starting to feel a tad muggier, a sign of things about to come our way here, guys, sort of the transition, that we make from comfortable, very pleasant weather, to a little bit more mugginess, and certainly some more heat and the potential for wet weather. so we take quick look at storm scan3, all calm right now. we do again have the influence of high pressure on our side, looking at the dew points, remember, the lower the dew point, drier the air. in short, the better the hair day. you don't have the friz factor going on when the dew point gets nice and low. six an about the dew point temperature that you start to notice a humidity. so little muggy right now in philadelphia. i can note, i definitely notice it here on the skydeck. not oppressive yet. that will change with time however. so hour by hour we go throughout the course of the day here. 88 degrees where we expect to top off happening about 3:00 this afternoon, generally sunshine, but will be some clouds that build in depending where you are, you may see more or less of them regardless, what ' call mostly

sunny day. headlines in the meantime, another pleasant day for early august standards, not bad. although the steaminess returns, as does the heat, talking 90 or above, starting tomorrow, i'll tell you how long that stretch lasts, and also, outline exactly when we will see the potential for more wet weather. meisha, a we send it into you. >> katie, thank you so much. all right, weaver some problems out on the roadways, first i'll show you live cam. ninety-five south before girard. see what you are looking at there, see flashing lights, just the flow moving in the southbound direction, looking pretty good. then the blue route taillights moving in the southbound direction, this is at ridge pike, you can see what you are looking at there, actually looking really nice, right in that area of the blue route. schuylkill taillights moving in the westbound direction past the conshohocken curve, starting to see i would say heat up little bit here, beautiful sky starting to show. now, i want to pull your attention to this, route 130 southbound near columbus road, where a pedestrian has been struck. all lanes are blocked there right now. you will have to take an alternate. 295 is going to be your best

bet. we also have another accident, out here, pa turnpike eastbound before downingtown, involving a motorcycle. tis the season. we have to be aware of our friends on motorcycles. right now, that accident, i'll let you know it it starts to slow you down right now. doesn't seem to be doing so. construction westbound past norristown, two lanes blocked there. joe, over to you. >> meisha, thank you. developing at this hour, you are looking live at the delta ticket counter at philadelphia international airport. pretty quiet there. the airline is still working to get up and running after they had to cancel about a thousand flights yesterday because of a computer glitch. so far four delta flights have been canceled this morning. at this early hour, we are seeing a lot of people in line, at times, after they were forced to adjust plans yesterday. delta is offering a free waiver to customers traveling today. you can check your flight status on line at cbsphilly.com. opening statements start in the trial of pennsylvania attorney general kathleen kane. >> after nine hours yesterday, a jury of six men, and six

women, were pick for the trial. this is video of kane leaving court last night in norristown. she is charged with leaking secret grand jury information to a philadelphia reporter to embarrass enemies, and then lying about it under oath. she has remained the attorney general despite having her law license suspended. kane denies any wrong-doing and said she is a victim of the ghouled old boy's network in politics. >> joey american leo scheduled to appear in a florida courtroom for bail hearing this morning. merlino seen here on the left arrested last week as part of an alleged organized crime ring. he spent almost 12 years in federal prison on a racketeering convection before his release in 2011. >> and the time is now 5:35. in business news this morning, better save up if you want to buy nike's new sunglasses. >> and find out what caused stock price toss finish down monday. money watch's hena daniels joins us live from the new york stock exchange, good morning, hena. >> reporter: good morning,

selling gas must also be on at least 2 acres. opposition at the meeting was strong. >> makes you think about, you know, your local government. you know, they are not looking out for best interest of the resident. >> i don't believe that we need any more gas stations that are going to pollute our area, make extra traffic, and take the value of our homes down. >> cosco has proposed new store in the garden state park development and the amended zoning pass last night would allow gas sales there. cherry hill officials say the store is not yet a sure thing. >> this morning, we are learning there were problems between a singing spring husband and wife. they and their three children were fawn dead over the weekend, in what police have said was a murder suicide. megan short alleged abuse and posted on facebook she needed help moving out of the family's home. meanwhile, relatives say, she and her husband mark were trying to make things work. >> mark was really trying to make it work.

