:00 p.m. another chance for thunderstorm in the poconos this nasty looking storm with heavy rainfall meandering through our far western suburbs late tonight at 3:00 a.m. we have activity in the future weather radar. tomorrow morning we will wake up to a stray shower or thunderstorm but progressively during the day tomorrow more sun will try to break out and we will feel humidity dropping throughout the day setting the stage for a pleasant wednesday been a while since we had a nice sunny seasonal comfortable summer daze and wednesday looks like that day. we can see in the past 48 hours many spots across the area in the red or even the purple, over portions of ocean county, over five inches of rain reported there this weekend and flood threat continues this evening, downpours mainly to the north up to three inches of rain possible in anyone of these and just reminder never drive through flooded road. we're in the zero seven's. dew point toss match. still a lot of humidity and moisture to work w these isolated showers and storms will be around through overnight hours, into tomorrow

outside on that 911 call which turned out to be at the wrong property, any case, it seems to be a case of mistaken identity family of the shooting victim tells us that he didn't know there was police on his property. off a country road down a long driveway a south jersey man was almost killed by state police and what some are calling a big misunderstanding, authorities say around 11:30 friday night troopers from the the bridgeton barracks were sent out to do a wellness check in upper deerfield township after someone called 911 and hung up >> they believe a call came from the 300 block of center- ton road. when two troopers knock on the door no one answered so they went around back. as they have shown their flashlights in the rear sliding glass door, gunfire broke out between one of the troopers and home owner who had a shotgun. one officer was grazed by broken glass or gun spray, home owner 76 year-old gerald sykes suffered multiple gunshot wound and flown to cooper hospital in critical condition. >> i think it is very sad, and it is a mistake.
