meanwhile here on the scene you can see dozens of philadelphia fire fighters still here at broad and wharton. the fire is under control but crews have been working on hot spots. take a look at these photos. here's what neighbors woke up to in south philadelphia just after 1:00 a.m. woman living across the street, snapped these pictures for "eyewitness news" as she grabbed her purse and ran outside she called 911. fire fighters were fast. first truck was rolling up to the burning row home as she was on the phone. now crews encountered heavy smoke, flames and took them a couple hours to get this two alarmer under control. crews were busy making sure everyone was out of the building and no would be needed rescue. fire commissioner tells thus row home that caught fire this morning is an occupied home, but no one was at home at the time. eyewitnesses recall kay uses when this fire started, some even report seeing, lightening and hearing sirens and horns. lets take a listen. >> i was sleeping. i thought there was a fighting

on at broad street because usually is there people yelling and shouting at all times of the night and then just found it urgent so i jumped up, looked outside window and there was a guy like tapping his car, screaming, wake up, wake up, and everybody, there is like just knocking on all of the doors along the block. >> the heat is really still hot out here. even after the storm it is not as hot as it was but it takes a toll. they have been working. i was down here. on sunday we had three fires going at the same time across the city. so our fire fighters are medics working in this heat for almost a week now and it takes its toll. hard to stay hydrated out here doing this every night. >> reporter: you heard there the commissioner talking about the brutal heat that crews have been dealing with the past week. now fire fighter who was injured was taken to jefferson we're told for smoke inhalation and overheating. you can see here that fire fighters are working in humid,
