>> i'm make traffic ologist. >> so far so good, weather not bad, i think, as far as the roads go. so i don't think there will be any problems with that, hot one. >> it will be a hot one, hot, steamy, we felt the humidity start to creep up yesterday. today will be the cup miniation of that. temperatures will soar into the 90's this afternoon, then we will get nice break head into the upcoming weekend. certainly warm start to the day. 76 degrees right now in philadelphia. we're in the 70s in the poconos, remember, earlier in the week, you started off in the 40's, quite a bit of difference this morning, 74 degrees your current temperature in atlantic city. storm scan3, actually some activity this morning, west of the i95 corridor, few sprinkles around the poconos, what was thunderstorm now is starting to weaken, making its way toward berks county, see couple of raindrops in and around the reading area, heads up for that over the next hour or so. but that should try to weaken. we can maybe see isolated sprinkle in the city as we head into the next several

hours, but i think dry conditions basilica of saints peter and paul the 9:00 hour, decreasing clouds as we head into the second half of the day. see hot, humid conditions, 93 degrees, by the 3:00 hour. but, we have cold front working through the area, as we speak. that's going to bring us some nice relief, justin, a we head into the upcoming weekends. we have to deal with the steam today. but by tomorrow it will feel a little better. talk more about that coming up. >> remember, still late august, we'll get the hot, humid days, pattern stays warm into next week, at least humidity dropping like you said for the weekend. do have accident here, closing down westbound vine street expressway at the ben franklin parkway ramp. that's closed right now. so just heads up there. we had some construction going on at the boulevard earlier, southbound at fox, good shape both directions now, that has cleared, so no problems there at the moment. this early in the game, and then we take you out to the 42 freeway, just off the map here we have construction right around 295-6789 so far so good on northbound side. we're moving headed toward the

city. and there is the construction zone 42 northbound the off ramp to i-295, closed until 6:00 this morning, could jam things up in a little bit. forty-two northbound between 55 and 295, two lanes blocked, until 5:00 a.m. this morning. so, just keep that in mind, as well. water main break going on in town, 63, welsh rd., so just heads up there, it could be some closures there, and also down to delaware, 58, church man road, three lanes block until 5:30 a.m. that's a look at your ride. jim, back to you. >> officials still monitoring chemical manufacturing plant in juniata after a hazmat situation last night. crews were called out to the business on the 3600 block of g street around 6:30. authority say a chemical process had gone outside of it normal limit. officials shut down the street, and restricted ac sets he is to two industrial buildings, told there was strong smell of black licorice in the air, no one was injured, and no houses were

evacuated. safety officials say there is no danger to anyone living in the area. >> young girl caught in the crossfire, police announce $6,000 reward for any information leading to arrest. the girl, gab re ella, hit at eighth and spruce, wednesday night. police say they are looking for several shooters and believe gang activity led to the violence. neighbors say they're still in grief. >> need to turn ourselves in, that was eight year old baby. she didn't even have a chance. and they shot at that baby like that. and i seen the woman, i still see it. >> at last check the girl was in extremely critical condition. >> and update to breaking news we first told you about yesterday morning, police say surveillance video captured the moment a suspected drunk driver hit philadelphia police sergeant joseph cane, jr., in manayunk. colin murphy behind the wheel and kept going. tow truck driver helped officers find him. he was arrested.

sergeant kane is in the hospital with a broken collarbone. >> also, this morning, 28 year old kyle allen of langhorne is accused of stealing from septa. police say he took $638,000 in vehicle and train parts from six different septa properties, then sold them for scrap metal. he'll be in court next month. >> learning the woman killed while zip lining, died from brunt force trauma. the company said the woman had disconnected dollars her sever from the safety system. the park also says all of their equipment is in good operating condition, and now that woman has been identified as 59 year old tina westerner of felton. her daughter said warner died while completing her bucket list. >> vice president joe biden will be in wilmington, delaware, biden expected to announce new investment in the rail service including completion of the horn he will austin and amtrak contract.

biden had a long history of being a champion for sustaining and growing amtrak service, he road the train to washington from his delaware home every day since becoming a senator in 1972. >> well the ticking arrivals and departure board at 30th street station may soon be departing philadelphia. amtrak officials plan to swap out the flip board with a new digitalize dollars model. the flip board has directed station travelers for at least 35 years. but they say the model has grown obsolete, making it difficult to find replacement parts. not all travelers are ready to see it go. >> it kind of keeps it part of fill. >> i as long as it works, as long as it tells us when the trains are coming and going, that's what people want to know. >> enhance the resident. >> many say they'll miss that sounds that ensures they don't miss their trains. no details on when the sign will make it exit, but it could end up at the railroad museum of pennsylvania in

city philadelphia, all is quiet. winds out of the south, though, driving in some of the moisture. temperatures are mild all across the region, 71 degrees, to wake up to right now in mount pocono, at 73 millville. starting off 75 degrees in dover. so we have the warmth, humidity, dew point give us good picture how stick at this feels when you step outside. when the dew point is around the 07 degrees mark, it feels very uncomfortable. unfortunately, that humidity will stick with us through the day today. we do though have cold front working through the delaware valley. really as we speak, slow moving front generating few showers, sprinkles, up toward the lehigh valley, also this more for middle south working into berks county, heads up reading down into new morgan, see little light rain, possibly moderate rainfall as we head into about the neck hour. future weather showing us projection of the next couple of hours. this particular model might be little aggressive. could see few light showers, sprinkles work into the i95 corridor. heads up for that into the 7:00 hour. as we head into 9:00, 10:00,

in and around the wilmington area, also across part of far interior southern new jersey, but for the day today, mainly dry, that chance of isolated sprinkle over the next couple of hours, high temperatures will be warm, topping at 82 degrees in the poconos, 93 in philadelphia, and near 990 degrees down the shore. latest check on the tropics, just have the 5:00 a.m. advisory out for the national hurricane center, gaston, out in the open atlantic. tropical storm right now, strengthening, is not likely but the track of the system looking good. because it is not going to bother you, the united state as it continues to strengthen up to category two hurricane it, will move westbound briefly before turning out to sea, but we have an ion another system in the tropics, right now, and i'll have the latest on that system, and that's coming up in the 5:00 hour, justin. >> that's right. tropics heating up. if you remember five years ago dealing with irene, making landfall couple of days from now, back in 2011, dropped about 5 inches of rain across the delaware valley.
