new information tonight in the murder of a toddler, prosecutors in south jersey say that this man killed a two-year old after getting into a tight with the boy's mother over groceries. the suspect is now behind bars after a court appearance. good evening i'm ukee washington. i'm jessica dean. we are hearing tonight from the family of that toddler, they are just beginning to deal with this loss. "eyewitness news" reporter cleve bryan spoke with them and he is live in camden, cleve. >> reporter: jessica, typically at rain. the is a short court proceeding but today was jammed packed with new information about the violence that led to the two-year old's death. >> i just love him. i will see you one day. >> reporter: family of two-year old jameil baskerville, junior were full of raw emotion after learning details about how the boy was allegedly punched to death by his mother's boyfriend. >> you are less of a man to sit there and put your hand on any type of child no matter what age he is. he was two years old. there is no reason you should want to hit him.

>> reporter: never turning his eyes on the tearful enraged audience as he entered the courtroom zachary tricoche was arraigned on murder charges. authorities say tricoche began punching jameil who they referred to as jb for crying when man shoved the boy's mother during an argument over groceries. >> according to jb's mother the defendant punched jb in the chest. so hard that he went back against the wall and struck the back of his head. >> reporter: authorities say one punch didn't satisfaction tricoche. >> detectives said this defendant told the 29-pound toddler to put his hand up before he hit him. he should assume a bunching chance and fight this grown hand and he punched him, again. >> reporter: medical examiner's office say tricoche's punches crushed his liver causing him to bleed to death. >> how tough was to it see him. >> very tough not the to knock over that counter. i think state of new jersey need to bring death penalty back for this incident right here. >> reporter: death penalty was

vacation participating in programs, sports, arts, culture, character, leadership building. today a special guest advised 100 campers during lunchtime, you saw ronald mcdonalds headaching an appearance and bringing along chicken mcnuggets. today marks exactly five years since an earthquake that rattled our area august 23rd, 2011 a magnitude 5.8 earthquake hit the east coast causing millions in damage. it was sent nerd a rural area of virginia but was felt as far away as canada minor clean up was necessary, in our region when that was there. i remember variety well. you were on the west coast. >> i was on the east coast. >> where were you? >> we were at martha's vineyard. i didn't feel anything up here. >> we did here. >> i remember i was driving and i saw road construction. just a jolt. i said, it didn't even dawn on me, that it could be that. >> i came back to work after about a two block trip, i had to do work for the morning show looking at my computer.

i thought something was wrong with my eyes, my computer was shaking. >> we were on air all day that day. >> never forget that. >> we see or feel very often. >> so tree in the eastern you had. can't believe it has been five years since that happened. lets take a quick look at stats on that earthquake just to recap this happened in mineral, virginia, august 23rd, 2011. we certainly felt it. it was felt more in the nation's capitol magnitude 5.8 quake 3.7 miles. largest in virginia since 1897, it took 48 seconds to travel to philadelphia and that quake was felt from georgia to canada. i suggest you felt tonight martha's vineyard and didn't realize it because up and down east coast it was felt. today no earthquakes no storms, no nothing. what a beautiful day. lets look at video from earlier today showing beach in ocean city, and if this isn't the most beautiful, summertime video from the jersey shore i don't know what is, sun off
