our area. first we want to get a check on today's awesome weather forecast with katie and traffic is meisha. good morning. >> good morning, welcome back, brooke. so looking outside right now, couple every accidents to start our morning off. not fun note. we head into a tuesday morning, it will be a busy one. buckle our seatbelt. >> the weather still very, very quiet. it stays that wayment today personally, my personal favorite because it is just so comfortable outside. actually quite cool depending where you are. so we'll take you on a tour, get things started, storm scan at the moment has nothing to report. clear as a bell. high pressure is in placement under the nice clear sky, temperatures have had very easy time dropping through the overnight. so, let's take a look. out in mount pocono, 46 degrees, the current temperature, this is some of the coolest air we've had since june, so it has been quite awhile since we've had a chance to not only throw open the windows at night, but maybe even need a blanket, as you head to bed. so just waking up with this morning, hopefully awed chance to snuggle under the covers.

56 degrees in trenton, at 57 currently even in atlantic city, pair of five's to report in millville. outlying suburbs, quakertown flight g with the 40's, since we still have close to two hours before the sunrises, a shot that we ends up in the 40's in a few more locationsment take a look at the tuesday forecast, again, wall-to-wall sunshine, gorgeous weather, i love the phrase splendid to report to just describe the day ahead here, because, of the chrissy start to the day, very, very comfortable, no breeze left over, from what we had yesterday, so, it is just quiet, and calm, and beautiful. >> love waking to up that. all right, katie, well look right behind me, you can see, not all clear in the world of travel this morning, what we are looking at is a accident, happened about 2:25 this morning, involving an oil spill. the schuylkill westbound, before 202, that left lane you can see is still compromised so for those of us in and around that area, especially an oil spill, even if it is 4:30 in the morning, will slow you down.

you can see crews out there. also see people out on foot, out of theirs vehicles. make sure traveling around, from to head out there any time soon, if this is not yet cleared give yourself couple of extra minute, and drive real carefully. construction here has just been cleared. boulevard headlights southbound direction before fox street. two rate lanes were blocked there. now looking good on the boulevard. vine was closed overnight. you can see westbound and eastbound side of the vine between the schuylkill and broad. you are still closed. a lot more construction coming up in about 15 minute, jim, over to you. >> thank you so much, meisha a just into the news room two, women are in the hospital after jumping out of a window during a fire. this all happened in a home on the 7800 block of michener avenue. that's in philadelphia's stenton section. the two jumped out of the window on the home second floor. they're in stable condition, crews were able to put out the fire, a little bit before 4:00 a.m. >> meanwhile, camden county man is accused of beating his girlfriend's toddler son to death. he'll peer today in court. just obtained the frantic 911

calls. >> my son is not -- he is not responding. >> that's the boy's mother, pennsauken police officers arrived at the home on the 5900 block of mansion boulevard around 11:30 saturday night. the toddler was returned to the hospital where he died. authorities are not name being the child or his mother, the boyfriend, 24 year old zachary traykoch, charged with first degree murder, neighbors are shocked. >> deploy recall, haneous act committed, fathom, the images come to your head, especially when a two year old is involved. >> he is in camden county jail, awaiting 1:30 arraignment. justin finch will have live update on this story in about 30 minutes. >> gary jerry sandusky will return for day three after hearing, he wants a new trial. sandusky's attorneys are expected to question the prosecute heres helped convict him in 2012. yesterday's testimony focused on only one issue, whether the

state in 2012 new who victim number two was. that's the perna cyst at any time penn state coach michael mcqueary says he saw sandusky abuse back in 2001. attorney tom kline, from victim five, says there is is very remote possibility sandusky could be released from prison if he awaits a new trial. >> i can say this on category i can on behalf of some victims, some i got to know, one young manny got to know and love and respect as my client, they would be devastated to see jerry sandusky somehow released from jail, somehow walking the streets again when he did these horrible deeds, had a fair trial, was convicted. >> sandusky was convict in the june of 2012 of sexually abusing ten different boys between 1994 and 2008. >> middletown township leaders are putting off a final decision on proposed pipeline.

