look at this, yes, quiet morning indeed. no, no, accident out there, pretty serious one, and lot of construction to talk about. >> at least things are pretty quiet weather wise, we are as you mentioned still watching little activity retreat on storm scan. any showers out of here. there is the possibility that across at least east send thal new jersey, still left over shower, but generally speaking high pressure is hooking us up with nice end to the week. it is going to be a hot end to the week, that said, we are expecting these temperatures at least to the mid to upper 80s, at least pushing 90 in a couple of spots, right now, current temperature is 74 at philadelphia international airport. we're in the mid and low 70s, basically, everywhere else. say, for some of the most outlying suburbs, and highest terrain. now, as the day progresses here, we're going to eventually again warm up with ease, but i do expect that generally again you'll see some sunshine out there. so, it bolds well for the tail end of the work week, perhaps looking ahead to nice three day weekends, it will be hot day. again, generally sunny, watch

for the possibility that there could still be just a left over sprinkle, i mean, talking just isolated in nature. but, that said, majority of the region seeing the sunshine, top it off at 90, seasonably hot, we call it here, in philadelphia, just couple every degrees above the average. low and mid 80s then in the resort town. how much there is isn't going to be carbon copy down the road. eventually storms do return. we'll track those for your weekend coming up. >> looks pretty good. >> felt good this morning, low humidity. thank you so much. looking outside, you guys, let's get right to, we have a lot to talk about this early construction, right lane wissahickon, also make note, close to the shot we do have accident close to henry avenue. so make note of that, as women. obviously still early, still dark out there, not a lot of vehicles out on the roadway, won't slow you down too much. just want to gave you a heads up it is out there, it will slow you down if you are planning on leaving the house maybe in 30-45 minute or so. then construction here, hard to see this kind of a hazy

jumpy camera, but construction 95 north off ramp to girard closed until right around 5:00 a.m. see the air kind of direct being traffic again still early but heads up. disable vehicle here, 309 southbound approaching the turnpike, also the vine closed overnight, see maybe the westbound side just starting to open eastbound side still closed. this is the more serious accident in delaware, in glaxo, delaware, involving tractor-trailer and vehicle. few people have been transferred to the hospital here. route 896 southbound closed at route 40. tractor-trailer again versus the car we know that sometime when we have more serious accident like this specially that involving a track or trailer takes little longer to move it out of the roadway, i'll keep you updated as we progress through the morning. >> two american swimmers detained in brazil are on their way home this morning. >> that's right, begin err benz and jack conger arrived at rio de janeiro airport overnight. police in brazil say the two men along with ryan lochte and feigen robbed about being

robbed at gunpoint. surveillance video shows them at a gas station, they vandalize the the bathroom, argued with the security guard, then left $50 to pay for the damage. a former federal prosecutor who specialized in international law called lochte robbery story a bad move. >> little free legal vice, when you're under those circumstances, come home, keep your mouth shut, get on with your life. >> feigen the last swimmer in brazil, provided revised statement to officials san says he hopes to get his passport back to return home soon. it is still possible police in rio could charge the men for falsely reporting a crime. >> new this morning, two men were shot in south philadelphia. >> the shooting happened right outside chinese take out restaurant, "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo live outside south detective with the latest on the investigation. morning, jan, what can you tell us? >> jim, brooke, good morning, where those two men are recovering in the hospital this morning, after they were shot in the stomach over

night, fortunately, they are both expected to survive. meanwhile, police are now tracking down the shooter and think do have some help. the shooting suspect actually caught on surveillance videoment take a look at this, this is where the shooting happened around 11:30 last night on the corner of 23rd and mifflin street. they got a bunch of calls after the shooter unloaded a semiautomatic weapon. and investigators found 16 spent shell casings at the scene. they also found one of the victims there, 44 year old man who was taken to presbyterian hospital by police. the other victim, 39 year old man, was discovered short distance away at broad and mckeon, he was taken to jefferson, both are in stable condition. now, no one else was injured thankfully in this hail of gunfire, two parked cars, and a chain east take out restaurant were hit by stray bullet, though. meantime investigators have some leads in tracking down this shooter. there are number of private cameras in that area. there are also police real time cameras that actually captured the shooter. that will footage now giving police a description of the

person they are looking for. >> he is described as a male, 6 feet tall, wearing a beard, wearing a light colored hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, possibly jeans, and he's last seen fleeing on foot eason ziegel street from 23rd. report report now, police will continue to process that scene today and search for more video, again, there are private cameras in that area. terrifying to gain access to the footage to see if that will help. meanwhile, no motive for the shooting. anyone with information should call police. reporting live in south philadelphia this morning, jan carabeo, cbs-3, "eyewitness news", back to you. >> hearing exclusively from elderly man who nearly died after being shot in his own home by new jersey state troopers. now the shooting happened just before midnight on july 29th, in upper deerfield township. authorities say two troopers were investigating a 911 hang-up call, when they arrived at gerald psychs house by mistake. now, what happened next remains under investigation.

but there was an exchange of gunfire. one trooper suffered a graze wound, and the 76 year old homeowner was shot three times. >> i had a collapsed lung, two fractured ribs, ripped diaphragm, destroyed spleen, perforated bowel. i'm alive and beginning to feel better. a lot of the pain is subsiding now. >> at this point authorities are not saying who fired first. >> a former teacher and a school custodian are among 40 men arrested in a massive crackdown on the distribution of image every child sex abuse in new jersey. officials dubbed the six month investigation operation state-wide. investigators tracked these images and video circulating on internet file sharing networks to individual ip addresses, police say, this led them to home addresses in each of the state's 21 counties. >> well, the state department confirms that it held ton a plane field with $400 million

4:43, katie here with another check. >> once more at least in the influence of high pressure, brief visit being paid to us by high pressure, but typically, high pressure will bring you fair weather there could be spotty shower, it is really going to be the exception rather than the norm. but i like to bring it up just in case, you plan on full day outside, and you see a raindrop, wondering what the hexy was talking about. that's where that comes in. for the most part you will see some sunshine here today, another hot one. now, obviously some activity going on across the rest of the map here cold front bridges us serious pattern change, good one at that, that's still starting to get its act together. we are going to get most of the weekend in here, without any major hitches. but, it starts to get little steamier for us, and we eventually have to dodge some heavy showers and thunderstorms, it looks like, headed into the weekend. so we get to that in the seven day. quickly i want to focus on the

tropics. here is tropical storm, still tropical storm fiona. not actually expected to increase or upgrade in any kind of way in terms every it categorization, but still at this point expected to remain basically out to sea, still, keeping an eye on what may potentially mean for bermuda, then there is this guy, this about 50% shot over the next five days, to develop into something where it would become a depression or named system. so keep eye on the tropics here, meanwhile, as it pertains to our forecast today, looks great, later tonight we drop down to 73 degrees looks like very nice day, warm, 09 the high, hot in philadelphia, flirt with the 90s saturday, sunday, sunday night specifically, heavy downpours, and thunderstorms are set to develop. then it looks like the front clears the coast, then monday into fantastic weather pattern. look ahead to that, meisha. >> all right, katie, thank you so much. travel this morning?

good morning, very happy friday to you, we are looking ahead to pretty nice end to the work week overall, but a cold front scheduled to cross through this weekend, and that's going to produce next rounds of potentially stronger thunderstorms, specific to sunday night, but the atmosphere will be moistening up in the meantime, so here go on storm scan. any showers we had overnight have long as since departed the coast. may still be a very isolated left-over shower, or sprinkle, in portions of new jersey, but
