let's start with greg arbos at ibew headquarters, greg. >> reporter: good afternoon. we are going in to hour ten of this massive federal investigation, it the is all centered around here the union headquarters at spring garden and 17th street. take a look right there you see that very large penske truck that is what the fbi is using to fill with paperwork, computers all centered around this federal investigation in, to one of the cities most powerful unions. >> fbi and other federal agents, spend most of friday, raiding the offices and home of rahm event in union boss john dougherty. the spring garden street union hall and offices for the international brotherhood of electrical workers, ibew local 98, cordond off by state police and as federal agents piled at least three computers and at least 100 boxes, marked with labels reading payroll, tax record, and investments

into this 30-foot box truck. investigators also combed through dougherty's other office at third street and jackson, serving a warrant and collecting more evident. sources tell cbs-3 news federal agents have collected evidence from at least, eight other locations. >> i'm at a loss. >> reporter: frank kiehl a union spokesperson says that confusion is because he says that local 98's finances, are regularly scrutinized. >> this union local 98 was subject to multiple, external annual audits, and reviews of their finances and there are numerous checks and balances. >> reporter: kiehl says that dougherty is cooperating and the organization has been even more careful, after a similar raid in 2006. >> he is fine. he has been through this, before. as you guys know. so it is somewhat old hat and, he is john. he has nothing to hide. he doesn't know what this is all about. so his spirits are good.

dougherty's home and businesses. alex. >> agents arrived here early this morning and dougherty out of town arrived a short time after that, with things, pretty much wrapping up here, at least here, at 2:30. the labor giant known affectionately known as johnny dock spent the majority of his morning conversing with family and neighbors, as federal investigators searched through his south philly home. >> i'm very comfortable with where we're at right now. once we get this scenario by us, everything will be fine. >> reporter: but what this scenario is remains unclear. fbi has declined further details into this investigation. just a few blocks away agents removed several boxes from a dougherty family business, dock's union pub on the 1800 block of south second street, back at the two family homes, both side by side, about a half dozen boxes were removed in total with no clear indication of what was inside. >> you know i have been under scrutiny my whole life.

our camera rolled as investigators removed evidence from both of henon's offices one at city hall and one on torresdale avenue. henon a electrician by trade now serves as council majority leader, constituents first elected him to city council in 2011 and then again in 2015. but before his time at city hall henon served as political director of the cities electricians union, the international brotherhood of electrical workers, local 98. he started asiana pren advertise there and worked his way up through the ranks. a spokeswoman for the philadelphia city council declined comment citing an ongoing investigation. anita oh for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". well, as we do head into the weekend, a fabulous friday but storm changes are on the the way for us. lets check with meteorologist kate bilo on the cbs-3 sky deck, kate, what is it looking like. >> right now it looks great and it feels great outside as well. it is starting to feel slightly more humid but no complaints on a friday

evening, it will be a great night to be out and about in the city, down the shore or even in the poconos but clouds will start to increase and that will bring some changes. lets start with your weather headlines as we head toward weekend. a stretch of summer stunners lies ahead in the forecast but first is there one blip on the radar, that this system will impact us tomorrow, coming up we will time out your weekend outdoor plans as well, but storm scan three does show where that front is, it is extending from eastern canada right down into portions of the midwest, we will have some showers and storms out ahead of it. we cannot rule out a stray shower or storm overnight especially off to the south over portions of delaware into early tomorrow morning but tomorrow afternoon it looks like time to focus on for these storms. in the meantime it is nice and warm outside, we can see cooler to the the west, 77 in lancaster, 07 in mount pocono, warm 84 here in philadelphia. 81 degrees in millville. future weather shows clouds building in as that front approaches and coming up we will time this out even further, as the storms begin, to move through, tomorrow afternoon. i'll tell you about the timing

well, six people, including four children were hospitalized, when their house was leveled by a explosion in connecticut late yesterday. >> today investigators remained on the scene as they try to determine exactly what caused the blast, so powerful, that it blew blue the front door of the house in, to the neighbors yard across the street. >> these investigators tell me they have a challenging job a head of them picking through debris and trying to find any clues, or any evidence of what may have caused this. >> police say everyone inside the home including a seven year-old boy who suffered the most extensive injuries is expected to survive. this was the scene at an italian airport early this morning when a dhl cargo plane over shot the runway crashed through a guardrail and ended up on a nearby highway. airport and highway were closed for a portion of the morning while crews work to remove the plane. officials say no one was injured in that crash.

