perjury charges alone could send her to prison. >> kathleen kane made history in 2012, as pennsylvania first woman and first democrat elected state attorney general. now, at the end of her first term, she has made history yet again, with her perjury conviction, that decision was handed down by a jury of six women and six men, at the montgomery county courthouse monday night. county d.a. kevin steel reacted. >> this is about the defendant going before a grand jury in montgomery county, and lying to that grand jury. the evidence was overwhelming in that regard and the defendant was convicted. >> convicted of trying to discredit a state prosecutor, she believed, first leaked info about her to the media by leaking details of a secret grand jury probe to the press. and concocting a cover up. the state called former kane staffers who backed up that account, but kane's defense team never called a single

witness. kane's attorney, gerald, explains. >> this is strategy, and many of my cases, where no witnesses appeared, acquittals resulted, and the opposite is also true. so, it is a strategy obviously we thought that it would work, but i'll be the first person to say we were wrong. >> argued kane's defense was not full one because the judge barred delving into the so-called porn gate scandal, campaign kane with explicit emails, and did not say when she will step down as attorney general. and at the judge's order, kane has given up her passport, and kane's harrisburg office is holding a 1:00 p.m. press conference to discuss her case. and what is next for the agency. brooke, jim? >> thank up, justin. >> now, kane's convictions

questionable spending through credit cards and other payments linked to the proceeds from the philadelphia marathon. the mayor's funds for philadelphia is a non-profit group. >> for the first time since excepting the democratic presidential nomination, hillary clinton is coming back to philadelphia. she is campaigning at west philadelphia high school then watching voter registration drive in the neighborhood. yesterday vice president joe biden joined clinton on the campaign trail in his hometown of scranton. clinton also has family ties to the area, and she is siding for the support every middle class and blue collar workers, the vice president called trump the most unprepared presidential nominee ever. >> this guy doesn't care about the middle class. and i don't even blame him, because he doesn't understand t he doesn't have a clue. he really, i mean, he really doesn't. >> i always remember, i am the granddaughter of a factory worker and the daughter of a small business owner, and i am so proud of it.

>> well, in scranton, vice president gave clinton a tour of his childhood home. meanwhile donald trump will campaign today in wisconsin. yesterday in youngstown, ohio, he proposed controversial immigration policy. it would feature extreme vetting, and an ideological test for admission to the united state. >> we should only admit into this country those who share our values and respect our people. in the "cold war" we had an ideological screening test. >> trump's speech was overshadowed by his campaign chairman, paul manafort. facing scrutiny for ukraine's former president. >> well, in other news, police are investigating a dozen day care center burglaries across philadelphia. just last week, we told you how police said a suspect had broken into nine day care centers over the weekend. another three were robbed.

well, police believe the break-in's happened after hours, and the suspect gains entry in the rear of the property. they also say the suspect usually gets away with electronics, or money. if you have any information you are asked to contact police. >> meanwhile, philadelphia police expect to charge norman bowen today for a string of robberies targeting asian business owners. investigators already have him in custody. they say he may have been targeting asian-owned businesses with homes that are above the shops. another suspect, campbell, is on the loose. both suspect have reportedly struck 12 times since may. >> bill cosby loses another round in court. yesterday, federal appeals court rejected the comedian's effort to re-seal his deposition testimony about extra-marital affairs, and the use of drugs to seduce women. the court ruled the appeal was irrelevant, because the deposition has been widely publicized. cosby is facing criminal charges in connection with alleged assault at his cheltenham mansion.

philadelphia. many waves the american flag as they marched along broad from oregon to city hall. >> well, officials in florida have turned to commercial pest control companies in hopes of stopping the spread of the zika virus, the miami area specially hard hit. so far 30 people have been infected in the state by mosquito by the. authorities hope the extra help will ensure miami dade county has every possible tool to fight zika. >> well, new this morning, authorities in northern california arrest a man they say started a raging wild fire. forty year old damon parkel arrested last night charged with 17 count of arson. fast moving clayton fire has destroyed nearly 200 homes, and caused $10 million in damage. thousands of people have been forced to flea the area. >> multiple tornados hit indianna causing severe damage. >> while residents prepare to clean up, another round of storms are headed their way today. the national weather service confirmed tornados touched down in several central

