will be good. so if you can get outside now, take advantage of the dry weather. we have some sunshine around the city, even up north and west, into kutztown, looking live at the neighborhood network. kutztown area middle school, sun mixed when some clouds, 73 degrees, right now, nice shot in. the sun rays coming through the clouds, southeast breeze at 6 miles per hour, again, bringing in that humidity, so very muggy day today. that will help fuel some heavier showers later this afternoon. most of the rain still well to the west. the colds front, out across the ohio valley, out ahead of it, just warm, very humid. probably see some thunderstorms fire up, once we get into the maximum heating of the day, by mid afternoon, because we do have decent amount of sunshine over us right now. that should destabilize the atmosphere, heads up basilica of saints peter and paul mid afternoon. seventy-five up in allentown, of the mount pocono, we're warm everywhere, even the ocean temperature upper 70s, so not whole lot of difference for the air temperatures along the shore with the wind off the water at 79 in ocean city, 75 in stone harbor. so overall, it is not a bad beach day. looks like these storms hold
8:17 am
off until the evening, so going to do pretty good, jersey shore, delaware beaches. eighty-four for the high today. breeze kicks up out of the north tomorrow. so the humidity drops 81 degrees comfortable with increasing sunshine, tuesday, look at that, high temperatures in the 70s, along the coast. now, again there is afternoon, severe storm threat, marginal risk, that means about 5% chance. but the risk is there. for the areas in green here, the exception far eastern new jersey, atmosphere just little more stable there. looks like it will have harder time of getting some storms. by 2:00, you can see, scattered showers, few thunderstorms breaking out across the region. and that threat continues until the early evening hours, around the city probably between like 4:00 and 6:00 best shot to see the wet weather. it moves into eastern new jersey, by 9:00, 10:00 most of the showers move off shore. cold front passes tomorrow morning, we wake up with the sunshine, big drop in the humidity, it will throw pretty nice once you step outside. we could use the rain across the region. so some of these heavier showers could produce rainfall amounts, maybe up to half inch or even more.
8:18 am
if you get stuck under one of those heavier thunderstorms. look at the temperatures, today, little bit cooler than yesterday. just due to some clouds. mid and upper 80s, still very humid. tonight we drop to the 60s in some spots. so start to feel little better tomorrow morning. then, highs tomorrow, actually right near average, maybe couple of degrees below average, in the low and mid 80s, check it out, this is tuesday morning, we are waking up with temperatures well down into the low 50's, potentially in the northwest suburbs, even around the city. low 60s, that's not bad for late august. that's some of the coolest temperatures we've seen since june, you can open up the windows starting tomorrow. 88 degrees for the high today. afternoon showers and storms, still some storms around early this evening, with low of 72 for the city. and here is the extended forecast, really nice week ahead. low and mid eight 80s, so at or slightly below average with the sunshine, very low humidity levels at nighttime. we will be in the 50's, six off's, don't get used to the cool temperatures, because you got to remember, still august, there is a loft time for some heat, looks like some of that builds back up on friday, maybe shower or storm with