parts of the the louisiana are cleaning up from fast moving but very powerful storms. >> torrential downpours, strong wind and tornado, hit new orleans yesterday. authorities say storms damaged several cars and caused at least four abandon buildings to collapse. fortunately only two minor injuries were reported but severe weather definitely rattled more than a few nerves. >> the wind was so strong, it was standing us up. >> all i heard was this this and a big boom. >> reporter: authorities say most of the damage was concentrated in new orleans seventh ward an area hit very hard by katrina in 2005. >> frightening weather there. >> yes. >> we have had beautiful weather here today. >> we have, a beautiful day. it has been a stretch of beautiful days. we just can't get enough. keep it coming. tomorrow will be dealing with a cold front that is moving through with the threat for thunderstorms.hat is moving it is not a total wash out but we will be dodging a few locally strong storms in the afternoon and evening, and then we will also be feeling a ramp up in the humidity.

it will feel very uncomfortable outside tomorrow but it is only one day, and then we're back to the good stuff. lets look at is what going on and time this out. people have weekend plans, maybe plans included this, musikfest begins tonight in bethlehem this is such a huge deal, my husband is from bethlehem, grew up going to musikfest, my best friend from bethlehem as well. always talking about musikfest and how the town just goes crazy and you cannot really park anywhere and really crowded but good time and you can see everything is block off there on main street as festivity, get underway, it should be a a nice evening for that. just a little will bit of the breeze, few more clouds but comfortable outside. tomorrow though you'll be dodging some showers and storms heading out that way. here's front that will make it happen, you can see this line of showers and storms by seeking the great lakes region. we have showers and thunderstorms out ahead of that front as well, those could pop up in portions of delaware overnight and a few getting close, won't be surprised to see a stray shower or thunderstorm there temperatures are seasonal, comfortable 80 degrees in allentown.

eighty-four in philadelphia dew points are in the 60's but overnight into tomorrow we will see dew points rise in the 70's and then eventually tomorrow afternoon dew points in the mid 70's in a few spots down the shore, included. that is very, very steamy air. good news is once that front comes through by midnight we are down in the mid 60's and then sunday's dew points are in the 50's and will completely different sunday. here's the timing. wake up to clouds, hazy hot and humid three, p.m. we have scattered locally strong storms. they are not every where but if you are out and about keep an eye to the sky, have an indoor location to move to. if you have a barbecue or anything like that because here's 4:00 p.m., strong storm right over the city and then eventually down the shore around dinner time hour before finally clearing out saturday night, and sunday we're left with sunshine and much more comfortable conditions. your weekend planner, if you want to get outside here's what it looks like. tomorrow morning not a lot of sunshine, very steamy but until about 1:00 o'clock, you should be fine to be outside. definitely don't spend too much time on the hair or

storms on the radar tonight, beautiful evening over center city philadelphia, it is more humid then yesterday, more humid then it has been but still feels good out there, just warmer, sitting out with the kids, again soccer camp and it was steamy, definitely sweating more than i was a past couple days. we started in the 60's, still not feeling all that bad right now with temperatures in the 80's in the city. seventy-five as we check here in cape may courthouse, not too bad here. we have sunshine. boardwalk plaza and row rebeach looking good. it looks like a busy evening, we have something going on here on the beach in margate, lot of folks out and about enjoying nice evening with sunshine. certainly looking beautiful, to be down the shore this evening. storm scan three does show our frequents front extending down through great lakes and back in portions of upper midwest and ohio valley. we will take a closer look after we check with our eyewitness weather watchers, reporting temperatures in the the lower 80's which is great for this time of the year. 83 degrees as we check with barbara lane in willow grove

story. we will start hazy more cloud then sunshine temperatures heading quickly to 90 degrees but that 90 will feel hotter then 90 when you factor dew points in the 07's and feel more like 95 or 96. steam bath tomorrow but tomorrow evening those showers and storms move through between two and 6:00 p.m. they are scattered, sunday much better mostly sun which lower humidity and monday looks beautiful with high pressure overhead. outside we are still in the not bad range for your friday afternoon and evening. tomorrow right up to oppressive, dew pointing in the low to mid 70's but then cut it back sunday and monday. dew points may be in the 50's for a time which will feel great. tomorrow scattered afternoon storms, generally between two and 6:00 heavy rain a threat, gusty wind, could see a quarter inch to a half inch of rain with these storms, they should be fast movers though so that is good news unlike storms we had last weekend which sat and dumped rain on a particular area leading to the risk for flash flooding. hot and humid afternoon storms 90 in the city, 88 down the shore, very humid down the
