a sprinkle, trying to work it way into center city, over about the next hour, but seeing couple of raindrops coming down right now, in and around the phoenixville area. but, this cell is trending to weaken. we will continue to do so as we head into about the next half hour. couple of little tiny sprinkles, popping right now in and around the trenton area, but i think if you leave the umbrella behind, you'll be a-okay today. just the chance of morning sprinkle over the next couple of hours, otherwise decrease in clouds headed into the afternoon. hot, humid, although we will have little breeze will help cool us off. shifting over to the northwest as we head into the second half of the day, justin, formerly component to the wind flow will bring us lower humidity, headed into the upcoming weekend, we talk more about that if your full forecast coming up. >> good news, a lot of people excited about that. not the best sunrise shaping up this morning at about 23 minute, do have some clouds around, saw couple of showers, and wet roads. this is 422 right near collegeville, again, we had that brief shower that rolled on through, but traffic, moving directions pretty good

here in both directions. ben franklin bridge, see the city, we had some clouds, but inbound and out bound no problems yet. and then we take you out toward 202, this is route 30, again, see little bit of orange, color, trying to show off the sunrise, still decent amount. vine street expressway, good, looking wean right here, couple of earlier accident, all good. now the trolley tunnels still remaining closed, through monday, from eight p.m. to 5:00 a.m. each night. so ten, 11, 34, 36 trolleys, diverted to 40th and market. the alternate will be the market frankford line. and then, new jersey travel times, still looking pretty good. forty-two freeway northbound that's 12 minute trip from the a.c. expressway to the walt whitman bridge. that's a look at your ride, jim, we send it back to you. >> thank you, justin. officials investigating hazmat situation at chemical manufacturing plant in juniata. the 3600 block of g street is still closed this morning. we're told chemical process at that business had gone outside of it normal limit.

our crews, when they were there, could smell strong odor similar to black licorice. no one was injured. no houses were evacuated. safety officials stress there is no danger to anyone living in this area. >> a little girl is in extremely critical condition after a shoot-out in camden. >> police are offering a reward in hopes that someone will come forward with information. "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo is live at cooper university hospital, where that little girl is fighting for her life this morning. jan? >> reporter: jim, brooke, good morning, that little girl only eight years old was brought here to cooper university hospital, on wednesday night, shot once in the head. as you mentioned, she's currently in extremely critical condition. in the meantime, police continue to investigate the shooting, and now they're offering a $6,000 reward for information in her case. >> shot at the baby like that, and i seen the wounds in her head. i still see. >> still in shock, neighbor and family friend recall the

horrifying moment gunfire rang out wednesday night near eighth and spruce streets in camden. >> need to turn themselves in. that was a eight year old baby. she didn't even have a chance. >> neighbors say eight year old gabriela looking forward to going back to school soon. instead shot to university hospital shot once in the head and in extremely critical condition. there is now a $6,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the people responsible. >> i'm quite confident that with the community's help, we will be able to bring these individuals to justice. >> police say it was around 8:30 wednesday when multiple gunmen opened fire on the child's block. investigators believe the violence was related to gang activity. playing outside at the time, gabriela was caught in the crossfire. yesterday investigators combed the scene for clues. they say they now have solid leads and surveillance video. >> we're going put lazer like focus on these individuals. and we will do information our power to make sure they never walk the streets as free individuals again. >> for this community justice can't be swift enough. meantime camden county police

4.8 on the richter scale, to put that strength in perspective, we were about an hour away from where we are now in a hotel, and could feel those vibrations. now, here we are, outside the entrance to amatrice, one of the hardest hit towns from this earthquake on wednesday, and police say, because of this morning's after shock, and the hundreds of after shocks since wednesday's earthquake, it simply is too unsafe to get into the town for fear of more buildings could collapse. rescues teams in central italy pressed on for third day, still trying to find people trapped under the rubble. drone footage taken above the hard hit town of amatrice shows the extent of the destruction. homes without roofs, others barely left standing. this woman was moved to tears as she waited for news of her missing parents, after hours of searching, rescue teams finally pulled their bodies from the rubble of their homes. fran chest co-was left in complete shock after seeing the damage to his house

>> we are hearing tails of heroism following wednesday's powerful tornados in indianna. >> we've been telling but this, a crowded starbucks was actually flattened, by a tornado, but, luckily, no one inside was killed. customers say the store manager saved their lives. they say they were in the middle of their day when the manager yelled for everyone to run into the bathroom. more than 20 people crammed inside the bathroom, then a tornado whipped around the building. >> he shut the door in the bathroom, told everyone to close the door, it is coming. a relief to know that i came out alive in that. and really, really, i shunned have. >> as many as 15 tornados touched down across indianna with winds of 16 a miles an hour. cars were damaged, broken windows, and they were entire neighborhoods, just ripped to shreds.

