"eyewitness news" reporter justin finch is live at the scene with the latest on this investigation. good morning, justin. >> reporter: report jan, good morning, six children safer with their grandparents, outside their home police and homicide detectives continue their investigation this morning, now, entering hour four, inside that north seventh street home, a couple gunned down, a man and woman shot in their second floor bedroom, not too far away that now that deceased man's children. this homicide invasion turned homicide is believed to have gun just before 1:00 a.m., 25th district police were dispatched to this home on the 3700 block of north seventh street, where in a second floor back bedroom they

found 35 year old father shot in the stomach reportedly by a shotgun. he was declared dead on scene. nearby, a 40 year old woman, said to be his wife. she was shot in her right forearm and face and neck area, and was even able to communicate with police en route to temple hospital where she is reported in critical condition. also, home, that dad's six children, ranging in age from five years old to age 13, it is believed that some of them may have been in that bedroom during the deadly ambush, police walked us through what may have happened upstairs. >> we believe two males entered the property possibly through a first floor rear kitchen window. they went to the second floor rear bedroom, that's when they encountered the male and female victims. they demanded money. for some reason, the male was shotgun shot both of the

this morning, suffering from smoke inhalation, the cause of a fire is under investigation. >> and, two firefighters are recovering from injuries battling a fire in bensalem. it broke out on tennis avenue sunday afternoon around 2:00. one firefighter suffered diabetic shock, the other was burn, no other injuries were reported, and there is still no word on what sparked that fire. >> well, police need your help catching a suspect they say shot and killed a man in burlington county over the weekend. police say 26 year old samuel james opened fire on the 100 block of east federal street striking byron turner in the head. turner died, and five year old girl was injured as she tried to run away. police say samuel james is dangerous and should not be approached. >> we really want the public to know be very careful around this individual, dial 911. the active violence that he did last night was in restless disregard for any human life. >> family and friends held a memorial sunday to remember

police officers, sheriff's deputies and state troopers and other essential resources and assets to providing security for the president. >> a network of relief now building across louisianna, the salvation army has even deployed mobile feeding trucks and tide providing laundry services to flood victims. >> right now, local red cross workers are volunteering, and also assisting in louisianna. the flooding in louisianna was the worse natural disaster to hit the united states since super storm sandy. early estimate predict relief effort could cost at least $30 million, and this number may grow. many of the calls for help are being diverted to our local red cross centers in center city, more than 10,000 calls have come in from people in need or from people wanting to help. >> can you imagine if the water roast to your second floor? could you imagine losing everything, that you have ever owned? that is the level of emotion, and intensity that you hear in

currently burning. >> now, that includes the reefier in santa barbara county, expanded to more than 21,000 acres, sent a giant cloud of smoke, high into the atmosphere. right now it is about 20% contained, there is no word on its cause. >> and another california wild fire, this one's called the chimney fire, is threatening the famous hurst castle. california officials have closed the tourist attraction, but the visitors center remains open for now. firefighters say the fire is about 4 miles from the castle but fortunately it is burning in the other direction. the chimney fire is about 35% contained. >> off initials san bernardino lifted all evacuation orders for residents sunday afternoon, about 82,000 people were ordered to leave their properties on tuesday, when the fire broke out. 60 miles east of los angeles. most of the people returning will fine their homes intact. >> a man dice at a water park in washington state. eyewitnesses say lifeguards were slow to react.
