humidity. we hit 98 degrees. hottest day of the summer. it felt like 111 during the afternoon with the humidity. it will still feel like over hundred degrees today. drink plenty of water. same deal just like yesterday. use common sense. we have excessive heat warning continuing through the entire region with the exemption up in the poconos where humidity levels are slightly lower but still will be unbearable up there. there you go. areas in the purple there or pink or the heat warnings, much of the i-95 corridor all the way up to connecticut and virginia. we are feeling that heat across mid-atlantic. today high temperatures mid 90's in spots, tropical humidity levels. it will feel like 105 in a lot of locations. outside drink water, take it easy, stay indoors and air conditioning if you can. eighty-three the official temperature. seventy-three in allentown. lower 80's in south jersey this is not factoring in the humidity. very warm start just like

"eyewitness news" reporter david spunt is live in the schuylkill river trail where on is people are getting their work out in before these temperatures rise even more, good morning, david. >> reporter: good morning to you. sad news to report yesterday, we are told two women died a 67 year-old in brewerytown and eight two-year old in port richmond. we are live on kelly drive on the river trail and as justin said felt like 111 degrees in some parts yesterday. we don't know anything else, but we know women did have some other medical problems, but two heat-related deaths to report yesterday. that is the tragic news, authorities are making sure people stay cool. twenty-one pools around

expect to be okay. the cause of the crash is under investigation. developing this morning in milwaukee violence breaks out after a fatal police involve shooting. authorities say a crowd of protesters smashed a milwaukee police car into another and neighborhood where an officer shot and killed a man. the gas station and auto parts store were also torched. investigators say an officer was hurt by a thrown brick. police say shooting happened yesterday after a traffic stop and foot chase. one of the two people running from the scene was a 23 year-old man who was armed with the stolen hand gun. >> we didn't know it at the time but there were 23 round in that gun. twenty-three round in the gun that officer was staring at. >> reporter: the 24 year-old officer who shot the man had been on leave and his name has not been released. the officer has been with the milwaukee police department six years three as a officer. authorities are

investigating a shooting involving an off-duty corrections officer in mercer county, new jersey. prosecutors say officer shot and killed a man who was tried to get into his house. "eyewitness news" reporter trang do has the story. >> reporter: woman cleaning up the front yard here said a tragedy occurred and that the family would have no further comment. meanwhile neighbors hearsay they were asleep and didn't hear anything. gunfire erupted on vicky court a usually quiet street in hamilton, new jersey around 4c a.m. police arrived to find dominic neil with the critical gunshot wound to the head lying by the front steps. >> this is like right here, like right around the corner here, so it was a little scary. >> reporter: detectives interviewed the home own shore said he went out to his front porch to smoke between 3:30 and 4:00 a.m. he saw neil coming up the walkway in the black hoodie with his head down one hand on the waist band and other reaching for the door. home owner said he shouted at neil to stop and when he didn't, the home owner fired three to four shots to the storm door striking neil once.

louisiana historic flooding has killed at least three people and officials say

more rain is in the forecast. as omar villafranca reports flood watches are up across southern louisiana. >> crews reached a woman as flood waters swallowed up her car near baton rouge, lou san a they found her dog, under the water. in lafayette water surrounded cars in a hotel parking lot. >> officials say more than 100 roads are cut off as rivers and creeks overflowed their banks. >> this is unprecedented so we do not have record we can go back and see who all will be impact. >> reporter: national guard made countless rescues including this man had been clinging to a tree branch for hours. homes across southern louisiana have been flooded. >> our house has gone under, everything has gone under back there. >> reporter: in jean holmes neighborhood water is knee deep still trying to recover from flooding five months ago. >> pictures you just can't replace and they are still in the big green rubber made from last time and i never put them

philadelphia. near 90 in wilmington. feeling like 94 in millville, new jersey. these numbers are only going to go up from here. storm scan three is quiet this morning. looking at clear skies. as we head in the afternoon like yesterday we will see those cloud build up and watch out for scattered showers and thunderstorms north and west of the city. tories a threat for severe weather up toward lehigh valley and poconos. the reason is there a cold front off to the west but out ahead is where air mass is unstable and we're sitting in it. you can feel heat and humidity to fuel showers and storms. front will try to come through this evening bringing a shower or storm chance. things quiet down thomas front moves off shore. don't expect a big drop in temperatures and or drop in humidity. it happens a little bit but still will feel pretty rough outside even tomorrow. as we head towards tuesday we have another round of showers and storms developing with our next storm system. keyword is scattered for next several days. don't expect to get rainfall every where across the region.
