construction pa turnpike, two right lanes block there. also, more construction on the pa turnpike between downingtown and valley hill road. left lane blocked in that direction. also, some construction 95 northbound between christianna route 58, two right lanes block until right around 5:00 a.m. ladies, back over to you. >> new this morning, police investigating shooting in southwest philadelphia that left a man fighting for his life. it happened on the 2200 block of south 69th street, just before midnight. the victim was shot in the groin, leg, and abdomen. he is in critical condition, so far, there is no motive or description of a suspect. >> the criminal justice center still closed today after accident involving an elevator. >> accident sent sheriff sergeant to the hospital with serious injuries there is all happened yesterday morning, just after 10:00. sergeant paul owens got on the elevator, used only by court staff on the 11th floor. that's when the elevator sped upward, out of control, then

crashed through the ceiling with a sergeant still inside. >> he's in a lot of pain. his family there with him, his mother, wife, former deputy, also. so he has family support and the is her i have's offers is there, fraternal order of police. >> he was taken to hahnemann hospital where he underwent successful surgery last night. second person hurt when debris rained down on second elevator car. that will person had minor injuries. city records show all of the buildings elevators were inspect in the mid june, all checked again yesterday. >> the elevator accident happened just after a hearing for monday seen john william lynn. he will be retried on child endangerment charges in may of next year. lynn was released from prison tuesday. he was convicted for the way he handled complaints that priests were molesting children. but the state supreme court overturned that conviction last week. right now lynn is free on bail, and living with relatives. >> convicted former

philadelphia mob boss, joey merlino, among 46 people indicted in connection with alleged organized crime activities. he was arrested in palm beach county florida and appeared before a federal judge. the wide ranking charges for the group include racketeering, conspiracy, arson, and firearms trafficking. authorities say the mafia family's operated in new york, pennsylvania, massachusetts, and florida, over the last six years. >> philadelphia police need help finding a man wanted for attacking a woman in kensington, that's not the only crime he is accused of committing. this is surveillance video of the man they are looking for. police say he grabbed a woman last month and choke her until she was unconscious. when she finally regained consciousness, she was make behind a building on jasper street. police say the same man is wanted for a murder and four rapes. >> today the summer olympics kick off in rio with the opening ceremony. the olympic torch went through downtown rio last night. it was used to light a small

>> authorities in orlando florida are looking for a man who punch george zimmerman in the face. you will recall zimmerman shot and killed trayvon martin back in 2012. zimmerman said he was talking to a group of people in the restaurant over the weekend about shooting martin. that's when he said a man came up to him and asked if he was bragging and then later hit him. zimmerman called 911. >> waist going on there? >> this man just punched me in

was hurt. incredible video right there. >> it is now 4:43, lauren here with another check on your forecast, lauren, you have been holding it down for katie. glad to have you here. what's going on outside? >> thanks, holding it down early on a friday morning. but conditions are really nice, not put me to too much work. nice quiet day yesterday, again today, quiet conditions, little more mild than our cool temperatures we awoke to yesterday. 70 degrees right now in philadelphia, six an in allentown, but still have some 50's on the board, upper 50's in the poconos, do still have the dry august air in place, dew point down into the low 60s, in some cases 50's, so still feeling pretty comfortable. that will change unfortunately by the end of the day today and definitely tomorrow. we will bring back the humid factor, but right now storm scan3 showing us the trend of the last several days, that's a bunch of nothing. nothing to see. no returns on radar, even on saturday light, just picking up couple every clouds passing through delaware, and through the day today mostly sunny conditions, bit more humid specially as we head into the evening hours, high temperature right around average, hitting on
