several homes in the surrounding neighborhood have been evacuated as a precaution. we will keep you up to date as we learn more about the situation. in other news, powerful after shocks continue to rumble through parts of the central, italy, and devastated by wednesday's quake. and arrests and, track. jonathan vigliotti is has the latest from amatrice a. and, more than two days after an earthquake, devastated parts of the italy the race is on to find survivor. >> this trainer says the dogs are brought to areas where they believe there are missing people, trapped below the ruble. from above, the scale of the destruction is overwhelming. and several people have been pulled from the debris since the quake struck wednesday but crews admit the odd of finding survivors is diminishing by the hour. after shocks are slowing the

live look down the shore in ocean city, where people are starting the weekend off on the beach and board and that beach is looking nice from here. >> reporter: lets look first at the forecast with meteorologist justin drabick live on the cbs-3 sky deck, good afternoon, justin. >> good afternoon, jim. shore will be place to be for next several days. the great looking forecast, a lot of sunshine and temperatures warm, reminder it is still late august. we can get hot days and bringing back 90-degree temperatures already starting to day and some spots at 90. officially at philadelphia international. 90 degrees as well as wilmington and capitol of delaware. poconos still feeling good in the upper 70's. even coastal temperatures are getting close to 90 degrees, with an off shore wind. look at the suburbs, a little cooler in quakertown the at 86 . nice 87 in willow grove. problem is humidity. we will look at that dew point temperature and remember 70 degrees is that threshold where it feels really humid. we are there right now. it is tough to spend time

outdoors this afternoon. just take it easy. it is late summer. bodies are getting used to the hot and humid conditions but when we factor in that humidity it feels like 93 in philadelphia. ninety-five in wilmington. look at dover feeling like over 100 degrees at this hour with that high heat and humidity and down toward south jersey and shore points close to 100 degrees for that heat index the atlantic city airport. we had a couple showers early this morning and cloud giving way to the the sunshine, full sun right now, weak cold front moving through the region this afternoon. what it the is, it will bring more northwesterly wind, increasing through the a afternoon hours. that will push out humidity. until then hot and humid afternoon 93 degrees for philadelphia, near 90 at the shore, lower 80's at the poconos. there are some changes though coming up for upcoming weekend but we are still lock this is hot pattern, we will talk about that with the full forecast in a few more minutes, brooke and jim back to you. authorities are now offering a reward in the case of the eight year-old hit the by gunfire. right in front of her own

home. gabriel was shot in the head 8:30 wednesday night during a shoot-out on the 900 block of south eighth street in camden. there is a $6,000 reward for any information on those gunman. gabriel is now listed in extremely critical condition. officials have reopened the 3600 block of g street which was the scene of last night's hazmat situation at a chemical manufacturing plant, in juniata. the fire department is also still trying to determine the cause of the incident which produced a strong smell in the area similar to black licorice. no one was hurt and there were no evacuations. in other news lots of excitement today for parents and students, this move in day at many colleges and universities in our region. the contracts hoff 2020 launch her college career. it is hot for month of the august, so far coming into today, we are 3.8 degrees above average. below average on the the rainfall. high is 98. we will finish strong with very warm temperatures. we will stay well above average. i think this warmer then average pattern will continue into the month of september. here we are at 90 degrees right now at the airport in philadelphia a, trenton. eighty-nine wilmington and millville. upper 70's, only exception in the poconos where it feels cooler. we have an off shore win coming over the land. landis hot. beach temperatures, at 90 degrees at ocean city. ninety-one in cape may. 73-degree ocean water temperature will feel pretty nice. wind are shifting more out of the northwest now. ten to 15 miles an hour. so that direction means the air is coming from can inadequacies, cooler, dryer there. you will notice a drop in humidity throughout the day-to-day into tomorrow but still it is going to be hot. it does feel oppressive today with the high humidity levels but tomorrow much better. no the that bad. slight increase sunday and

monday but today will be the worst, out of the next seven days. weak cold front trying to come through right now. we will stay in the clouds passing through the poconos at this hour. not producing any showers. and mainly, sunny skies, and, then not much, activity across the ohio valley. so, that means a dry weekend shaping up. shore forecast, it is a good one, close to 90 with lots of sunshine. cooler tomorrow. we will get breeze off water. 84 degrees. we will finish off weekend with no problems lower 80's, mostly sunny skies and that trend will continue into early next week. we're watching two systems in the tropics, investigating 99l, that is still having a tough time, and, tough to watch, and over the next five days. >> then we have tropical storm status, this storm will stay out over the opened water of the atlantic but look at how far over the central waters it is. it is a strong storm. the it will send stronger rip currents our way probably on sunday, through the next, few days and next week.

gaston stays out to sea but watch out for strong rip currents along the coast and watch 99l, could strengthen over weekend, main threat will be into florida, dropping one to 2 inches of rain across southern florida and gulf coast. back home, cold front not producing showers, does push out humidity. high pressure over new england for saturday and sunday. that blocks us from any storms. we will have a dry weekend. that trend continues into next week. is there pocket of hot air over us right now for the next several days. this is a typical midsummer weather pattern and we are dealing with temperatures in the lower 90's. it is not cool second half of next week. cooler air out of canada that will knock temperatures bob where they should be for this time of the year. sun, cloud, 93 degrees. it will be warm tonight, humidity levels start to drop mostly clear with the low of 71. extended forecast, these numbers are typical for mid to late july, not late august, we should be around 84, and close