last night, the counsel delayed a decision on the east two pipeline. council members say it was because of concerns over some of the language in sunoco proposal. company wants to build a pipeline to transmit liquid fuels apart the -- through the southern part of the state. everyone who spoke during the meeting's public comments period voiced opposition to the project. >> well this morning, new numbers show pennsylvania and new jersey rang among the state's with the most confirmed cases of the zika virus. according to the centers for disease control, and prevention, new jersey is behind new york, florida, california and texas, with 97 cases. they're all travel related. pennsylvania is next with 82 cases, as of yesterday afternoon. delaware is at ten cases. schools start opening their doors for another year, workers at one local high school are rush to go get rid of asbestos. it is happening at vineland high school south campus in south new jersey.

crews were installing new heating and air-conditioning system when they found it, which is a known carcinogen, told it is contained to wing of the school that includes the cafeteria and band room. the district says the removal is going as scheduled, but it is not all done by the start of the school year, september 6, there is a plan b. >> we've discussed split sessions, have some students in the morning, some in the afternoon, but that's a last resort. we don't think it will come to that. >> district says it will not open the affected part of the school until they are sure the asbestos is gone. officials also say there is no health risk for student or staff. and speaking of school starting, it is move in day at widener university in chester. members of the freshman class of 2020 start arriving this morning. they'll start checking in at 9:00. student at other university in our area will also be moving in this week. temple has its monday-in day tomorrow and thursday, so does the university of pennsylvania. drexel students still have some time. move in there is not until

september 10th. >> new this morning, olympic silver medalist from our area returns home from rio. our cameras were rolling at philadelphia international airport as family and friends greeted nia al lee, she took silver in the 100 meeting hurdles, she grew up in germantown, attended high school in pleasantville, new jersey, among those who greeted ali this morning was her adorable 15 month old son, titus. >> i've never dreamed of anything like that in my life. i got to meet a loft cool people from different sport. i got to share a bond with my teammates that, you know, would be memorablement i'll never forget. >> ni a and her teammates gave the united states first sweep in 100-meter hurdles and its seventh in the history of olympic track. well, another local olympic athlete also returned home from rio yesterday. "eyewitness news" at the ymca in west grove, chester county where gold medalist rungi returned back to where she got her start. she reconnected with former

welcome back. happening today republican vice presidential nominee mike penned is campaigning in our region. the indianna governor's first stop will be in king of prussia for a private event. then later pence is holding public rally at 4:00 p.m., at worth and company in pipers ville. the construction company is one of many stops on the campaign trail, where the governor will focus on american jobs, and job creation. >> on the democratic side, hillary clinton is ridiculing claims that she's in poor health. she talked about that during a appearance on jimmy kimmel live last night calling it, quote, wacky strategy. former new york city mayor rudy guiliani made the claim most recently on fox news sunday this weekend. he said the media was hiding evidence about it, and suggested people do an on line

>> making decisions? >> okay. >> well he would enjoy some of today's weather. >> i think anybody who. who wouldn't? it is sunny outside, very cool actually at the moment, but you don't have a win any more. storm scan nice and quiet. high pressure built in place. it will keep things completely clear, completely dry, all day, and minus the wind. i don't know how you get much better than this. so, it is so nice to be able to bring awe forecast like this, since we've had so much humidity, certainly heat, but also thunderstorm to track as of late. now, it is just quiet, and tranquil, that's the story for us today, and across the whole northeastern region, the story throughout the day. now as we take a look at turn the focus to the tropics, things are starting to heat up there, across the center of the atlantic. we still have tropical depression fiona still moving off to the west-northwest here. another area to watch, basically, making bee line at this point towards the lesser antilles, although has

