weather retreating, finally going to see a stretch now of really nice days. so the humidity has dropped off. if you have yet to step outside, just wait. it feels so much more comfortable, dairy say cool. these are air temperatures right now, depending where you are, granted, pretty mild in philly, 71 the current temperature, but flirting with the 50's in the poconos, actually there at the end of the nice clear sky in lancaster, so this is going to be one of those mornings that just feels like again breath of fresh not just metaphor i cannily speaking but breath of fresh air literally speaking here, as we top off granted still to pretty warm 88 degrees, it is so much less humid, the perception is it will feel so much more comfortable to you. granted with the lower dew points, actually is. so, other than the breeze out there pretty phenominal hair day. >> i was going to say, too, i was going to go oh, this is like my favorite weather. but can you imagine how many people are totally on board with that? this is like perfect weather

looks great. >> katie, so nice, especially after what we were dealing with last week. good morning, happy monday. roads are also looking really nice this morning, looking at the vine right now, not closed overnight for construction, yeah, so moving in the westbound eastbound side, looking real nice. westbound side i would say heating up actually little quicker than the eastbound side on a monday we can usually expect. that will we know it will be overnight closures for the rest of the week, right now looking really good. you can see eastbound starting to heat up, as women, only 4:30 in the morning, that's good indicator, little hotter on the roadways, 959 southbound, s curve looking nice and quiet. ben franklin bridge, beautiful shot to wake up to. looking really nice there. and then we do have some construction, crews out here 202 north, at mall boulevard, make note of that, not going to slow you down, but certainly can over the next 20 minutes if we don't get it out of the way. overall things looking pretty good. new regional rail schedules are in place, lansdale,

doylestown, west trenton, media, elwyn anwar minister. >> police are investigating a deadly home invasion in philadelphia's hunting park neighborhood. >> a husband and a wife were both shot right in front of their children. "eyewitness news" reporter justin finch is live at the scene with the latest on this investigation. good morning, justin, what can you tell us? >> hey there, good morning, we are told there are six kids at the time of the shooting, who were home, none were hurt, but a 35 year old woman was shot twice, she is now in critical condition at temple hospital. thirty-five year old man whom police identify as her husband, and those kids' father, was shot. once in the stomach, declared dead, here on the scene, on the second floor of that home. again, with that single shot to his abdomen. homicide detectives are now on the case of this home invasion turned homicide, it is believed to have gun just before 1:00 a.m. with 25th district police responding soon after to this home on the 3700 block of north seventh street, in a

second floor back bedroom, police say two men barged in demanding money. then, one man shot that 35 year old father at close range, in his stomach, using a shotgun. the gun then turned on the 40 year old woman, said to be that male victim's wife. she was shot in her right forearm and her face and neck area and was able to communicate with police en route to temple hospital where she is now in critical condition. also, home, six children ranging in age from five years old to age 13. it is believed some of those kids may have been in the room and saw that deadly ambush. meantime, police and crime scene investigators were called in for clues and did fine some leads. >> our 25th district police did a great job. they found in the rear driveway a sack containing live shotgun shells and also with a appears to be a knit skull cap or mask.

also in the rear alley at a separate location, not far from where the shotgun shells were found, police did finds a shotgun. >> and so this morning we have three scenes, the home of those alice, for additional clues, shotgun, also a mask may have been found, as women. police also have a nickname id for one of the shooters possibly, they also have surveillance cameras from the area that could help in their investigation. as for those kids, they are in the care of grandparents at this time, and that woman who is now in critical condition at temple, she is not believed to be the mother of any of those children. we'll bring you much more coming up throughout the day. live here in hunting park, justin finch, cbs-3, "eyewitness news", jan, jim, back into you. >> justin, thank you. in other news, convicted child molester jerry sandusky back in court today, trying to get his conviction thrown out. he said his lawyer was not effective. right now he is serving 30 to 60 year sentence for sexually

abusing ten boys. the abuse happened between 1994 and 2008. >> the search is on for the suspect who shot and killed a man in burlington county over this weekend. police say 26 year old samuel james opened fire on the 100 block of east federal street striking byron turner in the head. turner died and five year old girl was injured as she tried to run awayment family and friends gathered sunday to remember turner, and call for an end to the gun violence. >> we have to deal with the loss of my nephew, my sister's son, but at the same time, we're dealing with the loss of our community. >> now, police say samuel james is dangerous, and should not be approached. if you have any information, please call police. >> second person now charged in the murder of a penn state professor whose body was found at the bottom after quarry in center county earlier this month. thirty-two jerold daniel guyer arraigned over the weekend on murder charges. police say she helped plot the death of her uncle,

communications professor ronald bettig. they say he was pushed 80 feet to his death by 39 year old george ishler angrierer did nothing to stop it. they say ishler and guyer thousand they could benefit from donald betting's will. >> hit-and-run killed homeless veteran in a wheelchair, 29 year old andrew acito charged with homicide by vehicle. police say he was under the influence early saturday morning, when he struck the 37 year old victim on lehigh avenue near mascher street. police say aceto then sped off, hit a 18 year old woman, that bamm suffered minor injuries. police pulled over aceto's pick-up truck a few blocks from the scene. >> major announcement from the catholic diocese, three more church rest are shutting down. >> saint john of the cross,
