got couple of days straight hereof fantastic weather to enjoy. in the city of philadelphia, expecting the high to officially hit about 83 degrees, but by 3:00 p.m., 82 or so, with that sunshine, overhead, and if you are lucky enough to be spending the day at the shore, well, the next couple every days are looking phenominal. try to get in kim of the extra vacation days if you haven't burned them yet. nice way to do it in the full sunshine, not just at the shore, pretty much everywhere else, but at the beaches talking right around 80 degrees, give or take, for every day of the next few. looks awesome, meisha. >> can you not help. >> can you beat that? >> i really can't. katie, thank you so muchment happy monday. looking outside, it is actually looking really nice. nothing can beat that forecast. but i will say your morning commute, just thinking about headed out on the roadways right now, it is starting to heat up just little bit. overall things are great this morning. we had one minor accident

earlier this morning, just little bit of construction, still out there, and a lot of that is actually new construction. so first 95 taillights moving in the southbound direction at the airport, see what you are looking at, there looking good, both moving in the southbound and northbound direction. a look at the schuylkill, taillights moving southbound direction, eastbound side certainly starting to east up. westbound side as well. overall looking good, kinds of holding stead there we crack into the 6:00 hour. but you can see how many vehicles are out there. boulevard taillights moving in the southbound direction, past broad street. this is what you are looking at here, boulevard looking real nice there. more on the schuylkill at the boulevard where you are starting to slow down little bit. construction here 422 eastbound between trooper and route 202, right lane block, afternoon construction 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., will go through friday. jim, over to you. >> thank you shall meisha. well, father is shot to death and his wife is fighting for her life after a home invasion in hundred g park. justin fin itch live at the scene with their reaction, good morning, justin. >> reporter: jan, jim, good

morning, we found moments ago, some on this hunting park block are waking up to word of the deadly home invasion here on their street, just few doors down, they are surprised to hear 35 year old father was gunned down in a second floor bedroom of that home, his wife shot twice, and critically injured. close by, in that bedroom, his six children, who are now father-less. the detectives are now on the case of this home invasion turned homicide believed to have gun just before 1:00 this morning. with 25th district police called soon after to this rowhouse on the 3700 block of north seventh street. in a second floor back bedroom, police say, two men barged in demanding money, and then using a shotgun shot him in the stomach, then the gun turned to be woman, shot in nerve right arm, face and neck area, but somewhat was able to talk to police en route to temple hospital where she now in critical condition.

also, home that dad's six children, ranging in age from five years old to age 13, it is believed, that some of them may have been in the room during that deadly ambush. neighbors who describe this family as kind, quiet, tell us their heart breaks for their lost this morning. >> it is devastating. it is ridiculous. i would die. >> now, police have recovered additional ammo, also, a knit cap and a shotgun in a alley nearby. they also may have a nickname for one of the shooters involved in this attack. though, six children are now in the care of their grandparent, and also, as for that 40 year old wife, she is at temple in critical condition, again, there are surveillance cameras in the area, police are hoping they have caught those two men escaping, than wife we are told is not the mother of these children, but of course i'm sure they're venders concerned about her this

morning, jim, jan, into you. >> thank you, justinment meanwhile in other news happening today convicted child molester jerry sandusky will be back in court. the former penn state coach is trying to get his conviction overturned, because he says his lawyer was ineffective. sandusky is currently serving a 30 to 60 year sentence, for sexually abusing ten different boys, between 1994 and 2,008. >> authorities charge a relative in the murder of a penn state professor. his body was found at the bottom of a car any center county earlier this month. thirty-two year old danielle guyer arraigned over the weekends on murder charges, police say she helped plot the death of her uncle, communications professor, ronald bettig. investigators say ronald bettig was pushed 80 feet to his death by 39 year old george ishler and guyer did nothing to stop it. >> he doo not deserve to die this way. drugs, mental illness, not an issue, no excuse for killing someone. none.

>> reporter: police say ishler and guyer thought they could benefit because after will donald betting recently signed. >> burlington county over the weekends, 26 year old samuel james opened fire the 100 block every east federal street, striking byron turner in the head. turner died and fifth year old girl was injured as she tried to run away. family and friend gathered sunday to remember turner, and call for an end to the gun violence. >> we have to deal with the loss of my nephew, my sister's son, but at the same time, we're dealing with the loss of our community. >> police say samuel james is a dangerous individual, and should not be approached if you have any information, you are asked to call police. president obama will visit louisianna tomorrow, to see first-hand the worse flooding this nation has seen since hurricane sandy. flood waters are receding and the clean up now underway. at least 13 people died in the

flooding. and six off thousand homes were damaged. fema has set up two disaster recovery cents, already approving $55 million in temporary assistance, plus, $15 million in advance national flood insurance payments. and right now, local red cross workers and volunteers are also on the ground, assisting louisianna flood victims. early estimate predict relief effort in the state could cost at least $30 million. and this number may grow. many of the calls for help are being diverted to our local red cross center, in center city. more than 10,000 calls have come in from people in need, or from people wanting to help. >> can you imagine losing everything you ever owned? that's the level of intensity that you hear in the calls. >> the red cross is providing shelter and food to thousands of people impacted by the disaster, and will be in louisianna in the weeks and months to come, as resident

is that not stellar? we are taking live look for you here at ocean city. i mean, just beautiful colors on the horizon there. very light weight. just lapping on the shore line. it is just so nice. now, of course, we had some stormy weather yesterday. as we take you out to storm scan3, that front now thankfully moving well out to sea, high pressure taking it plates, and here is the thing, guys. this is going to last us a while. there is not too much to track out on the radar all the way across the canadian board earn up near the great lakes, got little something down near the lone star state, mexican border, little something, but generally speaking none of that will be messing with us in the days ahead, just got high pressure to thank for what promises to be just beautiful weather this week. so, here you go. mid low 80s here today. about 83 in the city. we will keep the theme going tomorrow. my personal favorite of the next couple of days, little breezy, tomorrow we lose the breeze with how pressure anchored overhead. more sunshine wednesday, still in the mid 80s, now it does warm up little bit more come thursday, does turn touch more

