weeks ago during a construction project. >> we are completely renovating the h va c system within the building. we had no air conditioning prior to this year. so during the course of the demolition, in the project, they found some asbestos that had been encased in the walls that we did the not know about. >> reporter: vineland school district says no students were in danger from the asbestos because it was contained in the walls. new jersey's school's development authority overseeing the ten million-dollar air conditioning project, is spending an extra million-dollar to have have a contractor remove the asbestos. >> we have been assured that everything will be removed in time for the start of the school which is september 6th. there might be a couple cosmetic issues in the building in a couple sections but there should be no danger. >> reporter: asbestos appears to be contained to one wing which completes the cafeteria and band rooms and national classrooms. district was told removal will go on time but it is a tight window and any setback might risk cutting in the school ye