>> tornados in the midwest, and then lauren's keeping an eye on the tropics. >> but lauren, how does the weekend look for our area? >> it is looking a-okay, quiet conditions, active weather across parts of the country, but for us, smooth sailing. getting a live look right now in our neighborhood network, palmyra cove nature park looking at center city philadelphia, kind of hard to see, because we do have some clouds in place, little fog, as well, current temperature at 74 degrees, we do have the surface moisture in place, seeing reduced visibility in some locations, do watch out for. that will otherwise mild conditions, 76 degrees in philadelphia, where the low 70s in the lehigh valley, and waking up to middle 70s down the shore, also waking up to a bunch of humidity, dew points up into the 70s, even middle 70s across parts of delaware, once the dew point crosses that 70 degrees threshold, humidity starts to feel oppressive, and that's going to be the trend through the day today. but we do have cold front moving through the area, as we speak, generating few isolated showers, very light in intensity, this was a thunderstorm, couple of hours ago, it has been slow to die

out, but gradually dissipating as it moves its way eastbound, right now bringing very light rainfall to part of montgomery, chester counties, continuing to work off to the east. could bring few raindrops to center city philadelphia as we head into the next hour. future weather showing us as we head into the second half of the morning, shower activity will dissipate. as we head into the afternoon hours, decrease in clouds, maybe very stray shower along the coast later today as the colds front exit, but otherwise as we head into the evening hours, headed out on your friday evening, friday night, looking good, no problems, dry weather, and humidity that will be falling off. but for today, mostly sunny, maybe stray shower at the beach. 89 degrees, high temperature, so it is going to be a hot one. do watch out for the rip countries being an as we head into the second day of the weekend and for the weekend entirely, because we do have this tropical system off shore, gaston, right now, tropical storm, and it is forecast to strengthen as we head into the next couple of days, it is not going to be a direct threat to the united states as it strengthens into a category two hurricane, but,

justin, could see some strong rip current over the next couple every days specially into early next week. down the shore, so people have to watch out for. that will be sure to swim near a lifeguard. >> that's right, yes, pretty amazing storm, that strong, so far off shore, but definitely later, sunday afternoon, you will in the the stronger surf, starting to arrive. that could be huge, but waves for days. that's good news if you are a surfer with gaston sitting out over the open waters. collegeville, 422, eastbound headlight volume pick picking up. rain going on. to the schuylkill, westbound, south street. do have accident, but it is pulled over here to the shoulder here. so we are getting by. probably just little bit of gaper delay to deal with. then we switch around here. this is eastbound here at south street. again we do have disable vehicle, so looks like pretty slow right around that zone, as well. heads up turnpike westbound, we have an accident now, this is before the mid-county left lane block, so this is starting to back up a little bit. so just add extra time to your drive time if you are head in the that area. septa trolley, do have some

at least speeds still looking good. wide zoom, the ben franklin bridge from the jersey side, heading toward the city, again, both directions, inbound and out bound. no problems here so far on the ben franklin bridge. here is the accident on the pennsylvania turnpike westbound, been moved to the shoulder, damage has been done, so back up little bit. past ft. washington, at least starting to move again with it being moved off to the shoulder. we had some earlier delays on septa trolleys. these route looking much better now on time, with that tunnel cleared, the issues they had. here is another accident, 295 northbound, near 168. in new jersey, the right lane blocked, so watch out for the back up there. looking at your ride this morning, we send it back over to you guys, jim? >> thank you, justin, sign of the times, amtrak announces new plans to update their decades old flip board to a digital display. >> "eyewitness news" reporter justin finch is live at 30th street station, where some travelers are not happy about the change, justin, you know that includes jim donovan, but you said, you have something he may like,

right? >> reporter: brooke, jim, jim, we know you wear glasses, and of course this sign is going away soon, many fans like you are having a hard time with the idea of it going away before it even does, but jim and fans, going away this sign will be doing very soon, and amtrak says what will replace it, a digital display, easier to see, jim, will be better for all. that display will soon flip its final flap. in the industry, it is name for italian company that manufactures them. this one here at 30th street believed to date back to at least the early 80s, though its purpose is to update train schedules, seems more popular for that flipping sound. now, no word if the new display replacing this board will feature that sound, but amtrak says it was timed to move on. in recent years, the agency says its displays have become pricier and fussier to fix. in their place, amtrak
