live from the cbs broadcast center until. this is cbs3 "eyewitness news" at 11:00. developing right now, at 11:00, a tragic scene in west philadelphia, a child has died after being hit by an suv. good evening i am rahel solomon, natasha brown is off. that little boy just 23 months old, "eyewitness news" reporter trang do just arrived on the scene. joins us live with the story. trang? >> rahel, little boy's family has identified him as amin rory. this appears to have been a tragic accident. the driver did stop and is cooperating with the police investigating. but family members tell us amin was a talk of smart and entering jettic little boy. he darted out between two parked cars and ran out. struck by a white chevy

trailblazer headed towards 49th. they took amin and his mother to children's hospital of philadelphia where he died a short time after. amin cousin tells us the driver was very distraught over the accident. >> he was so sure, i don't think the lady actually saw him until it was too late. i had opportunity to speak to her for a minute. you know, and we allow her to know that we know that he did run out in the street. so you know, it really wasn't her fault. >> reporter: amin was his mother's only child. as you can imagine, the family here tonight is devastated but for now we're live in west park side, trang do, cbs3 "eyewitness news." >> thank you. and camden air brush artists are creating memorials shirts free of charge in honor's gabrielle carter. the owner of the shop will give memorial shirts to anyone in the

community who wants one. meanwhile, the reward for information leading to gabby's killer now $50,000. trenton police are investigating what happened when an off duty trenton police officer shot and killed a man. it happened shortly before 10:00 p.m. saturday in the 500 block of roosevelt street. prosecutors say the off-duty police officer arrived on the scene of a fight. man named constantine tow had been shot in the hand while taking the gun away from his brother alfred. the off-duty police officer had his weapon drawn and was apparently trying to dis arm constantine. according to the officer, alfred then tried to grab one of the weapons, the officer fired, shooting alfred once in the chest. he died at a hospital. the mercer county prosecutor's office is now investigating. camden county, a man is dead after his car went out of control and struck a pole early this morning, on this video captured the aftermath of the crash near the corner of sicklerville and chews landing road. the driver was thrown from the honda acord and killed.

a man described hearing it but did not want to be identified. >> we heard a loud screeching, the tires. sounded a little something like -- boom, boom, boom. >> the victim's identity was not immediately known. camden county police are investigating. the u.s. coast guard rescued two people after he boat ran aground in galloway, new jersey. take a look at this video shot by the coast guard. authorities got the call around 9:00 p.m. to help two people stuck aboard a 36, foot cat maran, a coast guard took them to the atlantic city station, they fortunately were not hurt. he praised the voters for reaching out before the situation got worse. turning to the weather, after a hot weekend, the steamy weather stick around for the start of the work week? lauren casey knows and she's here in the cbs3 weather center with the answer. yes, certainly a hot weekend but full of sunshine great for all of our outdoor activities.

we're going to keep the heat around as we close out the month of august and just in time for september, some cooler weather around the corner, but certainly not cool today, a high temperature at 90 in philadelphia. our average high, 84 degrees, so well beyond that, we climb into the 90's in the lehigh valley, got close in berks county with a high temperature of 89 in reading, we topped in the mid to upper 80's at the shore. checking in at live neighborhood network. 78 degrees in reading, sitting at 74 in trenton and new castle delaware, 75 degrees. stormscan 3 showing us quiet conditions a few clouds starting to make their way in toward the poconos and lehigh valley. precipitation up wind across parts of western and central pennsylvania with storm that are starting to fizzle out and will not make their way into delaware valley. they will try to make a run for it maybe an isolated sprinkle overnight in the poconos, otherwise clearing out completely as we head into our monday morning, so no problems weather-wise for monday morning

days until election day, questions about trump stand on the issue still remain. wendy gilette reports. >> reporter: donald trump's campaign manager told john dickerson on cbs3 "face the nation," the republican presidential nominee has not changed his substance on undocumented immigrants. >> first there's still no amness ty. secondly he's building that wall. that has been the center piece of his candidacy and his immigration vision from the beginning and it has not changed >> what has seemingly changed is trump's position on what will happen to estimated 11 million ed immigrants currently living in the u.s. his original plan calls for deportation to help send them out of the country. in recent days his campaign team talked about what they called a more humane approach. they say trump's views have not shifted. >> what you heard him describe there in his usual plain spoken american way was a mechanism, not a policy.

wilmington. 77 in philadelphia. little bit cooler in cumberland county down to 68 right now in millville. due points right throughout the weekend hovering middle 60's. we're kind of in a steamy category but not in the oppressive category humidity-wise as we head into wednesday, it will start to creep back up. tomorrow, again we stay in the steamy category into tuesday before we get very humid into wednesday and then a significant drop-off thursday, the first day of september, and some more crisp like air will be building in across the delaware valley. overnight, a warm one probably can't have the windows open, a few passing clouds dropping back to 70. average low should be 66. monday temperatures soaring back to 90's. all is relatively quiet on stormscan 3. some of that precipitation trying to work its way eastbound

but it will continue to dissipate we'll stay dry throughout the overnight period. cuba forecast taking this and strengthening it to a tropical storm. the next tropical storm name would be her man. but two are in a race to gain that status before making a turn off to the northeast and crossing the florida peninsula as a 50 miles per hour. the main threat is going to be flooding rains and we al have tropical depression number 8 newly formed as of today. it will likely be a tropical storm. before making a turn to the northeast, it could clipped outer banks of north carolina before shooting out to sea. we're not expecting direct impacts in the delaware valley at this point from either system but the indirect impact will be the moderate risk of rip

current. we also have gas ton out to sea that will enhance the rip currents. if you are going to be down the shore over the in contact several days. beautiful conditions at the shore tomorrow weather-wise, mostly sunny skies, maybe a few patchy clouds in the poconos but otherwise pretty noise with a high of 80. and temperatures going to be pretty warm all across the region again tomorrow climbing back up into the upper 80's in berk county, top, at 89 in allentown, and as we hid into the next next couple days, high temperatures sitting around 90, i think our best chance for a thunderstorm will, as we head into late day wednesday, but still not a significant chance of thunderstorms activity before we led into thursday, maybe a morning thunder shower and beautiful conditions by the end of the week, low humidity sunshine and a high of 79 on friday, rahel. >> sounds good to me. i'm sure a lot of people looking forward to cooler temperatures. phils struggling with the