potential to mainly re surf, something we have to keep a close watch on in the days ahead. but next main system now, gaston has since formed, and it is way out over the eastern atlantic. so there is still a lot of time before we can actually tell you exactly where this system is going to head. but, at this point, it appears as though it may just stay out to sea. that's good news, low humidity, sunshine in the forecast for us today. again, practically perfection, clear and comfy, once more if you want to leave the air conditioner offer, feel freement back to the 80s for the next couple every days, slow creep on the thermometer to the point we're right back in the 90s on friday, that will be the steamiest day of the forecast here, also have to track a shower or thunderstorm along the way. meisha, over to you. >> thank you so much. good morning, everyone. we are waking to up an accident this morning, still out there on the schuylkill. involving a fuel spill, schuylkill westbound before 202, see the left lane compromised. crews are out there. we have fuel spill. just give yourself extra

caution, leave extra time on this clean up as well. overall things are good. see brake lights going on as they go past, little gaper delay. but not enough vehicles out there to really slow you down. there will be cracking into the 5:00 hour if that doesn't get cleared out of the way. vine closed overnight for construction both moving in the westbound and eastbound side. see the westbound side totally open now. eastbound side looks like it is just starting to open right now. so, eastbound-westbound vine, you're starting to look pretty good. do have construction, pa turnpike between valley forge and ft. washington, two lanes there, pa turn peak westbound between valley forge and downingtown, right lane blocked there. more construction on the pa turnpike, i will be getting to this in the next 15 minute or so. jim, over to you. >> thank you, meisha a planning to celebrate taco tuesday at lunch, listen to. >> this chipotle is having a fundraiser today. >> we'll show you the non-profit in our area getting a cut of chipotle sale, and how you can take part today.

four's this morning. so it, might actually and morning depending where you are starting your day off here for extra layer, currently 06 degrees outside palmyra cove nature park, live look from the neighborhood network, different view of the city skyline far in the distance, nice and clear, that wind has tapered off. winds flow is still out of the northwest. so, it is a nice dry air mass. that means, with very low dew point, in other words, low moisture in the atmosphere, not only is it a good hair day, but so comfortable outside. clearly, that's going to be changing with time here. a creep up in terms of the dew point temperature in the next couple of days to make it feel little steamier by week's end. also see the same thing take place on the actual thermometer. while we keep the sun for the next couple of days it, will prague rest i havely get hotter and hotter. friday really is our chance to see some showers and storms, and at this point, it looks like even those would be pretty scattered in nature. so, if you have been craving quiet weather, meisha, a i think we can hook you up here. >> yep, and one of those things no complaints coming from this department after a week like this. katie, thank you so maniment looking outside, guys, we

still have this accident that happened earlier this morning, probably around right around 2:25 a.m. schuylkill westbound, before 202, this is involving a fuel spill. the left lane, you can see, is compromised, slowing drivers down coming around the ben -- bend, still very dark. eastbound side, see how many vehicles are out there, as well. make note of it, moving the westbound side, schuylkill westbound before 202, accident still there blocking the left lane. the vine was closed overnight. westbound and eastbound. it looks like it is now all open. looking good on the vine, still, pretty darn quiet overall. looking at construction this morning, pa turnpike between willow grove, bensalem, two lanes are block there. and more construction on the pa turnpike eastbound between valley forge, pa turnpike between valley forge and downingtown, that right lane is block there. a lot of construction this morning, still lingering about, just reminder 422 eastbound before trooper, route 202 right lane block, this is going to be some afternoon construction, between nine a.m. and 2:30 p.m. this will run you through friday. jim, over to you.

turnpike, i can probably switch the format, not to mention the fact we have an accident on the schuylkill, that's never something we want in the morning involving a fuel spill. >> at least the roads are dry, at least, we've got that going for us, really will be very nice day, so as long as hopefully things get cleared up in terms of the traffic, you'll have pretty nice drive in here. specially once the sun comes up, just waking up with us this morning, you know, we are eventually going to see that sunrise, and beautiful sunrise at that. and, with high pressure in place, just completely crystal clear for you, there is my graphic, who knows. i guess, you know, one of those days where i think the graphics may have a case of the mondays, but we need to remind the graphics it is not monday any more. storm scan3 quiet as can be, high pressure still in place, under the nice clear sky, we are off to bit of school start. the low thus far at least at philadelphia international airport is 64 degrees, and that's the coolest temperature we've reported since june, so, it has been a while since it's been quite this cool. certainly, this crisp outside. with that very low
