morning. >> reporter: good morning, joe. it seems like any other morning on winding brooke drive very calm, very quiet inside this neighborhood, a few cars still in the driveway but inside of this home behind me here investigators say they made a gruesome discovery yesterday around 3:00 o'clock. five people were shot dead in what appears to be a murder suicide, three of them are young children. officials discovered bodies around 3:00 o'clock yesterday afternoon inside this home here on winding brooke drive and sinking spring in the brookfield manor development just a few miles from reading. the berks county district attorney identified all five victims as part of the short family mark and megan short with their three children leana mark and willow hoff been in the national and local media spotlight before. two years ago their youngest daughter willow received a, heart transplant at six days old and she survived, but she requires daily doses of very expensive medications to make sure that her body did not reject, the new heart and the

family had previously described their troubles in getting that very expensive medications, for willow but at this point it is not yet clear why or who pulled the trigger, yesterday. we're live, anita oh for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> thank if you that are live report. we will check back with you soon. a man is gunned down while pumping gas in south philadelphia. police were call to the 6600 block of essington avenue early this morning, they arrived to find the man had been shot in the head while filling his motorcycle with gas. he was pronounced dead just after 2:00 a.m., no arrests have been made just yet. another man is in the hospital after being shot during an attempted robbery. this one has happened at front and callowhill streets just north of the old sit bring 4:00 this morning. victim was taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition, and police have not made any arrests just yet. police continue to investigate a murder in north philadelphia, a man was shot several times in the 1700 block of jefferson street,

just before 9:00 o'clock last night. victim was hit in the head, chest, torso and arm, he later died at the hospital, no word on a suspect description and police have not yet recovered a weapon. pennsylvania state police are investigating an incident friday night that left a man unresponsive. it happened at joe's crab shock at city avenue just before midnight. state police say a driver who was stopped took off from foot from his rental car. the three three-year old man was chased and during the struggle lost consciousness. man was taken to lankanol hospital. authorities are asking anyone who may have seen this incident play out to call pennsylvania state police. the number on your screen (215)452-5216. this morning concert go hours you are the when a railing gave way at a snoop dog concert are all out of the hospital. but as trang do reports friday's accident did not keep people from heading to camden's bb and t pavilion for another concert last night.

"eyewitness news" at da vinchi's pub in collegeville. we're told fire began outside and traveled up a pole and damaging parts of the roof. employees were able to put the fire out using buckets of water. >> it started as a mulch fire

in the mulch and plant beds and it climbed up a pole, a and then got into the roof line. actually got up into the wood space there was two layers of roof, got in the middle of the void space and burned in that area for a little bit. >> reporter: restaurant thanked patients and staff on facebook saying they are performing perfectly under the condition. a fire fighter is recovering from minor injuries battling a fire at a place in new jersey. it happened in the 800 block of hilton road in pennsauken. authorities say it began in roofing material that was left on the roof. penality saukin's fire chief says toughest part of this fire was dealing with the weather. >> it is just a little more labor intensive then a normal fire but as long as we rotate people through and we have our rehab unit here thanks to the cherry hill fire department. we have good mutual partners. it headaches things a lot easier. >> this one took fire fighters three minutes to gain the upper hand. trial for pennsylvania attorney general kathleen kane begins tomorrow with jury

friday night. police say a man believed to be mentally ill fired at a deputy. the deputy was not hit and he return fire though killing the man, police say that man had indicated that he wanted to make quote suicide by cop. they say they believed the deputy acted correctly. the prime minister of belgium a says that indications are a machete attack there was an act of terrorism. two belgium police officers were wounded and suspect was shot and killed by a third officers. authorities say the attacker was shouting allahakbar during the the attack. both officers are expect to survive. a deadly fire inside a french bar was spark by birthday candles according to official whose say it appears that someone carrying the cake slipped and fell. the candles ignited sound proofing foam in the basement and 13 people were killed, six others were hurt, authorities believe that fumes from the fire not the flames led to the fatalities. some of the north philadelphia's best basketball

the lake have the beautiful day for the poconos and it will stay like that for the next couple of days. it is in the 50's in mount pocono at this hour. 56 degrees officially right now. we are in the lower 07's in philadelphia but in between the suburbs, mid 60's, very nice this morning in the lehigh valley. here's a nice cool pocket of air upper great lakes, 57 in michigan. sixty-five in cleveland. this cooler air mass will rotate through the northeast over the next 48 hours. we will get a few nice day ahead and then we will bring back some heat by the owned of the week so it feels more like typical early august days ahead, but today, tomorrow, awesome stuff here. it will feel pleasant as far as humidity goes. tuesday we will bring back humidity but it noise that the bad. we will be on the warmer side and then wednesday is when it starts to feel oppressive. and that will stay like that all the way into next week even. and then nice and quiet on storm scan three. no threat of any scattered showers or storms like what we had yesterday, so that is great news in the lehigh valley, bethlehem, musikfest going on, shore, forecast

looks great today, new jersey shore, delaware beaches, and then maybe just traveling, you know to day and it looks good all across the region. here's our shore forecast, mid 80's for the air temperatures. ocean water is 76 degrees. uv inn connection very high today with the clear skies and make sure you have the sun block. nice wind from the northwest at ten to 15 mock going out humidity. good news for rip current risk, it is much lower, it has been rough. ocean is calming down but make sure the life guard are on duty. august, we will start seeing an increase in tropical activity but peak is not so early, in september, not much happening, we have two disturbances one east of the bohamas but one off the western coast of florida. 10 percent chance of development. we are looking good as far as tropics go. we had earl make land fall in mexico a few days ago and that has diminish. so no threat there. and then back home we're just looking good. dominated by high pressure. that blocks any major storm systems from developing. and we have had the cold front now have off shore and that pushes out humidity. high pressure remains parked

because she's been in foster care for last couple weeks, well fed federal, getting socialized, the owner just moved and left the dog and talk came into a cruelty case. swift is an absolute little angel. the just a puppy just seven months old, and look what he has already found. when you have a puppy, yes, sit and he knows sit, and i think the advice i want to give today for people looking for the next family member and they get to the shelter because you do want to adopt, not shop, that you really take a look. just as you wouldn't want to be judged on your most stressed bad day, anybody would not want that, neither would the dog. if you get a chance to ask the adoption counselor what fits my lifestyle. i love to run, bike, and jog. then you need an active bigger dog. you like to sit around the house lets get a a smaller dog. don't get the bloodhound if