and he took them to disney world, in february, to try and bond the family together. and evidently, it didn't work, because she still wanted to get out of the marriage. it is just so devastating what's happened. we just don't understands it. >> the family was found dead in their home saturday. police say they also found a suicide note, but they are not saying who wrote it, or who fired those shots just yet. >> there are still many questions about what caused an elevator at the criminal justice center to catapult upward seriously injuring a sheriff's deputy. as our greg argos explains, it is not the first time the deputy's family has had to deal with a malfunctioning elevator. >> monday the criminal justice center reopened, back to business after an elevator malfunction last week sent sheriff's deputy to the hospital with serious injuries. forty-eight year old sheriff sergeant paul owens remains in critical condition. investigators say the elevator he was in shot upward,

crashing through the building's top level. >> he is still in an induced coma because the swelling that's that surroundings his brain has not completely gone down. >> trial attorney, who was represented owens' family, says he may never walk again. >> the diagnosis is that he has paralysis. and that's due to the broken back. >> says owens' wife heather janes is in dis belief over frightening coincidence. she her sever was injured in a elevator indent in the same building when she worked there back in 2,009. >> heather was also a sheriff with the city every philadelphia sheriff department. unfortunately, she was injured in the cjc on a restricted use elevator such as the one used by paul. as she was escorting prisoners off of the restricted use elevator, on to the landing, the elevator dropped and she tripped and fractured her ankle which required surgery. >> the lawyer says because that far injury, she had to leave her job, and is now

dealing with what will happen to her husband. >> it is very difficult for heather to talk about it. i think she's remaining strong. i think she has fate. and but she is taking it one day at a time. >> you are using the stairs? >> oh, absolutely, yes, without a doubt. and i hate walking. >> current employees say both the staff and public elevator systems in the cjc have been plagued with problems for years. >> the elevator pretty much stopped. and i couldn't get out. >> elevators stalling, the doors not closing completely, the elevator jolting little bit. >> these staff members say issues have been so often, employees consider break-downs with the elevator system at the cjc common place. >> always a joke amongst the employees. oop, you know, this elevator is stuck, this is broken, this is shutdown. kind of the name of the game over here. >> now we reached out to the state-run department of labor and industry. that's the organization responsible foreign insuring

overall here in our not just the live neighborhood network, but also on "skycam 3", actually shot from the very own rooftop overlooking old philly inquirer building, couple every clouds, generally what you find throughout the day. out necessary s next, checking in with generally speaking, got little variety pack, mid 60s, even mid 50's, in a couple of spots, that's where we will actually turn our folk us a, john jenkins, totally clear sky, 95% humidity currently, should drop off little bit throughout the day. at 56 degrees there, definately one of the cooler spots of the map. meisha, another pretty nice start to the day. hopefully avoid the cloud here, i do think you will see some clouds in spots throughout the day, shouldn't be completely just overcast. fifty-five the other cool spot of the pack here, in gilbertsville, eileen report that within the last ten minute, then, yes, little cool morning. getting ready for the heat. but, yes, it is still august. so, sort of just bridges you back in check, right? little dose of reality looking

forward here. we go to one of the live network cameras, 69 degrees currently outside middle township high school. little haze to the view here, but generally not finding any casino of following, nothing like that. as we look in the nice wide zoom on storm scan, we notice here, the area of low pressure that continues to bring in very, very heavy rainfall, portions of sunshine state, this is the warmfront, though, will be lifting in. that's what's going to eventually be bringing us not just the warmth and the humidity, and then off to the west, kind of tough to make it out here, but there is a very slow moving frontal boundery, what's going to cross through, so as those two pieces try to converge, starting tomorrow, and through the rest of the week, it is hot, it is humid, going to see heat index values on couple every days, spike back to triple digit territory, scattered showered, thunderstorms, some not just heavy but strong, heat starts as early as tomorrow, again, almost any day, starting tomorrow bring shot for shower or storm. back to you. >> katie, thank you so much. good morning, everyone, happy tuesday to you. a lot going on in the world of travel again this morning. looking outside, though, right

now you can't tell by this shot, beautiful shot, 422, headlights moving in the eastbound direction at oaks, looking good, but you can see how many vehicles are out on the roadways this morning, so good indicator, probably little busy. look at this, looks like all fog in delaware county, 95 north at 452, barely see it, you can maybe see few headlights moving in the southbound direction, northbound direction, you can't see anything, trust me, they're out there. you just can't see them. now, we do have couple every accidents going on. so listen up if you are in the new jersey area. accident where it involves a pedestrian, route 130 southbound columbus road. all lanes block here right now. you will have to use an alternate around this area. 295, the new jersey turnpike, probably going to be your best bet as of right now. keep you updated on that. another accident out here, pa turnpike eastbound before downingtown there is one involving a motorcycle. tis the season. we have got to keep our eye out for motorcycle friends, make note of. that will do have construction, black horse pike, northbound route 130, all lanes block there. more updates coming up in a little bit. joe, over to you.