counties, crossing 70 miles, bringing down trees and power lines, whipping winds, ripping off roofs, and knocking over trailers. >> katie any chance we'll see severe weather around here today? >> i think there is actual lay chance, we are sitting in slight risk across the northern two thirds of our area, once more we have to deal with not just the heat but also now the potential for nasty thunderstorms, actually as we take a look out at the wider zoom on storm scan3, actually still see there are, again, as you had mentioned, some rain, some showers, some thunderstorms headed into illinois and indianna as we speak. the core of the system that's expected to drag this cold front through, that at least bypasses us, so not dealing necessarily with any of this mess. you can see it already well bypassing even lake erie for the most part. that's no concern. it is the trailing front that poses problems for us here today. that's got to cross through. that's what is eventually going to end up bringing us much lower humidity level, it is cold front, not really cooling off too much. at least we break out of the

90s being but more importantly the humidity levels drop. so, now, we're just biting our time. waiting for that to happen. so the humidity still pretty oppressive. stays that way here again today. we dare call it unsufferable. that's where we will be. by tomorrow, still steamy, but transition day, where the worse of the humidity is starting to drop off. but starting off steamy, getting gradually more and more comfortable as the day progresses, come thursday, friday, oh, it will feel like a breath of fresh air by comparison. keep in mind, our heat hotline or the pca heat hotline is still active here today. and if you are finding yourselves just not feeling right, give them a call. just don't play around with this. take care of yourself, okay, guys, today those heat index could spike as 106. call (215)765-9040. nature park, still quiet scene out there. doesn't it look innocent? you still have the south to southeast winds flow to keep things steamy.

won't necessarily be breed i -- breezy or windy day, but could be gusty thunderstorm, high of 93, we break the worse of the pattern starting tomorrow. and then by thursday, friday, and saturday, much nicer, and, frankly, more seasonable weather returns, meisha. >> so great for the weekend. all right, katie, thank you so muchment looking outside, guys, things looking pretty good. good morning if you are just waking up with us, so glad you're here, looking at the schuylkill here, headlights actually moving in the eastbound direction, this is at montgomery, westbound side kind of keeping my eye over here as well, overall both eastbound and westbound on the schuylkill, bayly, in i where i look, actually looking pretty good this morning for those every you headed out on the roadways, blue route, same story, past mid-county pushing southbound what you are working with, northbound side not really paying much attention. really the southbound side, actually looking good, fairly typical, typical in the world of travel not bad thing. boulevard southbound, push toward that schuylkill, southbound direction, you are looking pretty good. early risers coming and pushing southbound, but overall things looking good here, as well. we will start to see this heat

up specially on tuesday morning, we will start to see this heat up i would probably say in the next 30 minute or so. vine was not closed for that overnight construction, so vine pushing in both the westbound and eastbound side. that's what you are looking amount. looking good. you are starting to see brake lights go off on the westbound side, as you head to jump on to the schuylkill. so make note of that. a lot of vehicles just now starting to get on the roadways, overall, things are still looking good this morning. brooke, over to you. >> thanks, meisha. for a look at newspaper headlines, from across the region. pennsylvania state police investigating grim discovery yesterday. a body was found in a shallow wooded area along baltimore pike in glen mills. the identity of the victim is not yet known. >> on the front page of the intelligence err, pennsylvania will get $250,000 grant to improve it paid family leave policies. the federal grant is for planning programs that allow employees to take paid time off, when they need to take care of seriously sick or hurt family member or when a new

head coach doug pederson claims he learned about it last week when it became public. pederson will address the media today. there is no timetable on when johnson could be suspended, although, he has stated he fully expect it to happen. so stay tuned. scary moment at the olympics last night when a camera suspended over the crowd fell. seven people were injured when the camera came down at olympic park. the camera was reportedly the size after motorcycle, and fell about 65 feet, injuring seven people. two children were hit by the cable, none of the injuries was described as serious. the camera belonged to the official olympics broadcasting unit. >> to the games, where american gymnast, simone biles lost her chance at five gold medals on that stumble right there. she was favored to win the gold on the balance beam, but finished with a bronze behind gold medal winner send a weavers, and silver medalist, lori hernandez every team usa. biles will get a shot at
