12:18 pm
if you've received any other meningitis b vaccines. meningitis b can be spread by typical sharing like... a drink... a spoon... a kiss. it all started here... it might have been prevented with trumenba. ask your doctor or pharmacist about trumenba. welcome back, wild weather out west has tornados slam indianna. these storms caused major
12:19 pm
damage. the national weather service confirmed tornados touched down in several central counties crossing 70 miles, bringing down trees, and power lines. whipping winds also ripped off roofs and knocked over trailers. i mean, this is scary stuff, talking about flooding in louisianna, these tornados here, terrifying. >> wild fires out west, lots of extreme weather going on, seems, right nowment and for us, the the extreme deadly heat. >> and it has, in fact, as you reported, yes, proven deadly for some folks here in our area. so, you know, we all kidding aside, i want you to just take care of yourself. if you start to feel dizzy, something not right, seek out the air conditioner, and also, call that heat line that we mentioned earlier in the show. it is really important this heat can be dangerous if you are not smart about it, all common sense comes into play on daze like this. just take care of yourself we'll all get through it together. >> see how this stacks up so far this year, compared to previous years with the heat. doing pretty well, guys, so far in this year alone, 31
12:20 pm
days that hit at least 09 degrees. so, quite, couple of different heatwaves actually as a result of that. and, you know, pretty much on pace here, that we have shot to actually match at least, last year's number of 37 degrees, so see how we do. but 31 thus far for 2016. where we stand. looking at storm scan3, more rain on the way for those poor folks in louisianna. as far as the overall weather pattern, core of circulation, cold front trailing behind it cold front needs to cross through for us to feel relief. storm sent letter bypass us, but in advance of that, we're just beading time, waiting for the front to cross. so we do sit? slight risk for severe weather, northern two thirds of our region that have the shot for heavy downpours, gusty winds, frequent lightning at this point though we showed you earlier there is nothing to track locally, but i would say, give it until about maybe 2:00, 3:00. start to see things bubble up here at the local level on the
12:21 pm
radar. in the meantime, just feeling awfully oppressive outside, with feels-like values as high as the triple digits for yet another day. but notice what happens here. cold front crosses through, humidity begins to at least drop off. now, it is going to be a gradual change, you know, we start to see the dew point dropping off somewhat slowly, but will happen. that's the key here. now, outside we go to pleasant valley middle and high school here. these kids, these football players, do you see them, the little folks out there? welshing they look little to us, but regardless, they've been out there since this morning. so, hopefully they're taking frequent breaks. i'm sure the coaches are on top of that. very warm up there, as well, northampton county. 83 degrees, is the temperature outside middle township high school. cape may courthouse, nothing but sunshine. so you have variation of cloud cover depending on location, but we're all in it, it is warm outside currently, we're close to 90 already in the city and points south of that. and we'll have no problem hitting the low to mid 90s most locations here, before it is all said and done. so, we are tracking thunderstorms, again, as early
12:22 pm
as next few hours from now, 2:00, 3:00 or so. they'll rumble eels. possible we see that in time for first pitch with the phils, but regardless i think they'll get the game in. might be minor delay if anything at all. then finally, breathe in that fresh air, guys, especially by thursday, and friday. humidity basically wiped clean, still warm, it will be a heck the a lot more refreshing for you, much more comfortable. >> let's go straight to the weekends, i don't care about anything else. >> good to know, okay. actual ' care about this, though, i promise. so surprise, there is a new baby panda in the world. no, really. it was a surprise. a giant panda gave birth to two cubs in austria recently, the thing is zoo keepers only new about one, for days. and here's what happened. the zoo is only monitoring the panda's by camera right now, trying not to disturb the birthing process, since the baby panda's are tiny this one only 4 inches long, really was easy for it to hide. zoo reps say no other european
12:23 pm
zoo has managed to breed giant pandas naturally. this is amazing. >> little twins. >> i know, they thought one, few days later, looks like there is two. >> that's precious. >> isn't this great? as long as mama's and babies are happy and health. >> i and the panda keeps them warm. so easy to know soot them. >> okay, we'll be back.