"eyewitness news" reporter justin finch is live at the scene, with more of the details, good morning, justin. >> jim, jan, good morning, neighbors tell us police were called to this house just last week after a heated argument involving that male victim, and a woman. he is just 35 years old, a week later was shot and killed

in a second floor bedroom, his wife was shot twice in the same room. she is in critical condition. and now at temple hospital. his children were nearby, but all safe, and police are searching for the killer who destroyed this family. neighbors called this family kind, quiet, and nice. so they are stunned to learn they were targeted. twenty-fifth district police were called to this hunting park rowhouse on the 3700 block of north seventh, just after 1:00 this morning. where minutes earlier, in a second floor back bedroom, they found 35 year old father, shot in the stomach, reportedly by a shotgun. he was declared dead on scene. in that same room, a 40 year old woman shot twice, and is said to be his wife. she was taken to temple hospital in critical condition with a gunshot to her right forearm, and another in her face and neck area. police say somehow she was able to communicate with them en route to the er. on scene we are told the two men came in through a downstairs kitchen window, these invaders, and then

stormed upstairs demanding cash, and that at least one armed with a shotgun may not have been a stranger. >> witness accounts from the victims, and some of the children, we believe that the shooter is known to the 35 year old homeowner who was shot and killed. we do have a nickname at this time. >> it is possible, you know, jelousy, nice cars, he was always nice, dressed nice, just nice. it could be, you know, but it is just horrible. >> and back live this morning, that home is now one of two rather three crime scenes, police are combing this morning, they found a shotgun, knit cap, live shotgun ammo in an alley behind the home here. that will wife again is at temple hospital. she is in critical condition, and shot twice, those six of children are now safe with their grandparents, looks looking for surveillance cameras in the area hoping to find video of the two men

escaping after killing that father in front of his children and family. we are live, in hunting park, justin finch, cbs-3, "eyewitness news", jan, jim, back into you. >> thanks for that update. >> philadelphia police have identified the driver arrested for a hit-and-run that killed a homeless woman in a wheelchair. authorities have charged andrew aceto with homicide by vehicle. police say aceto was under the influence wife driving his vehicle on lehigh avenue when he struck the 37 year old victim near mascher on saturday. police say he then sped off and struck a 18 year old woman. she suffered minor injuries. police caught up with aceto a few blocks away. >> in other news, no word and when caused house fire in germantown that claimed the life of a 61 year old man. the flames broke out on clapear street just after 6:00 yesterday. firefighters also pulled 63 year old woman from the house, she suffered smoke inhalation and is in critical condition. >> meanwhile, two firefighters are recovering this morning

after getting hurt battling flames in a bensalem home. the fire started yesterday afternoon on tennis avenue. one firefighter suffered diabetic shock. the other was burned. no other injuries were recorded. no word yet on what sparked that fire. >> the philadelphia archdioces has announced three more catholic churches are shutting down. saint john of lacrosse church in rosalynn, modern de larosa church saint cecelia church is closing september 16th. archdioces says very few requests to use the church, and just too expense i have to maintain. no one lost a parish church as a result of the closings, because the three churches congregations already had merged into other parish churches. >> now, flood waters starting to recede in louisianna. clean up is underway this morning. many resident have lost everything. there is a network of relief on the ground helping people with everything from aid to laundry cleaning.

more on those helping with any way they can. >> reporter: across southeastern louisianna, you can see it, evidence of more than 60,000 homes damaged by flooding. but, a network of relief is building across the region. 2600 national guards men have been joined by volunteers from a merry corp. and other groups. fema has already approved $55 million in temporary assistance, plus 15 million in advance national flood insurance payment. the small business administration is setting up recovery centers. the salvation army has deployed mobile feeding trucks, and tide providing laundry services. on tuesday, president barack obama will visit the state. louisianna governor turned back at critics who said the president should have come sooner. >> i asked them to let us get out of the response mode, where we were still conducting searches of houses, we were still making rescues. i didn't want to divert these police officers, sheriff's deputies and state troopers and other essential resources and assets to providing

security for the president. >> governor john bell edwards also expressed appreciation for friday's visit, by republican president nominee donald trump. >> helped to shine a spotlight on louisianna, and on the dire situation we have here, that it was helpful. >> while resident clean up and rebuild in louisianna, a little boy pitches in to help out. >> yes, this is great. carson decided to celebrate his ninth birthday not with party or present, but with by delivering pizza to those devestated by flooding in baton rouge. and we're not talking about just couple of pizzas, either. carson delivered 363 pizzas. >> we're going to give them lunch so that they don't have to stop work, what they're doing, so we're just going to deliver pizzas to neighborhoods. >> i'm more shocked about it, how many people donated, we thought it was just going to be our internal family. and when it got out through facebook it, just looked like the love wanted to be spread
