"eyewitness news" reporter justin finch is live at the courthouse, in norristown, with the story, justin, good morning. >> reporter: brooke, joe, good morning. kathleen kane was trying to avoid trial with a last minute petition, to get charges thrown out to no avail. and so this morning, about

three hours from now, her jury selection process will begin here at the norristown courthouse. charges include felony, perjury, for allegedly lying to a grand jury, obstruction, official oppression, conspiracy, and false swearing. if convicted of perjury kane could serve maximum seven year jail term, her remaining misdemeanors carry two year max sentence. those charges resulting from a leak of grand jury details to the media, later traced to kane's office. despite state supreme court vote revoking her law license, and a felony arrest, kane remains the state's first woman to hold the attorney general office. most recently kane led a charge against so-called old boys network on clocking he can changes of offensive emails by state workers and per the judge that scandal won't play large factor in her perjury trial, though two state scores justices did step down and several of her own staff also resigned and kane may see some ex staffers soon testifying against her.

and, back live, jury selection begins at 9:00 this morning, here at the norristown courthouse, and we are told that once that jersey seated her trial could begin in short order. and we are live here outside norristown courthouse, justin finch, cbs-3, "eyewitness news", brooke, joe, back into you. >> thanks, justin. >> double shoot something under investigation this morning, in the city's popular neighborhood. police say two men were shot around 11:00 last night. they say when the men parked their cars in the 600 block of brandywine, a gunman opened fire, littering the car with bullets. both victim are said to be in stable condition. investigators are interviewing an eyewitness, and know the name and address of the alleged gunman. >> philadelphia police are investigating the stabbing of two women. it happened late last night on north 61st street, between arch and market. there is no word on what led to the stabbing, we're told, both women are expected to recover. >> we do expect to know little more later this morning, about an officer involved shooting in harrisburg.
